Zero's model uses midlander female as a base. But proportionally, she doesn't really look like one. She has more elegant proportions and broader shoulders relative to her head size. How did they do this?
Rather than doing something that would probably complicate animations, Zero's model has a smaller head, but with her entire height scaled up beyond the usual limits to compensate. This means that, consequentially, some tools do not load Zero's height properly because they do not recognize her height being above the typical maximum.
For specifics, she is 1.04 on height where the maximum would usually be 1.00. This brings her back to the typical maximum height for female midlanders (about 5'7") This is correctly displayed by Anamnesis specifically... but most people are using stuff in dalamud now, yeah? (i start shrivelling up)
Left is the incorrect size when you first load her, and right is correct. Gay ass wol for reference. If you can't see the difference.

It's actually very easy to fix. I thought id have to manually type in stuff somewhere, but brio has a height slider hidden away.

there is a height slider!
The height slider will display a number like 255. Wiggle it down and then back up to the max again. Zero's height will noticably pop up to her correct height and the number will change to 100. If you only use ktisis you will have to do this in brio too... I don't think ktisis has a height slider.
If you want to save an appearance and load that instead of her npc data, it works in brio, but bugged out hilariously for me in ktisis lol. YMMV. There are probably other ways to do this I am not knowledgeable or smart enough to know about.
The game itself does not understand Zero's model either.
There are multiple instances in the game where Zero's model is incorrect. Most notably, her model used in trusts does not have her extra scaling, so she is so smol.
We also have the cursed forbidden imposter Zeros. You can find this as model #3922 Zero. Her height, hair, and skin colours are completely incorrect!! This version of Zero appears when you fight as her during the story, so unless you looked closely, you wouldn't notice.
WHO IS THIS. note the purple-red(?) highlights and default skin tone. I can forgive the height and skin tone because Zero's are weird and she has a normal skin tone in flashbacks, but why the highlights???
This imposter Zero appears AGAIN in all saints wake 2025, the event where you can puppet npcs, only even worse because she uses default female midlander animations rather than male midlander, which is her usual default. (As an aside, since Zero, other npcs have also appeared using cross race/gender animations, and Yoshi-p has even stated they're considering animation customization for wols. I like to think that Zero did this.)
Also less imposter and more of a limitations thing, but I believe Zero's height is also slightly different in the wol handshake cutscene, probably to account for varying wol heights easier, and probably also depends on your wol height/race.

while zero's outfit has been upgraded, her face hasn't. the old textures don't play right with the graphics update and she has weird gray marks on the sides of her face. I have a silly little mod that fixes this here just click the download button. be careful to remove it when the day comes that they do upgrade her face.
