okay listen. harry hart is trans. i mean, it's right there in his slogan, "manners maketh man". not birth or anything, it's just the way you act and hold yourself that makes you a man. and harry made himself a man long ago, and hasn't looked back since. this is why arthur doesn't really like him - he's too "modern" for the kingsmen, he doesn't seem to uphold their values as much as all those other rich white guys. and that's why he's so ready to prove that no one has to be born into being a kingsman - it's all about what you make out of yourself. this is why he gives eggsy's dad a chance. this is why he gives eggsy a chance.

the thing is?? eggsy unwin is trans as well. harry gave his medal to what he thought was a little girl all those years ago, but then the person who makes the phone call, years later, is definitely a boy - a young man. he kept the nickname, kept the medal, but changed about everything else about himself, as much as he could. he expects harry to be an arse about it, expects some subtle, but shitty remarks, because harry seems exactly like the kind of conservative prick who would find clever ways to undermine and misgender him. but then, he doesn`t?

i can't decide at which point harry opens up about being trans as well. it could be right away, to make eggsy see that he's trustworthy. it could be in the later scene where he explains what truly makes someone a gentleman. it could be right near his end, when he scolds eggsy for throwing away his chance. i like all these options. i like him being stealth for decades, maybe only out to Merlin at this point, but then opening up to Eggsy about it because he needs eggsy to understand where he's coming from.

idk man, trans harry and trans eggsy just hit different. all those mirror scenes. all those discussions about what makes someone a man. charlie's distasteful remark about 'positive discrimination'. questions about fitting in, about 'passing' in this kind of society vs. staying true to yourself. just........ man
