When first stepping foot into the wild city of Amsterdam I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. Immediately I lost myself in the canals and let the city swallow me whole.

Venturing out on your own and setting aside the obligatory tourist “must see” attractions, you get to really feel the Dutch life for what it is.. simple and happy.

Make sure to stop into “De Pilsner Club” hidden away in the fashion district. Being one of the oldest bars in Amsterdam this place is a must visit. If you look closely you’ll notice there is no bar nor taps..that is because everything gets poured in the back. The interior remains unchanged along with the portraits on the walls. This isn’t a place you’ll find in a travel book which makes it that much more special.

If old school bars aren’t your thing..go to the local shop and rent a bike! Cruise around, eat some cheese, drink some wine and enjoy yourself.
