We finished the 2 basement floors, yesterday. The tile is 8x8 hexagons and the grout color hasn't been chosen by the builder, yet. I did get patterns for some of the other wall tile in the house, last night, so will see if I can get a tub surround done, this morning. We managed to get portions of 2 floors installed on Friday, with these 8" hexagons. I want the entryways to look best and cleanest, which is why I do it layout and start installing from there instead of starting from the far side and working toward the doorway...unfortunately, this also means it's nearly impossible to complete these floors in one shot. Yesterday was mostly a delivery day, but we did manage to get one small floor installed. Hexagon tiles are always slow to install and can be a real pain. Personally, I really like the Smart Spacer for doing hexagons and decorative bands...they are 3 different sizes in 1 spacer and they allow tiles to move without popping out or twisting because of the circular design. For some unknown reason, the sills in 2 niches in a new build house have tiles that have spider-web hairline cracks in the manmade/hand-glazed tiles (and not in any other tiles - just the niche sills), so we spent a lot of time VERY delicately demo'ing those niche sills, yesterday, and replacing them with a solid piece of porcelain tile. This is the large (8x5), curbless shower pan that we packed/poured yesterday in a new build house. It is for a wash-off area that will exit to a hot tub on the deck, which is why it has an exterior door on the side...not ideal, obviously, but we made the liner and pan work as well as possible. Finished this project up, yesterday (12x12 ceramic on a diamond pattern on the floor and 6x6 wall tile on a straight lay on the walls, with a 6" glass deco band in the tub and shower, @mapeiusa Ultracolor FA Pale Umber grout and caulk), and on to the next one! We finished the rest of the floor (12x12 ceramic on a diagonal) and also managed to install the master shower, yesterday, (6x6 wall tile, straight set with a 6" offset band of glass rectangle mosaic) so a pretty decent day! Today, we'll be finishing up the install by installing the tub surround and skirt, then planning to grout and finish up on Monday. We started this master bath remodel yesterday. Had to do a little cleanup/prep, then installed underlayment and managed to get a decent amount of the floor installed (12x12 ceramic on a diagonal is slow going in a cut-up room like this one). Another master shower pan poured/packed yesterday. There is another very large, unusual shower pan to do in this same house, but it's a curbless and the drain needs to be lowered in order to get proper drainage before we install that one. The plumber was supposed to come yesterday or today...didn't show yesterday, so we'll see if he does it today. Almost done with this shower - just waiting on the granite curb and sill for the niche, which I'll be picking up this morning. The fabricating of the niche was pretty time-consuming on this one, yesterday...and it didn't help that my saw and all of my water were frozen solid! We're trying to get this new build house wrapped up and tile finally came in. Unfortunately, 2 of the 5 boxes of tile for the kitchen backsplash are the wrong material, so we couldn't get that one completely finished, but were able to set the dog wash and part of the splash. Finished up everything at this house yesterday and cleaned up, packed up, and pulled off. The pictures show the before and after for the three baths that we remodeled during these past 3 weeks. This was part of a pretty large remodel that this couple is doing and very near complete (replacing all tile walls, floors, kitchen cabinets, appliances, trim, railings, etc).
