Sassy Science Q&A #1 with Hettienne Park, Aaron Abrams and Scott Thompson (Fannibalfest 2018)
So I was very lucky to be able to use video taken by @solamentenic (twitter) to write this transcript! Be aware that it is not exact because spontaneous spoken language is not smooth and I made the executive decision to clean it up. Also, there were some parts where the voices were distorted and I couldn’t hear, and they were talking over each other a lot so cutting it together was a little difficult, and I had to get creative with grammar but it’s much, MUCH more accurate than it would have been otherwise! Thank you so much for the video!! ❤️
This was rather difficult to edit, particularly because not all of the jokes come out well in writing. I tried to make sure at least all the actual information was in there, and then I saved what jokes and banter that I could, but some of it was unfortunately sacrifice to the medium. If you’d like the laughs, try the videos. ^^; And as before, if there’s something off that you find, tell me and I’ll fix it! (Though do keep in mind that not every word actually made it in just to streamline things.)
With that said, here’s the panel transcript!
Hettienne Park (H)
Aaron Abrams (A)
Scott Thompson (S)
Question from Moderator/Audience (Q)
PANEL:
H: I think this is the first time we’ve all been in a room together since Hannibal ended. I met with [Aaron] while on Blindspot, and I was with [Scott] at a reading in NY, but this is the first time the three of us have gathered since.
S: did you guys talk about me?
H: Yeah, we made fun of your eyebrows.
Q: So on the Hannibal wiki, it lists Beverly as in her 30s, Brian as early 30s, and Scott as… 50. Just 50.
S: I’ll take it. It’s very clear, I like it. By the way, I’ll take it both for Jimmy and for real.
Q: What’s something you wanted to do but couldn’t do in the show?
(video cuts in here)
S: More screentime, more clothes. Just more. But I would’ve liked more clothes. I would’ve liked to have been mur- uh, I would’ve liked to have been attacked. Bryan promised me, in the first season he said “you’re gonna be stabbed at the end of the season” and then they decided not to stab me.
A: That was true. The plan was Hugh-
S: Yeah, Hugh stabbed me! Thinking I was someone else.
A: Yeah, they show Will a tape and it’s a security cam footage of him gutting Jimmy Price. I liked that story. That would have been a good story.
S: It would’ve been. What do you think it was that made Bryan go “no, Scott’s not stabbable?”
H: They obviously wanted to keep you.
S: Yeah, but I was gonna survive.
H: Ooohh…
A: But I think originally, the network wanted it to be case-of-the-week, so Bryan’s way around that was to develop storylines with the case-of-the-week type characters, the forensic people, so what we were told essentially is that eventually-
S: We were sold a lie.
A: We were sold, perhaps, a lie. But I think you can see those initial episodes and then when the network’s like, “we trust you to do whatever,” it kind of varies [and] the case of the week thing goes out of the window in like, episode 7 or something.
S: It goes out 7 windows.
A: But like, I had an affair with Freddy Lounds. That was part of a whole thing where I’m undermining the crew because I hate Will Graham or something. Like I’m so jealous of Will Graham, because I’M the boy genius, and then you got this other guy who’s, probably, a couple years older than me, but still… And then eventually, that was supposed to turn around where I was a big Will Graham supporter, and I was the guy he has a beer with. The lines I auditioned with were scenes where we’re having a beer and he’s telling me his problems and stuff. I was that character, they thought “Will Graham needs somebody to talk to.” Of course, as it turns out, he doesn’t. Hugh’s a good actor, he does it all… (wavey motions at his face) He doesn’t need it. And then you [Scott] were the guy who he was supposed to, when he’s deranged, and he’s eating an ear through a hose or whatever he was doing…
S: That’s how you eat an ear. That’s why they banned straws. But the interesting thing about this is that if they HAD keep that direction, none of you would be here, because they decided to focus more on the Hannibal/Will thing, which was good for YOU (audience), (not for me) so I blame you ALL.
A: Your goddamn sexy fanfiction.
S: That’s totally what did it! Your goddamn sexy fanfiction. You thought you had yourselves your own Shades of Grey didn’t you? Well it didn’t work out quite that way did it? Sorry, I just went on.
