Welcome to my blog for my My Hero Academia Rewrite!
Assume all rewrite related posts (excluding bts posts and non-rewrite related posts) are queued. Queue is set to post 3 times a day.
I will attempt to answer asks in the order I get them
> Howdy o/. Welcome to my blog for my My Hero Academia Rewrite.
> I use it/its & void/voidself pronouns. Aux pronouns are he/him. I am an adult. Ran by @watermelonships (/@twinklingcrow for my mha sideblog). This rewrite was originally on a sideblog, but I decided it would be best to have it be on it's own full blog.
> Format inspired by @/my-rewrite-academia and @/mharewritten.

Zionists/Pro-Isreal people are not welcomed on this blog!

> Any and all unorganized thoughts will go into the MHA Criticizers / Rewrites Community.
> The rewrite is a heavy work in progress. It will be a little bit before I start posting proper story stuff!
> Classism, racism, ableism, Zionism, antisemitism, and other forms of bigotry will not be tolerated. Also doo not come to this blog to be transphobic, homophobic, lesbophobic, acephobic, etc etc.
> Criticism and opinions on my rewrite are welcomed, but don’t push me to add or remove things from my rewrite. Analysis of my rewrite is also extremely welcomed as well!
> I genuinely love My Hero Academia, it holds a special place in my heart. While I am critical of Horikoshi and a lot of the things that happened in canon, I don’t hate the series. I am primarily doing this rewrite for fun. I also don’t claim to be a better writer than Horikoshi
> All asks should be on the topic of my rewrite.
>> While I love reading and hearing about other people’s rewrites. Please don’t send me asks asking for help for your own rewrite on this blog! Please direct those asks to my MHA Sideblog @Twinklingcrow. However, you may send in asks comparing and contrasting your rewrite to my own but only if you do it using a full Venn diagram.
> This rewrite is not shipless! Three of the handful of endgame ships in my rewrite are Izutogachako, Momojiro and Toruyama. The other ships will be hush hush, don't want to give away too many spoilers of course!
> This rewrite have both original characters and original arcs. As well as original or expanded upon backstories for canon characters. If none of these are your cup of tea then I suggest finding a different rewrite to follow. None of the original characters introduced will overshadow Class A though. One original character will be on the same level importance of them, but he won't be introduced until Class A are second years.
> I am not an “anti” of any of the characters even with characters I do not like. But any and all characters are up to be criticized. This rewrite is not for you, if you are someone who cannot handle criticism any of the following characters- Shouta Aizawa, Hitoshi Shinso, Hizashi Yamada, Katsuki Bakugo, Keigo Takami, Minoru Mineta, and Enji Todoroki as well as any of the canonically shown parents. There are other characters that fall into this list, but from what I've seen overall fans of those characters can handle criticism.
>> I am also aiming for a LOV Rehabilitation Ending.
>> Do not mistake my criticism for hatred. I do on some level enjoy the characters I named dropped above (with the exception of Minoru and Enji).
> I am White and don’t live in Japan. If I get anything wrong about Japanese culture, please inform me. I love being educated.
> I will do my best to tag for common triggers and phobia. My primary trigger/content warning tag will be “#// warning here”
>> I will be covering the canonical topics of abuse (including incestuous abuse), quirk discrimination, and human experimentation. I am planning on topics of queerness as well, so expect topics of transphobia, homophobia, and other forms of queerphobia to be covered as well. I will also be covering the topics of misogyny and classism.
>> Be warned that I will be going with the interpretation of the text that both Natsuo and Shoto were conceived at the result of coercion/rape.
>> If you believe I am handling a sensitive topic harmfully and/or worse than Horikoshi, I'm willing to take constructive criticism.
Adding onto my previous ask, is shino's telepathy a one way street like in canon, or is it two way?
Howdy o/
Shino's telepathy goes one way like in canon! As I don't think making it two-way would add anything to my rewrite and I feel like making it as such could potentially take away the stakes and urgency that's felt in the Training Camp Arc (at least my version of it.) ^_^
So what are the wild wild pussycats like in your rewrite?
Howdy o/
Within my rewrite: The Wild Wild Pussycats are Hero team focused on Search & Rescue Work. Though, don't underestimate their combat abilities either, they got a deep understand of their quirks and know how to use it to their advantage after all.
Like the name suggests, this Hero team is cat themed and their members consists of Shino Sosaki (Mandalay), Ryuko Tsuchikawa (Pixie-Bob), Tomoko Shiretoko (Ragdoll), and Yawara Chatora (Tiger).
When they originally formed they were unsure on who should be the leader and left it up in the air, however; overtime Shino had stepped up and taken charge (with the other three allowing her) of the group. So, she was assigned leader of the Wild Wild Pussycats.
They also commonly work with Hero Schools- UA, Shiketsu, Seiai Academy, etc. The Training Camp isn't the first time the Wild Wild Pussycats has done stuff with UA nor will it be the last (in fact readers would have already met Tomoko in one of previous arcs called the Community Service Event Arc).
