part 2 of morrigan infoposting. today we focus on what abilities morri has. they are, technically, only half-god because of simon, but as a separated fragment of GOLB's chaos, morrigan is a full deity and embodies change, something not necessarily good or bad.

TRANSMUTATION AND TRANSFORMATION: the primary way change manifests is as morrigan's ability to change the properties of anything they can get their hands on. they can break down an object to their basic components, change its state of being (i.e. turning a solid to liquid or gas, regardless of temperature) or turn it into something else entirely by altering its chemical makeup.
PORTALS: much like GOLB(etty), morri can open up portals. they can either do this by physically ripping a hole in the fabric of reality with their claws, which is easier, or by concentrating enough to mentally punch a hole in the universe instead. in either case, morrigan cannot just go from one place to another without first traveling to their empty pocket dimension between. this means they have to open a portal, go through, and then open another portal to the desired location.
DREAMWALKING, PLANESHIFTING: morrigan's ability to dreamwalk and interact with other planes comes to them as a basic deity ability. they exist on a higher plane of existence than a mortal, and can kind of show up wherever they want as they aren't trapped. the caveat is morrigan has a physical body, so while they can dreamwalk they need to have a physical connection to their target and will go unconscious while they do so.
TIME TRAVEL: while much more difficult, with enough concentration they can portal past time. this takes a lot of effort and temporarily weakens them.
THE OLD LANGUAGE: morri is capable of understanding GOLB's speech and the language used by the primordial monsters. they're a lot less confident in speaking it, especially since mortals aren't meant to comprehend the words. they don't want to hurt anyone.
RESURRECTION: while technically morri cannot bring back the dead without disastrous consequences, they can steal the lifeforce from living things and give that vitality to someone else- provided they have enough of a connection to the person they're trying to save. this takes immense effort, and morrigan has only had to do it once.
You said Candy Simon has Simon ADN. So he will just remains him in looks only? Like not feelings/attachment/bonds or something like that?
I asked because I remembered that frame where Candy Simon says “Marcy-Bear don’t like us?”, he did feel it because, since he is somehow Simon, has some sort of attachment to her? Or did he just feel sad about it because CandySimon is just that cutie patootie lol
correct, he looks like simon but. well, legally, isn't really simon. i guess he's kind of a candy clone?
he is sad that marceline doesn't like them because PB engineered (programmed with some false memories even), him to like marceline. so from the moment he met her he adored her! perhaps a little too much, though, because he didn't realize marceline wasn't thrilled to see him.

simon himself isn't exactly.. in-tune with the saccharine nature of candy, (and he is a genius. PB has had bad experiences with when it comes to intelligence in candy people) so any time PB tried to implement a more simon-like personality things went awry. unfortunately this made candy simon even more uncanny to poor marcy.