A: I think that’s not even entirely a joke, is the thing. I think the community, like you guys, were at least partially responsible in changing the direction of the show, or at least showing NBC that the fanbase, they don’t need a case-of-the-week, they’re not those people, they want rich weirdness.
S: Let’s put it in a kinder way. You guys, basically, wrote us out of the show. You got Hetti killed, and then in season 3, you said “hey! Let’s make Aaron and Scott… extras.” Good for you, good for you.
A: You (audience) were the Chesapeake Ripper all along.
H: We’re not bitter at ALL.
Q: What would you [Hettienne] like to have done? You didn’t get a chance to say.
H: Me? Um… Let’s see, I think I would’ve obviously liked to have gotten a shot in on Hannibal.
A: What do you mean by a shot?
H: When I got down into the basement I was lobbying- I was talking to Kessler (Michael Kessler, producer), and I was like “can’t she at least kick him in the balls or something? She’s really gonna go down there and eat it?” Like without any wounding, any fight, y'know? She’s just gonna go down there and-
Q: She’s just gonna go down there and eat it.
H: Oh my god, that sounds so bad.
Q: You’re among friends.
A: She was just begging the producers to go down there and eat it.
H: Wow. Yeah, and he was totally not into that. Wow, this is not going the way I thought it would go.
Q: You can change your answer, you can elaborate.
H: Yeah, so I wanted him to get wounded, but he kept saying that if he [Hannibal] has a wound, then people are gonna figure it out, and he’s too smart for that. There’s no way that that would ever happen.
A: Wasn’t there something off-screen? Like in people’s imaginations, there was, maybe, a fight?
H: Well I know that there was some discussion [where] there was going to be a scene after he takes me, where Hannibal is- (audience laughter) Oh my god, what is it with this like Freudian-
Q: Yeah, pretty much.
H: Oh my god I’m so embarrassed. Is my husband in the room? Not takes me, when he-
Q: Abducts. H: Abducts. I was almost gonna say eats me, and that’s terrible. Oh my god, this is so bad, what’s wrong with me? Nothing~ Um, what was I talking about? Oh yeah. Whew, it’s getting hot in here! There was gonna be a scene where Hannibal was having dinner with Lawrence after that scene, and they were gonna have a gunshot come through the floor and hit him in the leg. And he was just gonna sit there and silently bleed.
A: OOOOH.
H: And I thought, holy shit, that would’ve been amazing. And they didn’t go with that. But when they ran that by me I was like “DO IT DO IT DO IT.” But they don’t listen to me.
(slight confusion with question from non-mic-using audience member)
S: Are you gonna ask Hetti how long she’s been into cock and ball torture? (Hettienne gives a look) Well I mean you talked a lot about kicking him in the balls!
H: He has NO boundaries. (singing) Welcome to Fannibalfest~!
Q: In the scene that didn’t happen, wouldn’t he [Jack] hear the gun shot?
H: Yeah, it was gonna be something like he was getting up to go- I dunno, I’m not the writer. Um, what else would I liked to have done? I think there was definitely more with us [Sassy Science], and our backstories. You [Scott] had a twin brother, I think it would have been really cool to get that in there, and I think that there was definitely more relationship stuff between all of us-
A: I imagine your [Scott’s] American Gods character was Jimmy’s twin brother.
S: Yeah, I can only play one character [type]. Obviously.
Q: Well first of all, I just want to say that the American Gods scene you were in, I screamed and cried, it was so sad.
S: But it was such a funny death.
Q: Yeah, well it was pretty hilarious, but… my question is actually for Hettienne. What did you see in the basement?
H: They told me that what I see in the basement was the most horrific thing that I have ever laid my eyes on but they were not specific about what it was. So at that point I had no idea. I guess in retrospect perhaps it was Abigail?
A: What did you imagine, when you were playing that scene, and you were like “okay, now I’ve got to picture the most horrific thing?” What were you picturing?
H: I basically had to-
A: Scott wearing whatever.
H: Scott wearing- no.
Q: A french maid outfit.
H: Um. That wouldn’t be horrific, that would be really cute. I mean, that was a long time ago, but… I dunno, we all have those things in our lives that were messy and horrible and horrific that you don’t want to revisit, and I sort of just had to put that up on a wall. It’s more about feeling the feeling and trying to have that show on your face, as opposed to a specific image in your head. I don’t know how YOU [Aaron] work, but that’s what I do.
