What's going on here?

There's nothing particularly sexy about these two young guys but for some reason I was fascinated by what might be their back-story. It's 2023 in Egypt and a young man is taking a photo of his friend on a bridge beside the Suez Canal. When they realised I had seen them, they quickly disappeared. Make's you wonder, doesn't it......
