The confused way that he’s greeted lets Hades know that Jimin can’t see his face any more than Hades can see Jimin’s. There is a brief moment where the deity is disappointed that Jimin doesn’t recognize him by his arms or something, but he brushes it off and shuffles his weight, attempting to keep from dropping the items while making his face visible. It’s only mildly effective. “Jimin. It’s me.”

Hades wants to see the face of the man he loves, and so he steps inside quickly, just as the top present begins to topple. Hopefully Jimin will catch it or it’ll crash to the floor, because the deity certainly is in no position to do something about it. Item levitation has never been his thing.

“Dammit!” He whispers with urgency. “Get it before the drops! It might be fragile!” He doesn’t know for sure, he can’t see which one went toppling like a lemming over the edge of a cliff.

《❤》 It was the moment he heard the other’s voice that Jimin’s entire face changed, his expression turning into pure joy, his eyes shining with joy. “Hades.” He spoke to the male, now finally realising who was standing before him. He was about to throw himself at the other, ignoring the construction but Hades chose to move, entering his apartment. Of course this resulted in one of the items to fall and with his natural dancing reflexes the young man caught it instantly.

“F-fragile?” Immediately, Jimin’s grip on the box turned gentler and he looked down with reverence at the item. “Hades... what’s all this? Are you here from work?” He asked still slightly bewildered while at the same time he started taking the things the god was holding, one by one putting them on a little shelf he had in his minuscule hall.

Slowly, almost every item found its way to the shelf expect fro the bouquet of roses. They were beautiful and immediate Jimin wondered who bought them for Hades. If he were to be honest a pinch of jealousy was felt in his chest. Who was it that was trying so hard to get on his handsome lover’s good side? He couldn’t ask though. He didn’t want to seem too clingy. Still, the words that escaped his mouth were nothing if not proof that he was already very attached to the other. “I missed you.”

Being away for Jimin’s birthday is something that made Hades feel extremely bad. Even though he knows that for most immortals birthdays stop being important, Jimin’s birthday is important to the deity. Especially since it was the first one since they’d become lovers.

And he’d forgotten it. Well, not exactly forgotten. More like gotten so busy with all of his duties (especially with winter coming up) that it’d slipped his mind. Once the little nugget of knowledge trickled back into his brain, Hades had begun to feel very shitty about it.

So here he is, knocking gently upon Jimin’s door instead of slipping in through the shadows as usual. He’s carrying a plethora of gifts in his arms–a dozen roses, a small box, a huge fluffy teddy bear, and a larger box. It’s hard to juggle it, so he hopes Jimin answers soon.

《❤》 Times were busy and both Jimin and Hades got caught up in what they had to do. Jimin had both earthly duties and he was still learning about his abilities. It took a lot of his time and Hades... well Hades was a god, it was obvious that sometimes he would be a little more distant. Jimin didn’t really worry much, believing that their bond was far stronger than distance.

And so days passed without them seeing each other, both too busy. Same went for Jimin’s birthday. Frankly he even forgot that it was his birthday and had it not been for a few kids at his classes bringing him flowers he would’ve spent the day completely unaware. Later in the evening he thought a little bit about Hades, found himself missing the god but the memories were enough to make him fall asleep and dream of the other’s warm embrace.

It was evening when he heard the knocking on his door. He walked to the door rather surprised, he barely had any guests nowadays after all. Without even checking who it was, the link-haired male opened the door only to be face with... a bundle of things with legs sticking out from the bottom. “C-come in?” He said to the living construction, still rather bewildered as to what or who it was.

