Yes, because breaking your friend and forcing them to cope with your death even thouhgh you know differently effectively taking away their choice and in a way brainwashing them is treating them as people.

Yeah, with only one difference. Rin and Riki are still people. Madoka is a lifeless doll after that.

They matured, she got brainwashed. All the same, really.

Kyousuke wanted Rin and Riki to cope with everyone's deaths.

What did they do? They saved everyone out of free will. Even at the risk of their own lives, totally the result of Kyousuke's brainwashing.

Yes, please, take everything a character says after 5 mins seriously. Please assume Homura is just evil because she says it, it’s not like there haven’t been other characters who have had to make themselves be a villain for a better overall purpose…

I’m not saying Homura is doing just this, but she wasn’t around long enough to prove anything.

I'm evaluating her since the beginning of the series, actually. She never said "Madoka is going to be safe", she always said "I, and I alone, will make sure Madoka is safe, because I can only trust myself."

Kyousuke said "Riki can make it alone because we're going to make him resistant enough to overcome our deaths."

Homura KNOWS she did wrong, she even admits it as both Homulilly AND Homucifer, and I’m sure she does feel bad about it, but she feels and thinks this is the only option she has.

So this is Homura feeling bad.

And this is Kyousuke feeling bad. As in the worst mental condition possible.

Guilt doesn’t excuse actions anyway, even if it was to save a life, he MENTALLY BROKE a person, and you’re EXCUSING that because he cries over it and she doesn’t?!

Kyousuke is feeling guilty because he has to break some of his friends mentally. Hell, even his sister went through that 100x more intensely. But in the end, everyone was saved. Even if Riki can't forgive him, it's alright with him.

Homura got scolded by Sayaka, and what did she say? "Just deal with it."

Well, if we’re gonna argue this though, two things:

Homura saved all the magical girls across ALL of time in her timeline. that’s a lot more lives than just a class. Both past and future.

And two, Fate doesn’t REALLY exist if you have absolute power to change or fight it, like Homura. You don’t have to understand the rules if you’re the one with the power to make them.

I’d also argue that Kyousuke is probably older, and the circumstances were different. He might have handled it better because he was allowed to, whereas Homura had a lot less time, a lot steeper of a learning curve, and even though she could make mistakes, each one had a huge cost, and a lot of pressure was put on her.

Might fate not exist, she’d successfully prevent Madoka from contracting without ascension and everything that followed. Also, if that amount of repeated timelines is not enough to get a grasp on time traveling, there’s only one conclusion.

Kyousuke accepted the role with a full intent to fulfill it and did everything to do so, including understanding how it works. Homura accepted the role with a full intent to fulfill it, yet without any desire to understand the system, and got a symmetrical rebuttal.

In the end, Kyousuke faced the reality by closing the imaginary world. Homura, contrary to that, built her own peaceful pocket universe, not only trapping people within, but also running away from what she had to face. Exactly what Kyousuke taught Riki not to do.

I'll add that Kyousuke to dirty his hands, and he felt ultimately bad, because he knows he's an asshole. He broke Kengo mentally to make sure he wouldn't interfere with his plan.

That's not how Homura thinks.

Except:

Homura promised Madoka she would save her, and Madoka is the one who asked her to make that promise.

Madoka saved her life, twice, once with Mami from the witch, and the other time from Walpurgis Night. This is on top of any other times that happened from the 1st timeline onward.

Technically, Madoka contracting isn’t EXACTLY fate, only because she doesn’t know the truth the first times and the last because she knows how to do it RIGHT.

On top of that, Homura doesn’t have a choice, it’s implied if she doesn’t save Madoka, her shield activates automatically if she doesn’t do it first. She is literally bound to repeat her wish against her will, so it isn’t entirely her fault.

And, given the above, most would probably do the same thing she would, since Madoka was her first friend, and one of the ones that values her when Homura doesn’t even value herself.

I’ll say this once again, I don’t like Homura for what she’s done, but given the same situation, circumstance,and conditions I’d be roughly the same as her barring the Homucifer incident.

So would most anyone really.

Kyousuke knew he was going to die. So what did he do? He used his power to close Rin and Riki into an alternate reality where they would learn to move on after their friends' death.

Kyousuke and the original Little Busters saved Riki from loneliness after he lost his parents and gained narcolepsy.

If Rin and Riki wouldn't learn how to move on, one of them would probably have committed suicide.

We have Homura who doesn't get that Madoka's fate is to die, and trapped herself in a labyrinth where free will disappeared. And then there's Kyousuke, who knows his life, and the Little Busters' as well, has come to an end, and he wants his sister and his friend to move on, so they can't end up buried in infinite sadness.

Kyousuke knows there's no happy end in his story. Hell, he even sacrificed himself so that the bus everyone was trapped in wouldn't blow up due to leaking gas.

None of rebellion would have happened if Homura had kept her mouth shut and not told Kyubey about the witch system.

I agree with that, but Homura wasn't going to let Kyuubey get what he wanted. Homura's a war prisoner that wouldn't have talked at all.

But nobody asked Homura if she wanted to be freed. To me it sounded like she wanted to atone for that sin, but nobody would let her. That's Madoka's main mistake here.

Homura wanted to die! She wanted to stay in her barrier if that meant not seeing Madoka at all again, because she wanted to protect her!

You know what has been forced?

Homura's rescue. Nobody asked Homura if she actually wanted to be saved, because no, she didn't want to.

So okay, Homura kept Madoka's divine powers to herself. But that's mainly because of Madoka's belief in the "power of friendship" (did you forget that this doesn't work?)

Madoka isn't a saint. She's a god, yes, but she's only fourteen. Just because someone is a god doesn't mean they're perfect. Besides she's human in the first place.

Senritsu may not have a way to heal her sore throat and muscles, but what she could do at the very least was try to cheer up the crying girl. If anything, the Magi reminded her not only of herself— being stripped away of hope, and to feel absolutely worthless, with nothing to fuel her will to live— but her own son, whose second chance was temporarily traded for a chance to let her mother live once more.

How she locked eyes with the time-manipulating Magi was akin to the way she does the same way a mother would to her son or daughter— full of love, compassion and care.
