So a funny thing happened this morning....

I was ahead of schedule on my way in to work, so I stopped to get breakfast at a Wawa (a popular chain of large convenience stores/gas stations on the US east coast).

As I was coming out, a small crow wheeled right over my head and perched on the corner of the awning in front of the store. He puffed his feathers and shook out his wings and regarded me with one bright black eye. I know a messenger when I see one, so I minded my manners…and ignored the odd looks from the people around me.

Me: Good morning.

Crow: -polite caw-

Me: -taking a piece of donut from my bag- Would you like some breakfast?

Crow: -tips his head the other way and flaps a few times-

Me: Here you go. -tosses the piece onto the ground just below the awning-

Crow: -hesitates, looking between me and the bit of pastry-

Me: It’s all right, it’s for you. -takes a step back for good measure- Go ahead.

Crow: GRAWK! -glides down from the awning, pecks up the snack, and wheels once over my car before flying off-

Me: Give my regards to your mistress, fella.

Lady in the next parking space: …..What kinda Halloweentown shit was that?

Me: -big smile- Any witch worth their salt knows you should always be polite to crows. -hops into car and goes on to work-

I always say good morning to the crows outside of work. They always answer me back and rarely fly away no matter how closely I have to walk past them. (Usually if they do it’s because someone else who doesn’t greet them is coming up behind me).

Be polite to crows - they remember.

Hey everyone! I have been crazy busy this year and have had no time to keep up to date on this here blog. Between going through pregnancy, marriage hardships, and a job change, I’ve been extremely occupied.

However, I’m going to be trying to check in more often and keep my blog current. I have still been exploring my path, just not as much as I would like. So I’m trying to get back on track with that alongside preparing for birth (10 weeks away!!!)

Another thing, I know I mentioned this a while ago, but I have a few Wicca books I’m looking to get rid of. While I’ve learned a bit from them, it’s not the path for me so I’d like them to go to someone who is more interested. They’re in perfect condition, as I’m a huge book nerd and have to take care of my books :) if you’re interested, shoot me a message!

Self- Care after Cursing

I’m a firm believer that after working with curses or magicks that deal with a lot of negative emotions you should not just cleanse yourself but also make a point to care for yourself. Treat yourself like a small child who has just been through a painful experience, because you have. 

Salt

some honey, raw if you can get it

sage

lavender or lavender oil

Your favorite shower soap, must be liquid

Run a hot shower, let it get it to your favorite temperature. Then take the salt, honey, sage, lavender and whatever else and mix it into your shower soap. Begin to cover yourself with it and scrub. But not too hard - this is about cleansing, yes, but also about self-care. Cleanse yourself thoroughly with the mixture then finish your shower. Relax under the water, feel warm and safe and feel your nerves unwinding. If you want, you can plug the drain and lay under the water and make yourself a bubble bath. Just make sure all the salt and stuff, which has absorbed the negativity,  is down the drain before you plug it.

Do anything you want to feel comfortable, refreshed, calm, and safe.

After you get out, cover yourself with lotion or shea butter, do your hair nice, put on something comfortable.

Make yourself a cup of tea, and go be mundane for a while.