S: How DO you work, Aaron?
H: I just took all the horrible shit that I went through and just tried to put it up on the whatever-it-was that was on the wall. Cause they were very non-specific, wouldn’t tell me what it was, didn’t give anything away, and… I dunno, I just tried to roll with it.
Q: The Fannibals thought it was Hannibal’s kink dungeon. That’s not my question. I was wondering if you had done any research on how forensics works in the real world, or did you just go off the script?
H: When we first got there, they actually had a forensics expert there before we even started shooting. Do you guys remember? That was the first time.
S: Absolutely. The eye guy!
A: He was great, we had a few days learning all the things we had to learn, and then we… forgot.
S: It’s true. Every time I had to think I would go “what do I do again? What part’s first?”
A: And also, I’m sure real forensics people maybe watch this show and think “what are these guys doing?” but it’s so much harder than you ever see on TV, just really time consuming. You have to tag and bag and blah blah blah.
H: I mean that blood splatter stuff, they have string that you attach from the point of attack to where the blood splatters, every drop of blood. It’s insane what these guys do. So we asked a few questions, we hung out with him a little bit, he was on set for most of the season.
A: Yeah, there was a big deal about taking your glove off and you see everyone constantly doing that on the show. That was one of his golden rules. We were like “sure sure” and then his first direction’s like “take it off, and put it over there” and we were like “…yeah, alright.“
Q: I think I can add to that, it takes about 4-6 hours for an autopsy.
A: For normal people, sure, but when I do it… If it’s a two-page scene, I can do it like "bam!” Start to finish.
Q: This is for Aaron and Scott. When you were identifying the “remains” of Freddie Lounds, in front of Hannibal, were you as actors aware that you were lying? Were you informed of the twist at the end of the episode?
A: We knew that we were playing Mads. It feels weird calling him Hannibal. So when we were playing that scene, it [would make sense] if we were afraid to lie to him, because if he catches us we’re both dead, but I think for us, when we talked about it, it was just so great to be a part of it. We were like “oh! So instead of our whole team keeping things from us, we’re a part of the capture of Hannibal.” I think whenever that happens in the show, we really butch up.
Q: So as the name Sassy Science implies, you guys were known for having jokes in scene. Did you have any inside jokes on set? Or about certain scenes?
S: They might have been fun 4-5 years ago, but not anymore.
H: They were so dirty. I don’t know if there is anything we can share.
A: I can remember looking across from you [Hettienne] and we were both struggling not to laugh, but I can’t remember what it was about.
H: It was constant, it was absurd. It’s crazy to watch the show and see how dark and serious it is, because it was anything but that [to shoot].
A: Certainly because my character, whenever Will has one of his sweaty freak-outs, my character is allowed to be like “are we even fucking listening to this guy?” So sometimes I’d lock onto Hetti and just be like “look at this idiot!” And because it’s all going on in his head, in real time you would see as we were doing the scene, it takes like 10 fat seconds of just (shakes in imitation of a seizure).
S: And the best part is he’s not even looking in your eyes! Because he’s so good, but it’s like, “where are you looking?”
A: So those kinds of glances might seem appropriate, but if you’re in the wrong mood for just a split second it becomes very funny, like “this fucking idiot."
S: Oh you should tell them, there was one scene where all three of us wore crotchless panties! You have to figure out what it is, but in hindsight you can look at it and you’ll know.
Q: In "hindsight.”
Q (new person): So Hettienne I was wondering, was there any discussion about what Beverly discovered? Could it have potentially have been Miriam Lass in Hannibal’s basement?
H: I feel like there was discussion about that, but nobody could give me a definitive answer. That’s a good question, I feel like I need to text Bryan right now. Carry on.
Q: So I was watching the commentary and Bryan mentioned that Scott, you had encephalitis at one point, and I was wondering if you could tell us about it.
