;; [ YO! Sorry I haven’t been on this account. If you don’t follow my main blog ( fallendragoness ) you probably don’t know what’s been going on with my life. Recently, shit’s hit the fan. Can’t go to college this year and currently looking for employment around the house so I can save up money to go to college next year. That said, the reason why I haven’t been on this blog is I just haven’t had much muse for augustine because of a lot of the stress that’s gone on and him just not wanting to come out and play with the children. What replies I have in my drafts I will reply to and queue them. There’s only two in there. For now though, this update is mostly to link you to my more active blogs.

“A missus isn’t necessary, I’ll tell you that. A bang here and there is great, sure—but commitment afterwards is just a road to bickering and grumpy elderly lives,” a huff escaped Jake’s pale lips, contorting the muscles into a slight frown before noting the other’s cig. Reaching into his pocket and taking a death stick out of his own pack, the man simply let it dangle from his lips without any ignition.

Listening to the other further, a chuckle escaped his mouth. This guy never was one to change—especially when it came to his cockiness. “That’s for damn sure. That place can rot for all I care. But for men like us, aye? I suppose there won’t ever be a place for the two of us to fit in, now is there?” Tucking a gloved hand into his pocket, Jake searched for his lighter. Noticing it missing from its usual place, he scowled.

“Shit—yo man, mind if I get a light?”

“God did I miss your ass!” Augustine started, smirk wide, wild as he continued on walking. His eyes went back towards the sidewalk, seemingly skipping on toes. Was he in the best of outfits -- god no -- he barely even had a home to return to, collecting something of disability due to the doctors saying he was CRAZY oh, but they didn’t know... No one did.

Right. Fitting in. How did one do such again? He had slipped from societies doors for while just to relax, relive what he has done. He had played shocked and depressed for when they had found out that his child had gone missing but they DIDN’T SUSPECT HIM OF THE CRIME.

“Eh? I am sure one bar on this god damn street can hold us long enough until the sun rises.” He paused, shifting in step as he pulled a match box from his jacket and struck it against the igniter. The sudden sparks of flame made green optics SPARK with glee as he quickly called down, lighting the cigarette for the other without a second thought and then throwing the match to the ground, killing the flame with a slam of his foot. “No need to thank me. Doc yelled at me for having a lighter and took it away so matches will have to do. Fuck that asshole.”

What a pleasant surprise! Pearly whites shone bright amongst the dark backdrop of the city—nightfall having fallen a couple of hours prior—as a wicked grin spread across pale lips. Noting the light change, the man nodded for the other to cross ahead of him. Just how long had it been since he’d last seen this face? Too long, he assumed. How was he to catch up with Augustine if he didn’t agree to his offer?

“This ‘big bad bear’ has nothing going on tonight, I’ll tell you what. I’ll take you up on that, my old friend.” Grin widening as he spoke, Jake’s tone became lighter as his sentence continued on. “Shit, I don’t think one would suffice for the night for you—you look like hell, though that’s nothing new, is it?”

Feet shuffling across the street behind Augustine, Jake pushed each of his worn, scarred hands into his peacoat’s pockets, looking to the ground as he walked. It was strange, outlandish that the two had coincidentally crossed paths that night. Who would have thought?

Shucks, someone who actually CARED about his damned being. He gave a deep laugh, lighting a cigarette and taking a moment to take in the calming toxins. “Well then lets ‘ave some fun. Not like I have the MISS to worry about since she left me for some other asshole. DATING is stupid, friend. I believe it’s best if I stick to brothers before bitches.”

He paused though, noticing the behavior. After all, he was one who manipulated people. Watched their every move, asking them in BRAIN WASHING ways so they would do what he wanted. A monster in human skin.

“But, what bar do we grace with our presence. Not like the old work place offers a good cold drink.” The old security guard simply gave a sneer, rolling shoulders back as he crossed the street ( without a care in the world if he was to get hit ) and looked back to the other, almost curious to see if they were truly tailing along. “You got that new one that opened up not far from here, but I heard it’s the NICE crowd, not for men like us. Then again some rowdy hall of assholes ain’t any good either.”

How many years have passed by? It didn’t matter anyway. He silently walked upon the road, hands in pockets of his coat, looking around the barely lit street. GOD did he hate this city, this place, but here he was STUCK THERE like a magnet. So when he saw another being on the streets, his head tilted, interest picking up even as moods were in a knotted mess.

But he crossed paths anyway, taking time to remember the face, eyes adjusting in the hard light. Questions pricked at his mind but he did not speak of them at the moment, only one slipped his lips: “What has the big bad bear been doing?” He hummed, voice shifting in a lullaby melody before it stopped suddenly.

“It has been some time since I have seen you. Probably for the best -- we all need some air.“ Augustine shifted on his feet, arms coming across his chest. Interest perked, waiting for the reply as he saw the intersection’s light switch. “’cause if you don’t gotta’ go anywhere, we could go get a drink.”
