Reid shot him a look before going to get the food. Once back, he handed the bags over as he went to get them something to drink. “I’m thinking wine tonight…” he said, grabbing out a bottle from the fridge to pour for them. “And I’m not going to do some overly elaborate proposal for you.” Reid told him as he made his way back with their glasses. “Everyone knows I’d never ask so they’d know it was staged. I’m the girl in this relationship.” He laughed, leaning over to kiss his now fiance on the cheek before sitting down. “After we eat, you can go get the ring though because i’m super excited to see it!”

Sebastian smiled innocently at Reid’s look.  “You know me, I’m fine with wine every night. Ever meal. In between meals.” He huffed out a small laugh and nodded his head. “You have a point there. I’m sure just saying we’re engaged literally everyone we know will assume I was the one that proposed.”

He rolled his eyes at the demand. “Yes, honey,” he teased with exaggerated affection in his voice. “So this is what married life is like...”

Reid kept his eyes on the other, just listening to him. “And yet you chose to ask me while i’m playing with your hair. How romantic.” he teased before leaning in to kiss him. “I mean, if you wanted to go through the whole be proposal, I can act surprised if you had people planned to take pictures or there to witness…” he rambled off just as their doorbell rang for the food. “I got it.” He grinned, leaning in to kiss him again before getting up to get their food. He thanked the driver before closing the door and made his way back to his now fiance. 

Sebastian rolled his eyes at his love. “I already proposed, I’m not doing it again for a camera. You can tell people it was more romantic than this though if you want.” He sat up when Reid returned with the food and reached out to help him with the bags. “Or if you want to stage some sort of overly elaborate proposal for me, I promise I’ll say yes.”

Reid’s heart started to pound the moment Sebastian rolld off him. He watched him and could feel his hear rate increase even more, if that was even possible. Reid couldn’t help but laugh hearing him ask if this was a better position for him. He easily let the other take hold of his hands, the smile coming back onto his face. He laughed again, the tears starting to well up in his eyes now. “Of course I’ll marry you.” He said through them, lunging forward to tackle the other in a hug followed by a kiss. “Ring or not.. I’m yours.” He said with a smile.

Sebastian wrapped his arms around Reid and clung to him just as hard as he was being clung to in return. “I had an actual proposal planned out, you know,” he said, wanting Reid to know that this wasn’t a spur of the moment decision for him. “I asked your brothers for advice and everything... took me two weeks to pick out the ring.”

Reid’s hand stopped as he listened to the other again. He really couldn’t believe this was happening right now. With Sebastian laying on the couch and him playing with the other’s hair. “Are you being serious right now? because if you are, the answer is for sure yes. If you’re not, you might get your hair pulled…”

Sebastian resisted the urge to roll his eyes and instead rolled off the couch to land on his knees at Reid’s feet. He lifted one leg up to plant his foot on the floor and left the other knee down in the proper position. “Is this better for you?”

He grabbed Reid’s hand in both of his and stared into his eyes. “The ring’s in my office, but I think you should be able to tell by now that I’m serious even without it. Marry me,” he demanded again.

Reid didn’t know what to say. Instead he just kept playing with the other’s hair. He turned his eyes back down to watch what he was doing, just waiting for Sebastian to say something now or for the food to get there. His focus snapped back when Sebastian spoke again. “Say yes now?” He questioned, not understanding. “What do you mean say yes now?”

Sebastian closed his eyes and sighed. Leave it to his adorable boyfriend to ruin their perfect moment by not understanding. He opened his eyes again after a moment and locked onto Reid’s.

“I mean, marry me.”

Reid noticed the other’s face as he listened to what he was saying. He didn’t really know what he said, but Reid could tell it was bad. Especially once the other huffed and spoke again. He bit down on his bottom lip and shook his head a little, looking back up from the other to the blank tv ahead of him. “Well, no. I just..” He shrugged a little, glancing down to the other. “I don’t know. I just thought that maybe once day we’d get married. I don’t know when that would be, that’s why I said one day. That could be years and years down the line. I don’t know. I probably shouldn’t have said anything. Sorry.”

Sebastian immediately regretted his words and wanted to take that horribly sad look off of his love’s face. He contemplated just giving him an apology and moving on, but something was telling him otherwise. Those stupid romantic movies and shit always talked about there being the perfect moment, that you’d just know it when it came, right. Well, this was as good a moment as any other.

“Or it could be this year. If you said yes... now.”

Reid looked to the other and laughed a little. “Because I would. They might want a sleepover with Cool Uncle Reid and Cool Uncle Sebastian.” He told him, a big grin on his face. Reid knew he had baby fever. He had for a couple of years now, ever since Blaine and David had got married. But he was patient and waited for it.

Reid moved his hand a little to the other side of his head to massage that side of his scalp as well. “well true, but one day we will be.” He said, looking down to him with a smile. He picked up on that yet and it made him hopeful that maybe one day he and Sebastian would be getting married. Especially since he knew that Sebastian had been so against it when they started dating. But to hear him say yet, made him hopeful. “Could you imagine our kids though? I mean, they’d be so spoiled. I’m not even going to lie.”

Sebastian scrunched up his face a bit as he processed Reid’s reply. ‘One day we will be,’ he said, like it was just a fact. He found that to be pretty rude considering how long he’d agonized over whether or not Reid would say yes when he asked. And here the other man was just saying it casually without a care in the world. He huffed in annoyance, completely glossing over the topic of their future spoiled children, because of course they would be.

“One day we will be? You’re sounding pretty confident there. Planning on asking me something sometime soon?” And to be completely honest if Reid was planning on upstaging him by asking first there was going to be hell to pay.