S: Yeah, I was actually an actor and a consultant. Yes, when I was 17, I had the same disease that Will had, encephalitis. I never went evil, but… You really want to hear this? It’s horrible, but I can make it funny. It’s a brain disease, where you brain swells. I was a lifeguard, picture that, with a speedo! And I’d had a headache for a couple of days, and then I started to hallucinate, and though there was a packed pool of kids, swimming, I somehow decided that I was going to leave. So I climbed down the lifeguard tower, left the pool, there were people coming up to me asking “what are you doing?” and I couldn’t understand them, so I left the pool, I changed out of my speedo (I know you [Aaron] were picturing me in my speedo), and I went home. My parents and my brothers weren’t home, and I didn’t know what was wrong with me but I was kind of hallucinating. I crawled into my bed and then the next thing I remember was hours later, I guess I passed out, but my father was banging on the door and then my brothers came in and I was covered in vomit, and I started vomiting on myself… Which I did [sometimes], as a party trick! But anyways, long story short they took me to the hospital, they gave me a spinal tap, and the doctors really saved my life. When they brought me in they knew I was very ill, but I didn’t know, so I was in the hospital for a while. I got it from a mosquito. There was minor brain damage. But I think it was the right kind of brain damage. Because afterwards, my grades plummeted, but I got funnier. So it’s a trade-off. It was called equine encephalitis.
A: That’s really how you got it?
S: Yeah, from a mosquito. There was a, not a plague, but a period in North America where it was all over the place. There were two kids in my school who got it, and the girl that got it died, and I lived. So that’s my encephalitis story. It took me a long time to get over it. There’s no cure for it, maybe there is now, but there wasn’t back then. That’s one thing they were correct about [in the show], there’s no cure, you just make it or you don’t. But my encephalitis wasn’t nearly as colorful as Will’s. I didn’t go evil. But since then I’ve had even worse things! Encephalitis was a cake-walk. I look back on those times and think, “god, those were good days!"
Q: I know that you guys know that fanfiction exists. I was wondering if you had ever read one beginning to end, even a short fic? It doesn’t have to be Hannibal, or "steamy,” or anything, but I just wanted to know if you were ever curious enough to be like, “what are these people doing?”
S: Have you read them [Hettienne]?
H: Yeah, I’ve read them, I’ve read the really sexy ones. I mean, haven’t you [Scott]? Don’t pretend like you haven’t.
A: I’ve read twelve full-length novels.
S: I’ve actually written a novel myself, one that I haven’t shown anyone. I’m kidding. I never actually got through to the end of any of them. I got to the part where it gets dirty, but I just didn’t want to look at him [Aaron] that way. I just don’t want to change the chemistry.
H: Who are you all of a sudden?
S: I’m trying out this new persona, what do you think?
H: It doesn’t suit you. I like the dirty you.
A: For the first season, he was obsessed with… tentacle porn. No. What was it?
S: I used to read aloud a lot of the books I would get on my Kindle, and I was fascinated with- some of you might be into this, I don’t know- I was fascinated with dinosaur porn! There’s a series of books about a woman who’s in love with the Loch Ness Monster! And she has sex with him! Because he has this long, raspy sandpaper tongue. Do you know this one [Q]?
Q: There’s also big foot porn.
S: But this is a sea monster! And it’s a reptile!
A: We all know big foot is sexy. The loch ness monster is different.
S: She just sits on the end of the dock, and, first of all, no one dangles their legs in a Scottish lake! Unless they need to be frozen for a medical procedure! But you don’t just dangle you feet into the lake. And then Nessie comes between her legs! And gets her to orgasm!
H: Let’s move on! We’ve got a lot of questions.
Q: I was wondering, what was your-
S: AND she has intercourse with the monster! Just saying! Full intercourse! Go ahead. But! She comes back the next day, I’m just saying…
Q: Um, what was your-
S: And it’s illustrated! And he’s cut! The monster is circumcised! I like my monsters natural. I’m sure you ladies agree. Alright, I apologize for everything.
H: Our next question please!
Q: I was wondering, what was your favorite cadaver to be in the room with on the show (each of you)?
S: Is it wrong to say the charred child?
H: God, that was so bad! Did you guys see that? That was messed up.
A: We said this a lot, but that was the only time that we said, “this won’t air” and it actually was true. That one did not air.
H: Do you mean favorite or most disturbing? Favorite, like we enjoyed it?
S: Do you mean sexiest corpse? Do you remember crackling?
H: What?
S: I told this story before.
H: That was sexy?
S: Well, I couldn’t stop touching- Nowadays I would’ve gotten in trouble.
A: He was a very handsome cadaver and he happened to be crackling. Here’s a sentence I never thought I’d get to say in real life! He was a handsome cadaver and he happened to be crackling!
