The support tickets were down for awhile, but as many of you have realized, they are back up again. Sorry for not announcing this earlier. I’m kind of spacy.
Support tickets may go down from time to time, but we’re working on some site fixes so that the tickets won’t be as necessary. (Like a password reset button, for instance.) The BBCode Guide and User Guide have been rewritten at the former site manager’s request, but I still need to htmlify the User Guide. I might go through it again and try to make it a bit easier to navigate first, though.
Some of the devs are back too and I’ve been trying to learn Python so I can try and help them out a bit. The lead programmer is still on suffering-from-burnout vacation so there won’t be anything major done to the site for awhile, but we should start seeing a few fixes here and there.
Also, guys, I really don’t want to get involved in this drama, but so many people are bandying about lies that it’s really hard not to say something. I really really really do not want to say negative things about the former mods and site manager because I am worried people will go after them if I do (please leave them alone, they are troubled kids who have had a lot of shit to deal with in their lives), but they do not know what is going on with the website, they do not have access to any information about it, and they are trying to spread fear because they want to prove that the website cannot continue to exist without the former site manager. But to be perfectly honest, the site *can* exist without management. It won’t be as great, but it also means that there won’t be people in positions of higher power who can abuse that power. Users have the tools to moderate their own chats and to block people from the character search. If someone you don’t like PMs you, then all you have to do to not see their PMs is unsubscribe from the PM. (You can resubscribe to a PM by entering the username in the URL, though, in case you unsubscribe from one by accident.) When the site was unsupported before, those tools didn’t exist in the same way they do now. The site was less stable then. It needed more attentive moderation.
Most of the stuff that’s been said about me personally have been at best misunderstandings and at worst outright lies. It is very hard to keep quiet when people are saying things that are blatantly untrue about you, but I’m not the one who is really being hurt by all this because I don’t have a social life on MSPARP or on Tumblr. It’s the MSPARP users who are being scared into thinking this site they rely on to talk to their friends is going to go down. If this site goes down, my family saves money and I can focus on less stressful things. Working on this site is not enjoyable, but the amount that people are made happy by it is more than the amount that I’m hurt by it, and if it’s too much stress, I’ll dial it back until I’m better. Same is true for all of the people who work on it. Nothing has changed all that much so just try and have fun and don’t worry too much. The site will continue as it has been for a couple years at least and maybe longer.