He could feel the way that Jimin tensed up after he spoke, and for a terrible moment Hades wonders if he said the wrong thing. Did he speak of such emotions too early? Does Jimin not return the feelings of love in the way that Hades does? The deity would do just about anything for Jimin and to keep him safe. He would slay whoever he needed to, deceive anyone, cut down the fiercest beasts in order to keep Jimin out of harm’s way. However, when he feels those soft lips pressing against his own, Hades feels himself become able to breathe again. Grip on the smaller waist tightens but doesn’t cause pain, holding the moon guardian so close that perhaps they could melt together. “I will do anything for you. When I met you, I never thought you’d be the one to grasp onto my heart in this way. I haven’t felt this way about anyone in a very long time. You will never be lonely, you will never want for anything. I promise this to you, Jimin. My word is my bond, my sweet little moon guardian.” Fingers brush along the soft, pale skin of Jimin’s jaw line, a relieved expression worn across Hades’ features.

Ahh, the tight embrace of the deity got him blushing. It felt so nice to feel Hades hugging him even tighter. It wasn’t much but it made Jimin feel as if he was a treasure. Heat was radiating from the god and Jimin felt as if he was Icarus approaching the sun. Only unlike Icarus, his wings wouldn’t melt because the sun itself was holding him up. And then the sun began to sing as Jimin listened to Hades’ words. His eyes watered a little, adding a glimmer to them that was not there before. He wasn’t crying, no, but he nearly felt like it. “I know there’s not much I can do for you - you’re so powerful. But if you want me as you said, I will never leave your side. I will be there for you when you need me and when you don’t. If you send me away I will be waiting for your call and I will drop whatever I have to run to you. I don’t need anything if I’m with you.” Those words sounded almost too bold for him to say. But they also felt natural. His head automatically turned to expose more of his jaw for the other to caress, as Jimin found the feeling more than pleasant. “I have a confession to make... I... have loved your touch for the longest of times... I just wasn’t brave enough to tell you.”

When Jimin reassures him that he will not be leaving again, Hades believes him. He has never known Jimin to be a liar. The moon guardian has always been honest with him and as a result, he has earned the trust of the king of the underworld. Fingers have found their way into Jimin’s hair as he awaits an answer, brushing through locks continuously in slow, comforting motions. “Yes, you were.” He murmurs as Jimin’s question. Hades has been incredibly patient, though if he needs to be, he will be patient even longer. For as long as it takes. He’s got an eternity, after all. Jimin means too much to him to let go just because he can’t handle a bit of waiting. However, when he sees that affectionate look in the eyes of his younger companion, Hades knows that the wait is over before Jimin even responds. A bright smile that doesn’t normally show up on the face of the god but now it’s out in full force, taking over his features as he looks upon his beautiful little prince. “I do want you, and I won’t take it back. I love you, Jimin.”

To see Hades smiling so bright was a first for Jimin and he immediately felt himself immersed in that beautiful sight. He would happily spend the rest of eternity looking at the other, smiling and just wrapped in those wonderful and strong arms that made him feel safe. Hearing Hades speak however made him freeze, his muscles visibly tensing up. He was overwhelmed. He looked up into the god’s eyes, his own face serious and his eyes full of question. Slowly, he let the white pearls of his teeth dig into the full flesh of his lower lip absentmindedly. He was completely flabbergasted. To the point he didn’t believe in the happiness that struck him. He was searching for any signs of a joke, of a provocation from Hades. But the other male’s face was completely serene and even with that wide smile, Jimin could tell Hades was being serious. Finally, a decision inside the guardian was made. He stood on his toes, looking affectionately and without even a hint of a warning he let his lips meet with Hades in a sweet and (nearly) chaste kiss. When he pulled back, he was smiling innocently. “I think I love you too.”