H: Do you guys know what they’re talking about?
S: He was a black guy, do you remember that? And he’s the one who falls off the cliff?
H: Oh!!
S: And I forgot he was a human being, and Aaron said “Scott, stop picking things off him!” And I thought “oh gosh, this is a person! I should stop.”
A: That was one of various, yadda yadda yadda, Scott insulted a guy-
H: But that wasn’t like a tableau, that was just the hot extra on set.
S: Yeah, but he was an ACTOR.
A: I liked the bee guys. I know they’re not really cadavers because they were just brain dead, but those guys- with the honey pouring out of their eyes and mouths- were the grossest.
H: The mushrooms too, that was pretty gross. Do you guys remember the mushroom cadaver? I don’t know if that was my favorite, but that was the one that really grossed me out.
S: I also liked the totem pole. That was beautiful.
A: A 70-year-old man just popped out, drove a couple of hours in the middle of the night, went down to the beach in- where was that state?- West Virginia, and built a 300-person totem pole.
H: It was so cold that day, do you remember? I’ve never seen Lawrence Fishburne run so fast in my life.
A: We had to shoot that way down on the beach, and the warm up stuff was all the way back, so when they would yell “cut” everyone would run. Because it was such a large circular shot and we were first [in it], [on] the jigsaw line about putting pieces together, and finding the corners, and then [the camera] moved on to someone else, [so] then we, when the camera wasn’t on us, were already running. Running back to the warm tent. Because you couldn’t be out there for [long], it was awful. There were so many so cold days.
H: It was so fun, but it was so cold.
S: They decided to make Hannibal during the three coldest years in Canada’s entire history.
H: What was your [Q] favorite?
Q: I wasn’t expecting to have to answer my question. I think I also like the bee guy who’s attached to the tree.
A: So I win. I won, right? What do I get?
Q: I wanted to know what you [Hettienne] thought about Beverly’s murder tableau.
H: I remember Bryan sending me the mock-up for it. He sent me a video animation of what he was envisioning, and I was like “HOLY SHIT.” And he described it to me, and it didn’t really hit me until I showed up on set and I saw the individual slices.
A: How did they do that to you? How did they make a cast? What was that process like?
H: First of all, they kept asking me if I wanted a model, someone else to step in for me to make the cast, and I kept thinking “how are you going to find someone who’s my body type?” So I said “that’s weird! No, I’ll do it, I can do it. What’s the big deal?” And nobody explained to me that this was a 10+ hour process. They never mentioned that. And then I showed up and they have to do each body part separately. So first they have to take a cast of one body part, and then they paint on the silicone, so it’s sort of a two-process thing with each part, and it takes 45 minutes per part. And it was fine up until we got to my torso and then my head. So when they did my head, you have to sit there, and they have from your chest up, so you can’t move, and they put straws up your nose, so you can breath, and they close up your mouth and your eyes and they fill up your ears.
S: We know where this is going.
H: And I had to sit there for 45 minutes, after I had done each limb, right? So when they were doing my leg, I was like “yeah, this is totally fine, what the hell, why did they ask if I wanted a model, I can do this!” And then they did my [other] leg and my arm, my arm, my torso- and my torso was kind of hard because I have a bad back- but when they got to the head, they were like “okay so listen… sometimes people freak out, it’s totally fine.” And I was like, “what do you mean?” And they were like, “well, we have to close up your eyes, put in some straws-” “What are the straws for?” “So you can breathe-” “BREATHE?” And they just said, “if it’s really bad, give us a thumbs down.” I was like “WHAT?” And then they’ll saw it off! So at that point I was a little bit anxious because I had this back pain, so I asked, “do you guys have any alcohol? Just a little something to calm me down,” because I don’t want to mess this up, right? I volunteered to do this, I’m tough, I can do it. So they gave me some alcohol, which probably made it worse, right? And some other stuff that I’m not gonna talk about.
S: Well you’ve already got straws in your nose. Halfway there.
H: So anyways, there’s a cast on you, and then they put the silicone on top, but the cast as it’s drying, it starts to squeeze a little. So I think I was about halfway through when I started to panic and they were yelling, “you okay? you okay?” and it’s kind of muffled, and I was like thumbs up, thumbs up, and then I started doing thumbs down because I started having some anxiety. And they went, “we’re so close! If we saw it off we’re going to have to reconstruct it from scratch, can you just hang in there?” So anyway, I toughed it out. They did tell me that there was another actor in the show who totally bailed out and they had to saw it off of his face and they made me swear up and down to never tell you who it was.
