Dig a deep whole. Water in between
and add a first layer of red clay,
found in the street,
that holds the water longer.
Cover with a layer of new fresh soil
and cow compost. Then add white chalk,
which is high in calcium carbonate,
to nurture the sandy ground.
And add more of this between
the last recovered layers of soil.

I helped out with some natural building projects, making stone steps and learnt a lot about bamboo construction, which was very cool to see up close.
My first volunteering spot in South America is in beautiful Rosillas, in the south of Bolivia with a local family.
And this place had it all, great company, great conversations, peaceful nature and lovely animals. I really enjoyed the cooking together, baking bread and lots of cookies!

Organic gardening:
The earth gets boiled for 24h to eliminate the bacteria.
After it gets sifted so all rocks and oneven parts are separated and the clean earth goes into the trays and gets watered before adding the seeds.
The seeds are put in on the surface and slightly covered with clean soil again.
The trays are marked and put in the greenhouse. Watered into the tray, not on top.