While they're a group, sometimes they will do Hero work on an solo level. Shino and Tomoko are the members most likely called away for solo tasks due to the usefulness of their quirks.
Thank you for the ask! If there's a specific WWP member you want to know about don't hesitate to send in additional asks :]
Also: Shino, Ryuko, Tomoko, and Yawara are in a polyamorous relationship with one another but they're not out to their fans and to most Heroes. The public just thinks that they're all such good, close friends.
So what's stain like in your rewrite? In what ways does he differ from canon?
Howdy o/
Ah, Chizome "Stain" Akaguro the ex-vigilante serial killer who is obsessed with All Might.
Within my rewrite: Chizome started out as this anti-hero* vigilante known as Stendhal. He was smart, quick on his feet, and, of course, knows knows how to handle the blade. He started out as someone who just wanted to pick up the slack of Heroes and with a noble goal.
However, very quickly his mindset changed and how low he's willing to go went deeper. He soon started killing those he previously just tied up and left for the Heroes and police to deal. He was willing to work with villains such as the likes as Kuin Hachisuka. He began to justify his actions as "Heroic" and denied any & all criticism that went his way.
After his fight with Knuckduster, he shed the Stendhal title and adopted the moniker Hero Killer: Stain. He also cut off his own nose.
And he began comparing all Heroes to All Might. In his mind: if a Hero couldn't live to the heroism of All Might, to his version of All Might, then they're good as dead. So, he started killing Heroes. He killed Heroes who were actually corrupt, those he randomly ran across on the street, and most importantly those who tried to stop him/get in his way.
His criticism of Hero society is grounded in reality but the way he goes about it leaves his message muddied and not as efficient as it could be, and innocent people are often hurt by his actions.
Also, Chizome is one of All For One's targets. Wanted by the Demon Lord for his quirk. (Not that he ever told Tomura Shigaraki this. Though, he did chew her out for letting him slip from her fingers as soon as Chizome's arrest became public). All For One wouldn't go after him himself, instead he would send pawns after Stain. Which the pawns just ended up dead. Also, Chizome became a target after he became Stain.
~
So, my version of Chizome is similar to his canon counterpart, there isn't any major differences other than him being wanted by AFO for a couple of years. But I do hope you liked what I got about my version of rewrite!Chizome Akaguro so far.
Thank you for the ask!
*The character type (doing bad things for good reasons) not anti Hero.
In my rewrite, UA does not escape the Pink Tax. The male uniform is cheaper than the female uniform. She did bite the bullet and bought the female tie though.
While his declined mental state was originally caused by reckless combining a hard drug with Trigger, the cannibalism worsened it by a large margin.
What got Metto caught originally was because he tried to go after and eat the Rabbit Hero: Miruko.
While not officially mentioned in any files, articles or news reports, most of his victims ended up being women and heteromorphs. Which is how he got away with his crimes for a long time.
Grew up in a loving household that sat within the higher middle class.
Constantly encouraged to go into Heroics as a young child, but it slowly died out as his sadistic side began to show its face and began to get into legal trouble.
Goto's parents constantly bailed him out of trouble/jail, but they went low contact and began to regret being so easy on him after he beat his (at the time) girlfriend death when he was 20.
The primary source of her gender dysphoria comes from social dysphoria. She barely, if ever, experiences body dysphoria.
While she dabbled in petty crime for a while before becoming a Villain, the incident that got her that label officially was when she accidentally killed a man in self-defense using her quirk.
Likes to crotchet, but she is a beginner at it, so she is slow at making stuff and can only make simple things like scarfs and blankets. She was only able to complete a scarf for Himiko and a blanket for Dabi by the time the Shie Hassaikai Arc roles around.
One of three LOV members who successfully graduated from High School.
Before the LOV, he rarely if every played singleplayer/solo-player games. Tomura introduces him to so many games he missed out on because it didn't have co-op.
Was constantly compared to his older cousins growing up. Especially the cousin that got into & graduated from UA
Had the Villain label attached to him longer than Tomura's been alive, but since he'd been assigned the Villainous F Rank he wasn't ever a true priority by the Pro-Heroes. Until he got involved with League of Villains, of course.
Watches and places bets on horse racing. Has only won two bets since he gotten into horse racing.
Would've asked All For One to remove Double if he had known AFO was a real person when the Double Incident occurred.
While her quirk is legally registered as "Transform", after the Saito Incident and running away, she began to calling it "Metamorphosis"
Himiko was put into gymnastics after the first few times she was hit by her parents. Both as a way to explain away any future bruises and as a way to further show her how "normal people" are supposed to act.
Struggles with respecting/remembering other people's boundaries because her own boundaries wasn't ever respected nor listened to growing up.
While he was created to just be the "Protector of Tomura Shigaraki", he essentially turned into All For One's housekeeper before moving into the Dark Cloud Lounge.
While he can't remember his life as Oboro/before becoming Tomura's protector, there are moments of déjà vu. He still has muscle memories from prior too.
Looks over the stray cats that hang around the Dark Cloud Lounge building. He even allows them to venture inside the lounge, especially during the winter.