A: Wait a minute, but you guys can figure that out though right? You guys are smart, you guys are real detectives. Who would have needed a cast of his face?
(names thrown out over the course of this time include: Hugh, Mads, Raul Esparza, Michael Pitt)
H: Oh god you’re gonna get me in so much trouble! I will tell you it was not Hugh. It was not any of the main cast. Not Mads, not Hugh. I cannot tell you, I promised I wouldn’t tell, but I was very proud that I held out. It was brutal, I would not do that again. That’s the thing, they never need to do it again. If they ever need it for something else, they can just contact the people who did it the first time.
A: So we should just do it now and get it done.
Q: So one thing I never thought I’d say but thanks Scott for making me feel less weird about dinosaur erotica.
S: Well it was my pleasure.
Q: So go back in time, Bev’s still alive. We’ve got Team Sassy Science, all together in the basement. How do you guys take down Hannibal?
S: We don’t.
H: These two would go running, screaming and crying.
A: Hetti goes from the front, we go from behind… Hetti guts him.
S: We hold him.
A: It’s a great question, but we’re toast, everybody. He turned off the lights! You’re powerless against the darkness. It’s over.
Q: You could draw him [out] with something, so when he’s going after one-
A: Yeah, you could trick Hannibal by like, eating foie gras with my fingers, he’d be like “ugh! Oh no!” Just stun him that way, by constantly doing very gauche things. That’s his weakness, his kryptonite. “Ugh, ending a sentence in a proposition!"
S: Well, but Hannibal seeing you eating foie gras with your fingers wouldn’t kill him, it’d just give him a heart attack.
Q: Can I talk now?
S: (fake offended) Oh PLEASE do! Please go on! We’re all DYING to hear it. Please, let this lady speak. (to Hettienne) Can you believe it?
H: I applaud it.
A: I’m so afraid to answer this question.
Q: I’m sorry Scott, I’m sure you have a lot to contribute to this, but I was looking forward to hearing [Hettienne’s] perspective. One of the things my wife and I enjoyed about the show, being fans of the books, was seeing the genderswapping going on with some of the characters, getting Alana and Freddie as females, and also having you as a character for representation. So your death was very impactful and I read a lot of what you said at the time about how you felt like it was necessary and it was done in a way that was respectful, but I just wanted to know a little bit about your thoughts for what that meant for representation, both for people of color and as a woman.
S: This is for me? It should probably be for Hetti.
H: I stand by what I wrote in my post in response to that. I feel like it was true to the story and I understood why the decision was made. It did happen a little sooner I think than Bryan intended simply because I was supposed to be killed off at the end of season 1, and just the way that the show played out, the story and the timing of it wasn’t right, so then his plan was to kill me off at the end of season 2. Contractually things got a little sloppy and messy, and they didn’t want me around for that long, so he was forced to kill me off earlier, and I think he made it work, because he’s a genius. But as far as what it means, that’s really a tough question to answer. I really don’t have that much control over the decisions that they make. I don’t really know how much control Bryan really had over the decisions that were made by the network. It is a show about a serial killer who eats people, and they very deliberately wanted to have someone killed that people cared about so that [the audience] can become more invested in the show, which was a successful move. I would’ve preferred if it was one of these two [Aaron and Scott]. But the fact that I was cast in the first place in a role that wasn’t calling for asian, and it sucks that I have to give him a pat on the back for that- I wish this wasn’t a time when I had to say "oh, thank you so much for letting me play this [character]!” That sucks. But that’s the reality that we live in. And I think we are all hungry for more roles that represent who we are, we want to see more women who aren’t on the screen for being sexy or a love interest or being a side note, and as minorities, or whatever. I think we’re all hungry for that. But they’re also trying to figure out how to, I don’t know, sell their advertising dollars at the same time, and they don’t really know what’s going on with what we’re doing, but stuff like this [con] sends a message, you know? The fact that we’re still meeting after all these years the show’s not been on the air, that sends a message, it says something. And [with] everything that’s going on right now politically, I think that somebody’s paying attention. The people in the writer’s room are human beings as well. And I think that when that landscape changes, we’re going to see a change on screen as well. But that’s a heavy [topic].
