disabled ppl we need to start lying to nosy people okay? you tell me i'm too young to need a cane and i will tell you point blank that maybe you should tell that to the guy who ran me over. you don't get an explanation of my health issues you get lies and depending on how much of an asshole i want to be that lie will be anything from a humble car crash to a 1 billion lions attack. mind yr business.
"i could never live like that" well maybe you'll have to because this happened overnight. yeah you heard me i was the most able bodied man in the world but then one morning bam i woke up disabled. yeah you could have that too. there's no cure either you'll just wake up one morning and now you have to live like me
"what happened" well have you ever seen looney tunes? yeah an anvil landed on me and squished me flat.
This goes for masking too.
"You know you don't have to wear that."
"My mother is undergoing treatment for stage four cancer, and I refuse to be the one who brings an illness home that kills her."
Make them feel bad. Make them feel like utter shit for thinking their opinions and preferences are worth more than your health. Make them despair.

This is literally the plot of a Garfield comic strip
This satire article resonated with me so much
listening to CDs in the kitchen i always brace myself for the ad between songs but then it just keeps rolling. skipping around how i like without interruption feels heavenly. we're in such a commercial angst prison that books and CDs are luxury now 😭
protect, pass on, thrift, gift, and store physical media, it's worth it
it’s actually wild how terrified of the general public most usamericans are. like you don’t realize it if you’re someone who mostly walks and takes transit and spends a lot of time in populous public spaces but then you talk to one of the thousands of people that seemingly never set foot in any public space besides a parking garage or a starbucks and you suddenly understand why it’s so easy for fascist rhetoric about the dangerous alien to take root. this country’s median voter pretty much never interacts with strangers who aren’t their coworkers or people they met on dating apps
saw a post on instagram that was literally someone citing statistics saying public transit is one of the safest travel options out there and the comments were literally just “ummmmm op this is so ableist and misogynistic of you :) don’t you know the average public transit user is a dangerous violent criminal who wants to set you on fire :)))”
it must be so terrifying and sad to go through life convinced if you set foot outside your car in public or interact with people outside your nuclear family you’ll instantly be raped and robbed by the Evil Poors no wonder so many of these people are reactionary tar pits
important points which I did not address but should be appended ☝️☝️☝️☝️
ITT:
- people giving their life story to explain why they have a special secret valid trauma reason to be a reactionary tar pit
- white true crime women assuming I don’t know what it’s like to fear rape
- fascists calling me a euroslave
- cybersmith, for some reason
- white true crime women
assuming I don’t know what
it’s like to fear rape
Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
Cannot express how disinterested I am in seeing traumatized characters "reconcile" with their canonically shitty parental figures.
I probably don't have to even say this but this has turned out to be the most "omg Blorbo from my shows" post I could have made. I have no idea who tf 90% of the people in the tags are but you're very passionate about them.

Does anyone have the fucking tiktok video of the overly enthusiastic rich bearded guy showing off his new hiking shoes in his Mansion and the Woods, but then another dude duets with it to make it look like he's escaping from being held prisoner please please
edit THANKS @smellslikebot
For those who have missed it, a tourist in Hawaii decided it would be fun to chuck a rock (a BIG rock) at a monk seal. He missed, but he was captured on video, and when told it was illegal to interfere with them, said "I'm rich, I can pay the fine."
Is the best part that he got doxxed? No.
Is the best part that he got tracked down by a local and beaten? No.
Arrested on state at federal charges, looking at up to 5 years and 50K? Nope.
The best part is the local city council's reaction.
And the best part of that is the look on the attorney's face.
The Hunger Games, Actual Teen style!
On the left, 15-year-old Josh Hutcherson.

