I recently finished reading @nebrasska-alasska's fanfic 'From the Shadows of the Deep', which was just amazing (highly recommended). I love love loved that fanfic. My EMOTIONS. There's such an atmosphere to that fic that I can't put into words but was just obsessed with (though if I try I guess I'd describe that atmosphere as 'deep, echoing and intimate').

My personal epilogue of 'The Kraken' and Sonic 'reuniting' a while after their discussion about Shadow's Doom Morph ability (and how it's essentially just a smaller version of the Kraken.) I just needed to purge the closure of Sonic being a dumb smitten himbo about seeing his squid lover 'again', and Shadow just tolerating it because he remembers how much sweeter he was to Sonic when he was stuck in that form :')
