jumping off of this, my favorite shadamy / sonamy headcanon is that sonic does like to tease shadow abt his obvious crush on Amy, and would probably even like give tips or something as to get her attention or some such but !! secretly he's jealous but hates that he's jealous bc Sonic's thing for Amy is a big conflicted mess for him. He loves Amy, like he loves all his friends, but he doesn't necessarily want to commit/date her because he doesn't want that responsibility that comes with stability like that - he can't give one person his whole attention when he's a hero with a world to save! so he thinks it's funny that Shadow gets bashful and flustered around Amy like he doesn't do for anyone else, but then it's when Amy starts giving attention to Shadow, giving Shadow gifts, standing back with him in events and get togethers, the way she looks at Shadow now being the way she used to look at Sonic, and he aches but he can't let himself really think about it, so he doesn't and keeps acting like it's so great that Amy and Shadow are so close now...