Who’s more dominant:Well, no matter how we look at it, it’s always going to be Hades. He’s the one that takes care of the other, he’s the strong one and he’s a g o d, so, it goes without saying.Who’s the cuddler:Jimin. The boy loves to be close and feel the warmth of the other so at any given chance he WILL cuddle up to the tall dark and handsome deity.Who’s the big spoon/little spoon:Hades - big spoon, Jimin - little spoon. Based on the built alone it’s not difficult to guess, but it also has to do with Jimin’s love for being enveloped in Hades’ long, muscly and safe arms. What’s their favorite non-sexual activity:I somehow feel it’d just be Hades taking care of business with Jimin sprawled over his lap pretty much like a cat, half-dozing off, half curiously looking what Hades is doing. 100% of the time one of Hades’ ands would be occupied with Jimin’s hair and neck – petting is a must!Who uses all the hot water:Such things do not happen with a god around. And anyways by habit Jimin isn’t a fan of long baths unless Hades wants to bathe him.Most trivial thing they fight over: Jimin’s low self-esteem. That’s the thing that’ll sometimes show up and what Hades REALLY wants to root out.Who does most of the cleaning:Honestly it’s difficult to say. Out of the two it’s Jimin who is more likely to be doing such things but at the same time I have a hard time imagining Hades letting Jimin do the cleaning. There’s staff for that. No need for the Little Prince to do it.Who leaves their stuff around:Jimin, unfortunately. He’s not a slob but he can be forgetful and sometimes stuff (especially his clothes) might be found in various places all around.Who remembers to buy the milk: Neither is used to to things like that (even though Jimin should be since he did live alone for a long time and yet… he never learned) but I think it would be Hades. He takes care of Jimin and never forgets about his needs. He’s the perfect man.Who remembers anniversaries: Both. Jimin doesn’t really have much to give to Hades but he tries anyways. It’s very difficult to give anything to the god of riches so he tries the little things to be not so much rich in material value but more like – beautiful memories, things that would last. Worst case scenario when he didn’t manage to prepare anyting – he would give himself wrapped in a little purple bow. Hades would find another beautiful accessory/part of clothing that would accentuate Jimin’s lovely features. Preferably in purple. And with gems. But also something Jimin would like.Who cooks normally: Jimin. He loves cooking so he would insist on cooking for Hades even though the other doesn’t really want Jimin to strain himself, He wants to spoil Jimin, but the pink-haired brat would easily convince him that letting him spoil Hades is in fact spoiling him.How often do they fight:If ever it’s only when Jimin starts believing he doesn’t deserve Hades. That’s the only time. So not often, really.What do they do when they’re away from each other: They go about their business. Bot of them have their duties to attend to. But I feel that from time to time Jimin would find some time to snap a provocative photo and send it to Hades just because he can and he finds it funny to rile Hades up a bit.Nicknames for each other: Hades doesn’t have any nicknames from Jimin tbh. The reason for that is simple, his name itself sounds so soft to Jimin that the right to just call it out is enough for the guardian. He feels it’s a nickname already. For Hades – whatever he wishes, though mostly it’s just Little Prince.Who is more likely to pay for dinner: H A D E S. No questions asked. This is not up for discussion. As log as Jimin is with Hades, he does NOT pay. End of story.Who steals the covers at night: Neither, I feel. Jimin is cooler than a normal human so he clings to warmth – Hades. Therefore, no cover stealing is possible.Who kissed who first:Okay, this might be the one and only time when it’s Jimin who does something first. But not necessarily. Still, Jimin is quite emotional and impulsive so he might forget his good manners and find himself locking lips with Hades.Who made the first move:Hades. With most things it’s always going to be Hades, because Jimin already feels happy with whatever he gets from the god. He loves him dearly and wants his happiness but he will not force himself on the deity. Ever.Who remembers things: Well, both. Their time together is very important to them so they try to remember as many details about it as possible. Especially Jimin who finds this whole thing a damn miracle.Who started the relationship:Hades. It was all pretty and official, with a formal request to be his partner. As it should be with everyone.Who cusses more: Neither. At least not in front of the other. There are other ways to express yourself than cussing.What would they do if the other one was hurt:Jimin would not leave Hades’ side for one second, making sure to take care of him until he felt better. Same goes for Hades but then, when Jimin got better, he would find the culprit and a n n i h i l a t e him.Who is the dirty talker:What do you mean dirty talker? If praising is considered dirty talk then – both. If not – then neither.A head canon:Their relationship is based around trust and patience. It’s soft and gentle, they tend to always think about the other when proposing something and planning something out. While they don’t lack spontaneity, they still make sure for the time to be right in everything they do. Especially their first night together, though after that one time, they would probably become much more open and perhaps a little selfish with their needs, each one provoking the other until he gets what he wants.

