“Hey, no judgment here, I mean it, babe. Just wanted to PREPARE myself before I peeked.” SHe looked towards the screen when Malina moved it towards her a soft “awe” slipped from her lips. “These are CUTE.”

“well that is definitely not a thing for me.” malina spoke, shaking her head but she was somewhat amused now. “i know! which is my entire issue in trying to decide.”

Todd looked at Malina with a loving smile on his lips. Tilting his head a little to the side, he looked at the redhead and grinned as a light-sounded laugh fell from her mouth, while the dog looked around in front of them. I don’t think Rory would ever let you forget he exists. He laughed and nodded, reaching out and patted the top of the dog’s head, before rubbing his fingers against the back of his left ear. “I would never forget about Rory,” he said, his voice soft and gentle, as well as friendly and approachable. “So, are we staying in tonight then, yeah?” he questioned as he looked at the redhead again. 

malina lent up and pressed her lips to his cheek, only laughing a little as she brought her hand up to wipe off the slightest mark of her lipstick. “us living together, you’ll have rory wanting to cuddle all the time.” she replied, grinning at him. “definitely staying in tonight.”

I just wish he had told me, I never pushed to know. Adelaide swallowed and nodded, feeling his heart break a little at the words coming from her older sister as she had pulled her knees up to her chest. It’s okay. I mean… Looking up my boyfriend isn’t the best thing you could have done but, I get it. “I just wanted to make sure that you’re okay. That you won’t get you heart broken, you know? That’s what sisters are supposed to do, aren’t they?” she said and tilted her head a little to the side while looking at the redhead. “Also, I’m sure he will tell you, Mal. Just… Give him some time. I mean, it’s not like he told me, either, you know? I snooped.”

malina smiled a little, “you thought dylan of all people would break my heart?” she asked, tilting her head a little bit. she didn’t think that was likely to happen, or maybe she believed in him so much that that was why. “you know it’ll go both ways right? i’m going to make sure that no one breaks your heart either.” the girl nodded her head, “i know i know.. it just worries me that he went through that and i just.. never knew.”

Biting her bottom lip, Adelaide nodded and looked at her hands that rested on top of the mattress they were both sitting on. “I’m sure he wanted to tell you, Mal. I mean, it’s not something you just pull out in a conversation, you know? And, who knows, maybe it’s really difficult for him to talk about? I know I shouldn’t have looked into it, and I regret doing that, but… I needed to make sure that things were alright before you two began your relationship again. You are always going to be my number one priority. Even if I do like Dylan.”

“no.. i-i know that. i just..” she shook her head, drawing her lip between her teeth as she pulled her knees to her chest and turned her head to face her sister. “i just wish he had told me, i never pushed to know.” she gave a tiny smile to adelaide, “it’s okay. i mean.. looking up my boyfriend isn’t the best thing you could have done but, i get it.”

Discussing how we’re going to move in together, visiting an aquarium, sounds like the perfect weekend. “Yeah, it really does sound like the perfect weekend, don’t it? We can make something to eat and just, I don’t know, have a night in. Just the two of us. Oh, and Rory, of course.” 

her smile was wide, happy as she looked at him. “that just sounds even more perfect.” a light laugh left her lips as she looked at her dog running around in front of them. “i don’t think rory would ever let you forget he exists.”

Dylan chuckled softly as Malina said she had been working up to ask him herself. “Great minds think alike, huh?” he said and laughed as he leaned in and kissed her on the top of her head, and pulling her close to him in the process. Looking at Rory, having no worries whatsoever, made him smile even more as they continued to walk down the park. “We can spend the weekend discussing the changes and whatnot.” 

“i think we definitely do, babe.” she laughed softly, wrapping an arm around his waist as she pressed a kiss to his cheek. right now, malina was even happier than she had been before. truly it was like she and dylan were back to how they had been before they had ended. “discussing how we’re going to move in together, visiting an aquarium, sounds like the perfect weekend.”

I - he never told me. I don’t - oh my god. “Shit, shit, shit. I’m… I’m so sorry, Mal, I thought you knew. He was in the hospital. They beat him up pretty badly, I just… I thought that since you had been in contact the whole time, that maybe he had told you.” 

