i do think there is a middle ground between making childrens cartoons your personality as an adult and pretending that any and all discussion around childrens cartoons is, like, dumb meaningless bullshit. like actually pedagogy and the culture and ideas children are exposed to are, like, super important. there's a reason people made sesame street and there's a reason conservatives fucking hate it. but also also if you as an adult are talking about Oscar the Grouch's morality as if he's a real person and not, again, a tool of pedagogy and culture, i think you should self reflect. yanno???

like idk watch the kids show read the YA book but understand the context and i dooooo think there's a good chance you would enjoy pushing your comfort zone. there's a post that's like "if you're genuinely convinced that most fanfiction is better than movies and tv it's a sign that you're craving more mature and complex media" like... i think it's counterproductive to frame this as a shame thing! there's funny messy fun interesting stuff out there that also has mature themes and moral complexity! give it a shot!

final thought - breaking the pride tradition and more than likely won't make a new piece. the top one from TDOV is all i'm making this year. i have my focus on other projects currently and i don't want to force a poster design. these came from a specific head space and my current head space is Very Tired lmao so i wanna work on other things. 👍

I just learned that a lot of vintage perfumes and fragrances were intentionally created to blend well with the ever-present smell of cigarettes, and in specific a lot of iconic ones that are super musky and floral and civet-heavy were intended to compliment the smell of fur coats or even "refresh" that new fur coat smell, which is one of the reasons (besides just shifting preferences and trends) that a lot of them smell really, really bad to modern noses.

I bet there's some stunning genius diva out there right now who meticulously coordinates her Victoria's Secret body mists with her vape flavors.