Reid kept his hand working on Sebastian’s hair as he spoke. “But babe. How can I not go thinking about one of our own. I mean, not right now. But sometime in the future. We’d be great parents.” Reid said, grinning a little since he knew Sebastian wasn’t really a fan of talking about these things. “but two babies coming should hold me over for a while. We can watch them and give them back when they start to get sad or mad.”

Sebastian just chuckled. “Why do I feel like that’s not true at all? I wouldn’t put it past you to try to kidnap your own niece or nephew just to keep them for a little longer.” He didn’t deny that they’d be great parents though. The thought absolutely terrified him, but he knew that if and when the time came he’d step up to the challenge.

“Honestly though, Reid. You’ve got serious baby mania. We’re not even married yet and you probably have all our future children’s names picked out and ready to go, don’t you?”

He laughed for a moment at his joke and then went a little stiff. That wasn’t... Okay, sure, he’d said YET as if he was planning for them to be soon, which, he was, but Reid wouldn’t necessarily pick up on that... right?

Sebastian peaked an eye open so he could get a look at Reid’s face as he started to ramble. It was one of his favorite sights. He chuckled and lightly shook his head. “Just be careful with the baby fever. Don’t go getting any ideas about getting one of your own.”

Reid rolled his eyes listening to the other. He kept his eyes on the other, watching his reaction as he played with his hair. “Such a pitty to be winning and earning money.” He laughed a little, leaning down to place a kiss on the other’s lips before sitting back up.

Reid hummed a little, massaging the other’s scalp some. “Well, you know the kinds of things I like so I’ll trust you with whatever you order for me.” He said before tilting his head to the side. “A fancy dinner party? We could do that. Probably sooner rather than later since babies are on their way!” He said excitedly. “And it’ll give Blaine a reason to dress up again now that his premieres are over.”

Sebastian nodded his head, “Yes, I know, I’m absolutely swimming in despair over it right now. Hand me a hundred dollar bill for me to wipe my tears on, babe.”

He let out a soft moan at the wonderful massage and quickly finished up the order before tossing his phone to the side and closing his eyes again to fully enjoy it. “Yes, a fancy dinner party. Maybe next week?” If his eyes had been open he’d have rolled them at the mention of the babies. “Definitely before the babies. I don’t need you going crazy over them during dinner.”

“Why don’t you care about it?” he asked curiously, looking down to the other. Reid couldn’t help but laugh at how non-subtle the other was. “I mean, only if you’re okay with it.” Reid said, rolling his eyes as he started messing with his boyfriend’s hair while looking to the menu on his phone. “Are you looking at fancy stuff or just like baguette sandwiches?”

“It’s boring,” he immediately answered. He sighed and momentarily closed his eyes as he enjoyed Reid’s fingers in his hair. “It requires a lot of leg work but there’s no challenge, I already know I’m going to win. First world problems, I know. Poor rich lawyer is tired of winning.” He huffed out a laugh as he scrolled through the restaurants.

“You know I’m always looking at the fancy stuff, babe. It’s rooted into my personality. Which reminds me. We should throw a dinner party soon, invite your brothers and your parents.” Of course, it would end up being an engagement party, but Reid didn’t have to know that yet.

He moved his hands to rest over the other’s side and gently rubbed over his arm. “I’m sorry you had a horrible day, baby. Anything you can talk about?” He asked him. Reid laughed a little and nodded. “You do love your French food. Pull up a GrubHub menu and we’ll get someone to deliver it.”

“Oh, nothing in particular,” he sighed out. “Just putting a lot of hours into a case I don’t particularly care about.” He had quite a few thoughts concerning his career running through his head, but he figured that was for another time. He wanted the next few weeks to just be about them.

He pulled out his phone and glanced up at Reid while the app loaded. “Feel free to play with my hair,” he suggested, forgoing subtly.

Reid made his way back inside the house after walking Gaston. He had spent some time outside with the pup while giving him time to do his business. He had just sat down on the couch when he heard Sebastian come into the room. He smiled and nodded his head. “Just got back. He did his business and we took a little walk beyond that before heading home.” Reid told him with a smile.

“Did you have any idea what you wanted for dinner? I didn’t pull anything out of the freezer so we’ll either have to go somewhere or call something in unless you just want leftovers?” Reid asked, turning his head so he could face the other a little better. He had no idea what the other had just been doing upstairs before he came home and Reid had no idea what was going to happen within the next couple of days.

He leaned down once he reached Reid on the couch to give him a greeting kiss. “Good. I’m exhausted after a terrible day at work and as much as I love Dog, he is way too energetic without that walk. I was fearing the worst.” He sighed dramatically for emphasis and then flopped down to lay on Reid’s legs.

“I’m feeling a pull for French right now, then again, when am I not? Anything but pizza or Chinese would do I think.”

Sebastian had spent two whole fucking weeks looking for the right ring to give Reid. He honestly had no idea how much trouble it was going to be to get such a tiny item. So many styles, designs, colors, and stones. Not to mention there was the supposed three month salary rule. With the money he made there was no damn ring that cost that much. Even if there were he was sure Reid wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing millions on his finger.

In the end he’d settled on matching Elysium diamond and 14k rose gold. They were simple, elegant and beautiful. At around ten thousand for the pair it wasn’t as if he were cheaping out, but it was a price he knew Reid would be much more willing to wear around.

With a sigh he tossed the ring boxes back into his desk drawer and headed for the living room. No reason to keep staring at them with only a few more days to go before the big proposal.

“Babe, did you take Gaston out for a walk yet?”