yes but not fandoms i would want to draw mpreg for. homestuck/hiveswap is my main other fandom, and i'm mostly into homestuck for like, classpecting + the way sburb works? idk.
i'd say yeah, this is strictly an adventure time blog, at least for the forseeable future. i think simon's a special interest for me now, moreso than a hyperfixation lol.
morriposting! theyve always been a big kid. my main changes for them are with their diet and when/how their powers come in.
the little shockwave effect of them being born is now from them saving simon's life, and not from them being exhausted from the seal. simon was not going to make it through delivery, and so morrigan used their powers to keep him alive- something they weren't exactly meant to do, and as a result of this (on their end) monumental effort they essentially nerfed their powers until they resurged during late toddlerhood. this does work out in their favor, however, because morri is mistakenly labeled as a dumb, powerless baby. they were actually just very tired baby.
morri also tries a bit more to be.. average. it's difficult, because morrigan doesn't have a real concept of what being a 'normal' baby or child is like (especially since they don't hang out with humans much), and they are curious at heart. they do a lot more imitating others' behaviors now, because that's how morri came to look how they did! they imitated simon! aaand they still take longer, as time passes, to get older. once they hit adolescence they start coming back into the deity scene and really embracing it, hence the huge fashion shift.
onto the diet changes; morrigan subsists on nutrient-rich biological material (normal 'food', mostly meat, for their skin and organs), a series of metals and minerals (primarily to reinforce their bones and teeth) and magic (to aid general growth, but it also provides much more energy than food and metals do). this kid straight up eats rocks btw. they can, however, literally eat anything, due to a sort of hybridization between a human and GOLB's digestive system.
Does Simon ever miss his tail from when he was ice king or is he happy it’s gone?
..yeah he does miss that thing. especially when he's in one of his ice king funks. plus i think he gets almost like. phantom limb rarely, since he was himself with the tail + he had one for damn near a millennia, though nowadays he finds himself missing it less and less. like he thinks he's swishing his tail or, like, you close the door right behind him and he flinches or says yeowch and his brain thinks you caught his tail in the door.. + phantom pain.. he doesn't tell anyone though.
in icelag, morrigan was born hearing and grew up listening to the whispers of the crown as it took their dad away. while icelag simon holds out longer than his normal counterpart, he too succumbs, and Marceline finishes raising morrigan. morri was there for everything! with their growing interest in tech and mechanics they helped her fight vamps (though marceline was still bitten), and simon's loss was something they went through together. those whispers never stopped though, even if they weren't the target audience. going over the crown's properties with PB (who ice king was really starting to irritate) eventually led them to the conclusion that while the crown was a marvel, they weren't intertwined with its magic for no reason. it was meant to be.
they were born with its latent magic. surely they could handle it better. they were already connected. all they had to do was convince it, or maybe even trick it, to switch compatible hosts. its company sounds so nice. morri was destined to have it, and then everyone would be happy.
honestly, with morri's genius working with PB, i think they could have actually come up with a different solution. maybe one that wouldn't wind up with both them and simon dusting from old age. but morri got what they wanted in the end, which was to have the crown for themself, and also remove simon from its inner labyrinth.
this was originally part of this post but i cut it out due to it not really fitting + me wanting a specific theme. so. behold. flame queen has noooooo idea what's up with her first mate's emotions but she feels bad for the fella. i like to think while she's a bit awkward with intimacy she does try her best to subtly check in on him and even comforts him when he's particularly upset
yapping about these guys in general below the cut!
the dynamic of them in general, i think, is a bit different from canon, especially since simon actively lives with flame queen on her airship. he experiments on the crown while she sleeps. (simon also turns one of the rooms below deck into a lab/study, which flame queen permits because he's 'a good first mate.')
flame queen isn't, like, desperate to have companionship. however she likes simon a lot and thinks he's an interesting, hot guy, so they form a pretty good friendship over the series, rather than betty isolating herself to research cures for simon. crownswap simon misses his betty dearly and wants to help her, and is more than happy to stay by her side even when she's a bastardization of the woman he loved. he manages flame queen's mood swings and anger issues and while he does go along with her raiding and stealing he will apologize before, during, or after and tries to discourage her! (that being said, he is a lying liar and WILL lie, cheat and steal in order to better research the flame crown. he views it as a necessary evil.)
flame queen mostly gafs if he does his research during the day, which is First Mate Hours, and she ain't afraid to drag the landlubber from below deck to help her navigate or plot out a raid. while she thinks simon is hot and wants to kiss him she doesn't want her first mate thinking he's got some sort of grip on the captain.. so she stays casual.
also, fun fact, she totally kidnapped simon and brought him to her airship. that's how them living together started. i very vividly can imagine him explaining to slime version PB that oh, yeah, flame queen kidnapped him and brought him up here, and no, actually, he doesn't need saving, he's actually kinda all right with this.
not an ask but candy simon makes me very happy. i know theres a lot of moral implications and tension and whatnot with the candy witch. but im a big fan of a simon thats happy to have babies and be loved by his lunatic lady wife. very very cute
really was not expecting so many of you guys to like candyworld as much as you do but bingo showed me otherwise!! i would also like to ask if you have any tips on how to draw in the adventure time style?
oh boy. the reason ive never really answered a question like this is because i just kinda do stuff and dont think much about it, but i'll try.
easy answer: hyperfixation
complicated answer: still hyperfixation, but lots of practice over 3 years. i like to think of most folks as a series of circles, ovals and tubes, because generally AT is a very round show. i sorta take my favorite aspects of F+C and regular adventure time, because there are certain details in each i like better than their counterpart, and F+C is a bit less fluid than AT. though, i think i draw more in the F+C style than AT. anyways, here's a general idea of how i usually break up shapes during my sketch process, except i never save my full files so i had to draw over an existing drawing:
tubular! for me, most of capturing the feel is all in the sketch process. here's a slinkier, less structured, more AT-style sketch of betty for my next part: letting the lines and shapes relax. nothing has to be perfect. think of limbs as noodles with a kinda-joint. your lines should be flowy and loose, and the more AT style you're looking for the more of those traits your lines should have.
look at your favorite scenes and screencaps and see what you like about it and try to emulate that in style.
sorry if this isn't super clear, but i've studied this show's style and drawn it so long i guess i dont really need guidelines or even think about it anymore, especially now that im taking design liberties. also i used to be in the homestuck fandom and drew lots of bean mode. well i still am in it but you know. another thing i'd note is the proportions of those circles and tubes, even if i personally deviate from the source material, like how many heads a torso is supposed to be etc... uhh. i use a thicker line weight with thickness-by-pressure but if you REALLY wanna make it look right i'd recommend using a thin line tool with no pressure at the ends.
lastly, i wouldnt give up even if it doesnt look right. adventure time's proportions werent great 100% of the time and shit looks weird in every episode. remember F+C ep2 simon petrikov? jeeeeeeSUS there are. there are rough scenes and angles. thats about all i have to say on the topic i guess. good luck.