“no no.. i-- i saw him again when he was hurt but he never.. he never told me why and you know i’m not the type to push but i can’t believe..” she trailed off, the thought that dylan had been hurt that way broke her heart.

I’d love to move in with you, Dylan. “Yeah?” he said and grinned, nodding his head happily at the words coming from the redhead’s mouth. “I don’t know how we’d do it. If we were to move into your place, or mine or… My place is probably a little small, but… We can figure that stuff out, right? I mean…”

“absolutely! we can work it all out.” malina’s grin matched his, a happy little sparkle in her eyes as she looked up at him. “i can’t believe you asked me first though, i’m happy of course but i was totally working up to asking you myself.”

Adelaide’s face fell. “You.. You didn’t know? Shit. I… I thought…” She swallowed and blinked, looking around as she tried to figure out what to say next. “Dylan was attacked in New York. They broke his fingers and beat him up pretty badly. I… I thought he had told you, Mal, I… I heard some rumors and I snooped around a little bit. That’s how I found out…”

her gaze was set on her sister for a long, quiet moment, where her lips were slightly parted and she was searching for something. ultimately, she licked her lips before her gaze dropped to her hands. “i-- he never told me. i don’t-- oh my god.”

What is it? Dylan looked at Malina, knowing he should tell her about what happened to him back in New York. “I… I thought that, maybe, um… I wanted to ask if you would want to, uh, maybe move in with me? Again? Only if you want to though, of course, I mean, I know it’s a big step and…”

malina paused midstep, but used that last bit to turn her body to face him. he seemed nervous, which worried her so she squeezed his hand lightly. though then he was asking that question and a smile came to her face once more. one of her hands came up to her cheek as she pressed her lips to his in a soft kiss. “i’d love to move in with you, dylan.”

“I really think so.” Adelaide looked at Malina as she sat down next to her on the bed. Well, I got a really good offer for a job here and I wasn’t going to ask Dylan to leave what he was doing. She nodded as she listened to her sister explain what had happened. “I see. And, how is he doing now? I mean, I heard what happened… The attack, and whatnot. Is he okay? Is he playing again?” she asked worryingly. 

her smile was soft at her sisters admittance, her belief that she and dylan belonged together. it was nice to hear honestly. her lips parted, a reply ready on her tongue when adelaide’s words fully caught up to her. “what attack?”

“ –– Yeah? That could be really fun,” Dylan spoke and smiled brightly as they continued down the park. “I haven’t been to the aquarium here, so that could definitely be a lot of fun,” he said and nodded, throwing a stick in front of them, for Rory to take hold of. Biting his bottom lip, he looked over at Malina. “Um, I… I wanted to ask you something,” Dylan said and cleared his throat a little nervously. 

her smile stretched wider, brightening at his agreement. “i haven’t been to one in years, i’ll have a look and find one later, but it will definitely be fun!” already, she was excited for it. her head tilted as she pulled her gaze from a happy and playful rory to dylan once more. “what is it?”

“ –– I’m glad to hear that, Mal. You two belong together. You know, you’re the ones who made me believe in love,” she said and smiled brightly and nodded her head at the words coming from her own lips. “I always wondered why on Earth you two broke up.” 

“you really think so ads?” malina asked, coming back into the room and walking over to sit on the bed beside her younger sister. “well, i got a really good offer for a job here and i wasn’t going to ask dylan to leave what he was doing. we tried long distance but.. i don’t know, we both needed that assurance of the other psychically being there rather then in another place.”

The two of them waked next to each other, hand in hand, while walking through the park with Rory leading the way. Hey, he turned his head and looked at the redhead as she had squeezed his hand. what are you doing this weekend? “Doing this weekend? Um, nothing special, I think. Why do you ask?” Dylan questioned and grinned as he looked at Malina. 

her eyes were focused on his face, a smile already on her lips when he meet her gaze. “we should do something, go somewhere with a zoo or an aquarium or something. somewhere fun.” she suggested.