"Please, talk to me." - Jimin to Hades

DON’T LET ME GO / LET ME GO STARTERS.

Silence stretches between the two them like thousands of miles on a highway. It’s difficult to find the words to say when the only words that need to be said are ones that will cause pain or panic. Those are the very last things he ever wants to inflict upon Jimin. The deity only wants to see his Little Prince smile and laugh, but now, Hades has to tell him. And he has to say it because it’s important–Jimin’s life could possibly be at stake, all because of that jealous bitch who suddenly decided that she cares about what Hades does with his life.

Even when he hears those pleading words slip from the moon guardian’s lips, all the god of the underworld can do is shake his head. Reaching for his love, fingers curl gently about Jimin’s wrist in order to draw him closure. Hades needs to drink in his warmth, feel his heart beating against his chest in order to remind himself that some people are worth fighting for until the very end. His face buries into the soft bubblegum pink hair and Hades inhales slowly before he finally allows the words to slip from his lips.

“Persephone found out about you.”

There are so many questions that rush through his mind–where have you been, why did you leave me? But right now is not the time to ask them. Right now, Hades is more concerned with finally feeling the warmth of the smaller male’s body pressing against his. He’s more concerned with the gentle sound that is Jimin’s voice. “Shh, don’t apologize. I forgive you.” No matter what the reason may be, Hades forgives him. “Just as long as you don’t leave me again. I can handle anything in this world and the next.. except being without you.” After a few moments he pulls back just enough to tilt Jimin’s chin upward with his index finger, looking down into the eyes of the moon guardian. “Promise you’ll stay and be my underworld prince.”

He smiled the moment he heard the other’s soothing words. He buried his head deeper in the wide chest as if he was trying to hide from the world. His grasp on the taller man tightened as he nodded. “I won’t. This time I’m here to stay. I’m... happy to see you.” He was. Truthfully, he was overwhelmed with happiness, unable to process how it was possible that he got so lucky. Not only did he seem to have won the affection of none other than Hades, but it looked like the deity, who could have practically anyone and who had no reason to wait for him actually... actually did. To be that important to someone, especially someone you love -- that’s a ridiculous amount of luck, let’s be honest. Jimin finally raised his head and faced the god, the answer he was giving -- well, it deserved to be said while keeping eye contact. “I... was going to answer this before I left, wasn’t I? I...” He took a deep breath and his lips widened in an innocent and affectionate smile. “If you really want me, then yes, I promise. But remember -- no taking back what you said!” Lightly, he chuckled at the god and let one of his hands move from Hades’ torso up to gently trace the jawline.

How long has it been since Hades has laid eyes upon the beautiful visage of the man he loves? It feels like an eternity–a lot longer than it has actually been. So when Hades comes within arms reach of the moon guardian, he is carefully pulling him against his broad chest as if the boy were the most dear, fragile being in the universe. Leaning down, Hades presses his face into soft pink locks, inhaling Jimin’s special scent carefully. “I have missed you more than you could ever know, Little Prince.”

It’d been so long. So long since he left. Every second dragged out, felt like it’s own little eternity. But it had to be done, the guardian knew, he knew very well. Still, the pain of separation hit him hard. He would’ve never guessed this kind of pain existed. It seemed like something that usually happened in stupid fairy-tales. But no -- it was his reality. So the first moment he was free, the first moment he could decide where to go, he immediately raced to the face he pained for. To the warmth and the softness he could still remember. To Hades. He was scared of the reception he would get but at the same time he needed to see him. Even if only to get rejected. When the deity just enclosed him safely in an embrace and whispered sweet words -- words that he felt he didn’t even deserve, he buried his face in the broad chest and let the strong scent carry through his body. “I-- I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to-- I... I missed you too. So very much.”
