Photoshoot
Theres always things to consider when planning a photoshoot. One thing that I always put into factor is the weather because depending on my theme and if it’s outside, the weather conditions need to match. I don’t always get the two to match but when they do it brings my overall shoot together.
Another thing that is a struggle for me that I’ve found out is that sourcing your own clothes for the shoot is difficult especially if I don’t have the clothes or the prop. One way I’ve learned to manage this is by buying a little when I can, meaning if I see something that I like and it can be used for photoshoots I buy and keep it. Downside I end up with a loth of stuff, upside I could always sell those things later to buy new stuff. Another way that helped me manage is the free chuck out at work. And for shoes, I have models around the same size as me so a lot of the time I don’t have to buy new shoes or clothes.
For makeup looks, I provide some of the makeup and just ask the model to come with just a base and eyebrows done and I build from there.
These are just the little solutions that I’ve found useful to me.
Now when I start scouting different models thats when it will become more tricky, I won’t have everything nor will I be the same size foot as them all. However because I’ve made connections with other stylist and designers, if they need a model, they will be sourcing their own clothes or using their own designed pieces. I would simply have to supply the model. This would then allow me to have more time in managing them and doing photo shoots of my own to promote.
