edit: nevermind i have more to say. i think ford was always just.. weird in his own way (in journal 3 he said human blood tastes better and that he's been craving it more than usual.. after being bitten by a fruit bat), and bill doing.. all of that to him made him obviously worse mentally. i can't think of a reason ford would say the thing about blood because i'm pretty sure that was before he was working with bill lmao. silly man. but now i'm wondering if he was joking, talking about his own blood, or talking about someone else's. uh oh

🌙 what are some pet names/nicknames your f/o calls you, if they have any? do you have any for them? if so, what are they?

i'm always so embarrassed to write the pet names out. holy moly. analyst calls medic literally everything that I call him, nothing really changes. medic calls him pet names in german and some are stereotypically sweet, but some are.. a bit odd. probably would call analyst his little lab rat or something along those lines.

funny that u say this because i was doing something where i decide what flowers make me think of the mercs. like a bouquet i'd give them. when i was looking up flowers, i wrote down sunflower, immortelle, foxglove, and narcissus/daffodil for medic :). sunflower is purely because i headcanon that's his favorite flower, and the others are because of their meanings. (immortelle is eternity, immortality, and lasting love. foxglove is healing and harm, beauty and danger. narcissus is egotism, vanity, and unrequited love. makes me think of medic.)

💌 if your f/o wrote you a letter, what would their writing style be like? what is their handwriting like? would they use fancy stationary? maybe normal notebook paper? what about a wax seal? (if your f/o has already written you a letter (or letters!), describe what the letter was like!)

i almost fully believe he's fancy with it. also, in part of the lore him and analyst literally send each other letters because they can't work together (in the events of the comics where medic is working for team classic). anyway i think he writes how he talks, maybe a bit more honest? i'm not the type to send letters so i'm not sure all the phrases, but i imagine these things. thats what it would look like. for a special occasion he might send a weird shaped one. yk what i mean.

also that's just when he sends it to analyst. he's less romantic with other people ofc... wifey. (edit: forgot to say but it would be really funny if he had doctors handwriting. imagine the most romantic thing ever but analyst can't read it at all)

*Cuddling together is a rare treat for the both of you. When you both cuddle, expect the sound of soft humming or a german melody being sung under his breath.

*Medic loves to have you sitting on his lap when you both cuddle. It gives him a chance to wrap his arms around you. In this position, he can rest his chin on the top of your head.

*Sometimes you both sit in silence and enjoy the mundane scenery of the lab or the rec room. Once in a while, you will cuddle in the rec room, but for more private and emotional moments you both will cuddle in the lab.

*No one would dare to make fun of the both of you. They see how much you both mean to each other and understand that these moments are rare and few in between. Once Soldier walked into the rec room where the both of you were cuddling and insisted that he bring he brings his raccoons in for mandatory cuddling sessions.

*Medic loves his cuddle time with you. He enjoys how you feel in his arms. He loves how you feel sitting on his lap, you fit so well curled into his body. You remind him of a weighted blanket. He loves it when you hold his hands during these times. It makes him feel so happy and so loved to spend these precious moments with you.

have idea. gravity falls s/i. his name is yuri and he had some The King In Yellow type shit happen to him to cause him to know every other timeline where bill cipher wins and him and the pines family dies, but he's in the one timeline where they survived. its very strange for him. that happened when he was younger after being exposed to something (haven't thought of what yet. perhaps bill cipher stuff) or whatever and now he's a bit more chill but he still knows what happens in every other universe. and he doesn't know if he'll survive in this one.

How tall the mercs are

This is a long post. I think I figured it out. But obvious disclaimer: I could be wrong.

If you don’t care about how I got the answer, here are the final results:

Engie: 5'7"

Pyro: 5'10"

Scout: 5'11"

Soldier: 6'0"

Spy: 6'1"

Medic: 6'1.5"

Demo: 6'1.5"

Sniper: 6'2.5"

Heavy: 6'5"

If you want to know how I got these measurements:

We see this photo from Ring of Fired: the mug shots of Spy and Scout with the height charts behind them. For this, I noticed that Spy appeared to be standing straight (good posture). Scout is obviously posing, and it looks like he’s leaning backwards, slouching like one would against a wall. So, I used Spy’s apparent height of 6′1″ to compare to the reference chart Valve has of their mercs:

This chart is grainy, but that’s okay; all I needed was a pixel conversion factor. I figured out how tall Spy was in pixels in this image (309 pixels) and divided his height in inches (73 inches) by that number to get the conversion factor: each pixel is about equal to 0.236246 inches. Or, each inch is about equal to 4.232877 pixels.

After that, I measured the heights of all of the mercs in pixels and multiplied by the conversion factor. If I messed up the pixel height, I messed up the final heights, but I think I did a good job. If anyone wants to double-check, go ahead.

The important result was Scout; even though he wasn’t standing up perfectly, if the number isn’t at least close to what the mug shot showed (about 5′10″) then this math isn’t reliable. Scout’s height came up as 5′11″. I think that his slouch and position with the camera is enough to take off about an inch or so in the mug shot.

Overall, here are the results (again):

I’m reblogging because here are some interesting things to note:

The average height of a male American is about 5′10″, so Engie is pretty short.

Medic and Demo “share” a height. Demo is a bit taller than Medic, by one pixel, so technically he is slightly under a quarter of an inch taller than him. Big whoop

Heavy is tall, but he’s not unimaginably tall. I’m not going to bring up the fact that Shaquille O'Neal is 7′1″ oops I just did. Then again, there are only about 28 people in the U.S., give or take, that are Shaq’s height. Using the best statistics I could find, about 2% of Americans are as tall or taller than he is. Considering the average height in Russia is also 5′10″ (Wikipedia), I’ll assume it’s the same for both countries.

Considering that Engie is the only one that is below the average out of nine people, the distribution is skewed considerably towards the taller side.

And finally: if Soldier is six feet, HOW TALL IS ZHANNA?!
