London, a song by Candy Says on Spotify
FF18 #1 Candy Says - London
And this is the one you can’t actually listen to. Sorry about that. I’m just going to leave you with the review from Oxford’s premier monthly music rag, Nightshift (cheers Ronan!), just because I couldn’t write it any better myself:
“There’s a moment in ‘London’, the lead track on Candy Says’ comeback EP where Julia Walker soars above the clockwork clutter of benignly haunted toys and buzzing electropop, pure and plaintive, a simple line, “Oh, I need air,” and you think: “that is really something special.” The song is a work of art, it really is. And you know what – it’s not even the best track on the EP.”
(It is, actually).
Oh. Also contains these sublime lines:
“I spent the whole day, thinking about you Now when you kissed me, I stayed kissed Oh what would I give you To remember this?”
I’m sure it will be online eventually, but in the meantime, it’s all mine, bitches.
(DM me if you want the .mp3 …. shhhhh)
