Alex tossed and turned in his sleep. He still felt odd, and the air around him swirled and twisted in an almost painful way. Every step he took induced a severe headache. He grabbed his heads with both hands, wincing as flashes of hundreds of memories attacked his mind at once. When he finally opened his eyes, he found himself sitting down, hugging his knees. He tried to get up, only to knock his head on the hard object behind him, but he couldn’t quite make it out; everything was so dark. His first instinct was to feel trapped, but instead, he felt strangely calm. Suddenly, his eyes adjusted as he felt drips of water melt onto his shoulder. He was under a sink.
Slowly, the image around him faded once again and he felt a warmness growing inside him. He blinked. Once. Twice. Three times. When his eyes opened that third time, he was staring up at Elijah. He looked around his surroundings, slowly, “Is this real?”
The whole time Alex was passed out Elijah held him. He wanted his husband to be sure that he was there for him even if he was unconscious. It has been a while and Elijah was almost about to nod off himself, but out of the corner of his eye he swore he saw Alex move. His eyes. The ghost watched at his soulmate began to wake up. “Yeah, baby. It’s real. I’m here. I got you.”