Q: Sorry.
H: No, don’t apologize! I really appreciate the question, it’s just hard, because as an actor, especially in my position, I don’t have the luxury to pick and choose my jobs. I try to. Like if I get something that seems overtly racist or wrong, I don’t give a shit what it is or how much it pays, I’m not going to do it. But I’m lucky that I can do that, because a lot of actors can’t. I’m really trying to figure out what I want to say as an artist, and what kind of roles I want to play, what I’m going to be proud of, and now I’m a mom, I [have] a kid, and I want him to be proud of the stuff that I do, I want you guys to feel good about what we’re doing. It’s tricky. And we need more of you guys to come forward and create and write stuff and help us move this in the right direction. I don’t think that Bryan- you guys, I feel, have a good relationship with him, through social media and the times you’ve met him face-to-face - he’s not the one responsible for sending any kind of negative message, he’s the total opposite. So I understood the upset with him. We’re heading in the right direction. And thanks to you guys, I think we’ll get there.
Q: I think that’s it.
A: Did Bryan get back to you?
H: Oh my god I wasn’t even looking at my phone.
S: I was. Very interesting.
H: He didn’t answer the question, but he said “I wish I was there, I fucking love you guys."
S: You should say "you’ll have love once you answer the question.” And throw me under the bus, that’s fine.
H: To be continued. I’ll let you know what he says.
OUR MISSION
“The jigsaw piece that I cut from my subjects was only ever meant to be a symbol that the subject was missing something. A vital piece of the human puzzle. The survival instinct.” - John Kramer
Much has been said about John Kramer. The flesh is finite. His work, his legacy, is the gospel that wakes us from our stupor and gives our lives purpose as the clock continues to count down. I have followed his teachings and learned from his philosophy, and I have dedicated my life to dissecting, testing, and understanding that “vital piece”.
Jigsaw becomes legion: a horde of disciples who understand a life is measured not in increments but by a single defining moment. How many of us truly know what we are capable of until we are given the ultimate choice: Live or Die? How many of us crave the clarity only the games can provide? How much of your own blood are you willing to spill, how many pounds of flesh are you willing to shed, to be free?
This world is suffering. You are suffering. But you are not alone. Not anymore.
Let the games begin.
Silent Hill or Resident Evil?
I’m not super familiar with either tbh
I enjoy both but I definitely think the former’s something more within your wheelhouse.
I told this Joke to my extremely religious father and his first reply was “funny but don’t tell it to your mother”

I'm a big fan of Rob Zombie's Halloween movies, but until reading your fics, I never really thought about Laurie/Annie before. Now I think they might be my first real otp. You write them as such a sweet couple, it actually makes me kind of sad for what could have been. Keep up the great work. :)
Thank you! I’m so glad you liked the fics enough for them to sway you over to the Annie/Laurie OTP. I’m always happy to have a new follower to talk about them with :)
Not a problem, it’s a credit to how wonderfully you write them! It’s definitely different from the films themselves, and yet at the same time almost never OOC, which is truly a feat sometimes when it comes to fanfic.
theory: the rest of the world in the Mad Max universe is totally fine and Australia just did that

I'm only saying this for your sake, but objectively, it's not a smart idea to bring politics into normal hobbies. You might lose supporters of your blog just because of your political stance, and that would be terrible since you're so amazing!! It's only a suggestion, but I really reccomend not bringing politics into anything.
So, I’m thinking of nabbing up the core series Pokemon games from Generation IV onward... I’m just wondering if anyone could suggest which versions I should get for each? I know I’m gonna grab up Platinum, SoulSilver and OmegaRuby, but does anyone have any recommendations on the others? Thanks.
Based on the script by David J. Schow, The Crow is a fan novelization written by Jeanette Barcroft that tells the story of a man brutally murdered that comes back to life as an undead avenger of his and his fiancée's murder.
I am currently in the process of reading this myself, but thus far it is proving to be an amazing read! It is very poetic and to me, it adds more characterization to both Albrecht and Sarah. Now there used to be a PDF version of this that you could download, but I can’t seem to find it anymore. :(
If you’re still looking for it, I think I have a PDF of this somewhere.
