“He’s a damn poser.” Marls rolled her eyes turning to the boy and lunging at him. “She’s mine, back off,” she growled laughing when he walked away defeated. “My night is straight bitchin’. Hopefully yours will be too.”

“I knew you were my favorite for a reason.” Marlene smiled coming over to give him a hug. “I figured eventually I’m going to have to pay you back for letting me get away with stuff.”

“No one could stop loving you,” she reassured him nudging the cat back towards her owner. “Just keep track of the sweet thing.” Marls beamed glad to cover up her tracks.

Vale watched her intently, an image of him pushing her off the astronomy tower crossing his mind as she spoke. Quickly a smile took over his features and he shrugged. “I know you would.” 

It wasn’t that she had a death wish as much as she enjoyed trying to push people to their breaking point. That was what she intended to do. “I’d say just do it already but we both know you don’t have the balls to kill me.”
