“You are a part of something you cannot even begin to comprehend, and instead of taking that opportunity and living up to the responsibilities you shouldered—”
“I shouldered nothing. I was a kid, a stupid kid who didn't know any better—”
“And remarkably enough, nothing has changed.”
One day Brick will replay this conversation when he’s older and realise nothing did change. JS was no different to Him and Mojo Jojo. They both took advantage of a kid, conditioning him to believe he had a responsibility to be something great because he came out of a toilet, JS was just better at convincing him he was useful because the wound of not being was still fresh
Looking over this post and mojo jojo and him is MUCH more different than JS, especially since we’re leading up to an eventual betrayal me thinks from JS that wouldn’t be able to exist if JS operated the same way as the boys two gay dads
I do still think it’s a really interesting way of showing different forms of childhood neglect and abuse
