RELEASE: The Scent of Suspicion v1.5
The Scent of Suspicion is a small quest mod set in Suran, centered around a stolen creation: the Essence of Suran, a unique perfume developed by the alchemist Ibarnadad. The quest focuses on investigation and player choice, with outcomes shaped by whether you pursue justice or profit.
The story also connects Suran to Balmora, where Nalcarya of White Haven, the well-known upper-class alchemist in High Town, plays a supporting role. She assisted Ibarnadad during the development of the perfume, and players who take the time to visit her can uncover additional dialogue and an alternate way of approaching the quest, which I don’t want to spoil too much.
With the release of version 1.5, the mod adds support for a unique perfume spray sound, now available for both MWSE and OpenMW Lua. OpenMW support was made possible thanks to sjek, while MWSE support was previously added by Greatness7. OpenMW will still play the default inventory sound, but an optional download enables the custom spray effect.
The mod includes:
A questline with multiple paths and endings
Unique dialogue, mostly tied to established Morrowind characters
The Essence of Suran, a custom potion that boosts charisma and persuasion
Broad compatibility with Suran overhauls and common mod setups
If you enjoyed the quest, the connections to existing characters, or the attention to small details in updates like this one, and you’d like to support my work, a coffee is always appreciated.
Thanks to everyone who has played, tested, endorsed, or shared feedback. It genuinely helps and keeps me motivated to keep modding Morrowind.
The Ebonheart Lighthouse
A few days ago I released my latest mod, the Ebonheart Lighthouse. This mod adds a unique lighthouse towering above the harbor of Ebonheart.
This is a mod for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It is the latest in my collection of lighthouses for Vvardenfell. Check "The Ebonheart Lighthouse" morrowind nexus.
Building Tileset - Necrom, Morrowind
The Holy City of the Dunmer. The white wonder in the east. The location is said to be the final destination of Saint Veloth, the pilgrim. Here the Chimer could openly worship the Anticipations.
These housing models offer pilgrims a place to rest and Temple officials their offices. Also smaller buildings for the commoners, that work in city, to live in.
The houses follow an organic shape and this makes them distinctly different from the houses in the Velothi style.
Models are made for the Tamriel Rebuilt project. The aim of this mod is to create the mainland of Morrowind in the spirit of the original game on Vvardenfell. More info on this mod project for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind can be found on the website.
Guar Leather Overhangs - Arvud (Morrowind)
The town of Arvud (Ald Erfoud) lies in the middle of the barren Armun Ashlands, a dusty ashbowl on the mainland of Morrowind. It is the main stopover point for trader caravans traversing these badlands.
To shelter from the elements the alleys and entrance of Arvud are covered with Guar Leather overhangs. During an ashstorm they keep most of the ash out of the streets.
Some in-game screenshots of the overhangs and the town. Worldbuilding on Arvud and the ashlands surrounding the town ia done by multiple members of the Tamriel Rebuilt team.

Gatehouse - Necrom, Morrowind
Necrom, the city above, is the holy city of the Dunmer. The city marks the spot where Saint Veloth led the Dunmer people from west to the new lands in the east. Every family bring the remains of recently deceased familymembers to the city to be prepared for burial in the crypts.
A render in 3dsmax showing the single story gatehouse into Necrom.
An in-game screenshot showing the arched walkway under the gatehouse. Pelgrims will be happy to walk here knowing the pilgrimage on Veloth's Path was succesful.
In the alcove on the left a shrine to Saint Veloth is placed to mark the end of his journey from the west to the new home of the Dunmer in the east. Pilgrims leave offerings at this shrine.

Blisterspore - Othreleth Woods, Morrowind
The Blisterspore fungi are found in the Othreleth Woods region. Located in the southwest corner of the morrowind mainland near the Hlaalu city of Kragen Mar.
These small and vividly red mushrooms grow in tight clusters. They multiply on rotting logs and branches under the the dense canopy of the woods.
The local Dunmer harvest it for the magical properties it has and uses its round cap in a variety of alchemical processes. As the name already indicates picking them without the proper precautions will cause severe blisters on the the exposed skin.

Tanna - Shipal-Shin, Morrowind
Tanna is mainly grown as a crop in the area around Narsis. It also grows solitary in the Thirr Valley and Shipal Shin.
The bright green leaves are cut and left to dry. After a few days the cutting process starts. This will result in some form of tabacco that is smoked by the native Dunmer of Morrowind.

Modular Waterfront - Narsis, Morrowind
Unique set of modular waterfront meshes that are going to be placed in Narsis.
The waterfront in the Hlaalu capital of Narsis is a busy place. Cargoships that sailed down the Thirr, past Almas Thirr, are unloaded here. The cargo is moved to storage rooms on the lower level or hauled up by cranes.
Commoners, (wealthy) merchants and nobles do their business at promenade on street-level. There are plenty of shops to browse and taverns to visit here. The lower level is home to some of the more shady characters. Be sure to watch your pockets while your adventures take you there.

Mushroom Trees - Shipal-Shin, Morrowind
The main tree of the Shipal-Shin canyon region near Narsis, southern Morrowind.
The area where these trees grow is arid and dusty. The water from the little rainfall and early morning dew is stored in the mushroom petals. This way they can survive a period of extreme drought.
