of the many many praiseworthy things that the hierarchy series has, i think the fact that each vis version was operating off of such limited information was by far the coolest (and most ironic). one has to spend the entire book trying to kill god and then another finds out that oops! we needed god alive actually lol. the third didn't even realize he was on a different world for like 500 pages. everyone is living and dying but bi twunk vis is eternal

Ulciscor had weirdly high expectations, for his extremely mid plan to: blackmail a random teenager into figuring out how his brother died. His success was thanks to his parents, arrange marrying him off to his problematic-age-gap-terrorist-wife (because he was making the family broke) who happened to be the talent scout of all time.

The Will of the Many is such a wild book because on one hand, Vis is sometimes lowkey Mary Sue coded, but at the same time, idgaf. Like yes, go off my wet rat of a dethroned bisexual prince who always comments in his head about how beautiful men and women are the first time he meets them. Fight off insanely more well-equiped and stronger enemies with your sheer rage and battle prowess. Be a know it all with your random niche knowledge of esoteric philosophers that have been banned in this empire. Go have chemistry with literally every other major side character in the text besides the one Islington tries to force you to have sex with, king. I will read 700 pages of this twunk trying to survive this strange academy *happily*
