yeah I was going to work on some gyutaro wip today but honestly this whole situation has completely killed my motivation.

i’ve already been through a period where I stopped tagging my fics altogether because of the rude comments I used to see on twitter (i've always written for very unpopular side characters so the criticism was pretty much always aimed directly at my work and maybe the work of two or three other writers) and I really don’t want to fall back into that again but I hate how much this is getting to me.

it's one thing to complain about fanfics when it’s a massively popular character with endless content being made for them, it's another to direct that frustration toward a very small group of writers who are quite literally keeping the character's tag alive

i just saw someone on tiktok complaining about gyutaro writers only writing modern au and how she wants to see more canon au. i agreed with her until she called these fics “SHIT.”

guys, please…writers such as myself put a lot of effort into these stories, even if they’re only short chapters and modern au. honestly, if you want to see something so badly then just make it yourself. no need to put others down !!

we really need to start shaming non-writers who always feel so comfortable policing what writers do. you don't like something? pick up a pen and get to work.

"but i can't write!!" idgaf. neither can I. I don't consider myself a good writer, i don't even enjoy writing that much half of the time, but I picked up that pen for the first time many years ago because I loved a fandom enough to want to contribute something to it.

honestly most of y’all can’t even be bothered to engage and leave feedback on the fics you do enjoy, yet you have the audacity to put down people's work and demand more content because you don't like what's already being given to you for free.

it get so much more frustrating when you know there's BARELY any gyutaro writers already so this type of criticism is very obviously targeted to the same 2-3 people who still write for him.

do better idk. if you don't like what you're reading, join us and write ur own shit

i can't write to save my life rn but i CANNOT stop thinking about a gyutaro x reader arranged marriage au that’s basically esme and john shelby coded,,, okay hear me out.

their wedding is organized behind their back and taking place before either of them even know what the other look like. they meet for the first time at the altar expecting either absolutely nothing or a lifetime of misery, and then boom. they look up during the vows, reader lifts up her veil, and it's love at first sight.

after that they become completely obsessed with each other, constantly fucking like rabbits AND getting caught literally anywhere. everyone's traumatized by how often they walk in on them at this point, and no, they don't even bother stopping when that happens. they’ll just glance over for half a second before going right back to what they were doing

you literally CANNOT show up at their house unannounced or take these two anywhere because the second they're left alone for five minutes, they will end up fucking on the nearest piece of furniture.

oh and there's another baby in the family every.single.year bc they dgaf about protection 🙂‍↕️