Think how much creepier it would be to see them killing other kids when they look so squishy-cheeked and little.
i think Dean unconsciously touches his scar like it's a phantom sensation
one of the most frustrating ways i've found you can be misunderstood is when people think you're horny about the things you're just weirdly fascinated by and weirdly fascinated by the things you're horny about
"omg is this like a fetish for you or something 😅🤣" NOT EVERYTHING IS A FETISH!!! "you have such interesting hobbies" no uh . that one is a fetish actually.
Regarding my last post, here were the comments.
Ah yes, an orphan not seeing the man who never reached out to him, never made any effort to build a relationship as a father with him makes him bad.
Poor Remus deadbeat Lupin. Didn’t Harry know it was his job to take care of him/j.
Seriously though I hate the marauders fandom, it should illegal for them to talk on Harry.
You know what would be a big "fuck you" to JKR? (In Canon-rewriting terms, besides boicoting ofc)
Making explicit how similar she is to her villains: The death eaters with their racist views, the Malfoys using money to do shit, the Dursleys hating whatever is different...
But yeah, ofc, turning them into shallow sad beans who are not the ones to blame for their behaviour and taking all the political background out of it, that's revolutionary.
we don't actually need gender markers on our licenses and whatnot. we could just. do away with those entirely. i do not believe this would lead disaster.
Replace it with a more important piece of information that, say, paramedics could use. Like our blood type. Or something else that's useful, idk.
Every time this comes up in conversation, I always point out that the sole reason to have gender markers on an ID is to enable gender discrimination, and people always get really uncomfortable and weird about that.
Nu? It’s so that people can quickly identify what gender you are and treat you differently based on that information, yes?? Is that not the definition of gender discrimination???
Sometimes people try and pull out the whole “what about medical emergencies” thing, and to that, I have three responses:
1. As @masterswordobjection points out above, if we actually care about including medically relevant information, there are very few pieces of life saving information more important than blood type. Our IDs also don’t include allergy information, or the medications we’re currently taking. If you want to stealman this incredibly stupid argument, you’d really better start by clamoring to add those things to IDs. If you’re not actively writing and calling your state reps about the lack of blood types, then I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to doubt your conviction on this point.
2. Racial demographic information can also be relevant for medical treatment. Do you (correctly) recoil at the idea of having IDs stamped “white” and “colored”, even if that information could sometimes be medically relevant? Cool, ok, so we do actually all understand that the risk of schools and jobs and law enforcement discriminating against people due to what is on their IDs is high enough that preventing that is sometime worth the inconvenience caused by those IDs not being drop-in substitutes for simply asking patients for their demographic information. Given that, if you think we still need gender markers on IDs due to potential medical uses, either you must think that gender discrimination just isn’t very serious, or else you must think that M/F is such a uniquely burdensome demographic question that we can’t expect doctors to include it on patient intake forms. Reflect on that for a moment – now that I’ve actually spelled it out, do you really believe either? Really?
3. Finally, guys, I hate to break it to you, but in addition to being used primarily for non-medical gender discrimination, gender markers also enable medical gender discrimination. Ask literally any woman with chronic pain or an invisible disability what having an F on their ID has done for them in a medical context, and you won’t get nice little stories about how it helped their doctors treat their conditions quickly, safely, and efficiently. You’ll get horror stories about how doctors dismissed them as hysterical, used their gender as an excuse to reduce their pain meds, gave them the runaround to instead talk primarily with their partner if that partner had an ID with an M, the list goes on. Treating patients differently based on sex or gender is discrimination, and while yes, there are sometimes scientifically backed medical justifications for limited discrimination in very narrow contexts, we should be extremely skeptical of expanding any of this on the basis of those rare exceptions because, newsflash: most of the time, discriminating between different demographics in a medical context is a very bad thing.
Also, the medical information that people generally associate with gender is not actually associated with gender. Those things generally are: What would a heart attack look like in this person? Which is tied to hormonal status, not gender. Could this person be pregnant? Which is tied to what organs does the person have, not gender. Does this person have a risk for certain cancers? (uterine, prostate, ovarian etc) Which is tied to both the person's organs and their hormones, not their gender. Is this person on contraceptives or rather estrogen or progesterone? Which is simply dependent on what meds the person is taking, not their gender.
In fact there is not a single physical, medical decision that can ever be made on the basis of someone's gender, on account of how your gender is not physical.
Literally the only decisions that are regularly made on this basis are: How serious do I need to take which symptom? How much do I assume the person exagerrated this issues? Can I ignore this symptom all together, because I decide it is psychosomatic? Do I take this patient seriously as a person? And what room do I place this patient in?
