' that was . . . insane. ’ ellis spoke about the event, reminiscing as if kostas hadn’t been there with him only a few hours before. ellis, usually so focused on career, had made good use of the open bar at the vmas after his interaction with his ex. maybe he needed this, he though, just to let himself go every now and then. not excessively, nothing to cause a scandal, but just some good times with friends. he wrapped his arm around kostas, looking to him for direction. ‘ do we have a plan for the rest of the night ? ’

“you’re next to me. on the left.” cloud slurred with a roll of her eyes, not bothering to look over at ellis. she knew his voice well enough. when she’d seen the chart, she couldn’t help but curse the entire event. she probably wasn’t going to win and she’d be stuck for the rest of the night watching others collect their awards while multiple exes hovered nearby.

even after their interaction the other night, ellis wasn’t completely sure where he stood with the bright haired girl. it was difficult, the way even after they parted, their lives wouldn’t. they would go to the same events, she would collaborate with one of his close friends, the venue would sit him next to her without giving it a second thought. their names would appear next to each other on at least three different lists tonight. ‘ sounds good, ’ he replies evenly, unsure what else to do.

a year of this ( just a year or a whole year ? ) and ellis still hadn’t gotten the hang of navigating these large events. the dark haired singer hovers over the table with the seating chart, looking desperately for his name. ‘ it seems like there should be an easier way to do this ... ’ he mutters with a frown, his hand tracing the long list.

collaborators and close friends, ellis multari and freya moore are both nominated for their song ooh, appearing on multari’s debut album is this the american? and decided to walk the carpet together. in the past, the pair have made it clear that there’s no romantic connection between them, but that doesn’t stop others from speculating. either way, the pair made a handsome couple on their way to the awards ceremony.
