Life is a good teacher and a good friend. Things are always in transition, if we could only realize it. Nothing ever sums itself up in the way that we like to dream about. The off-center, in-between state is an ideal situation, a situation in which we don’t get caught and we can open our hearts and minds beyond limit. It’s a very tender, nonaggressive, open-ended state of affairs. To stay with that shakiness - to stay with a broken heart, with a rumbling stomach, with the feeling of hopelessness and wanting to get revenge - that is the path of true awakening. Sticking with that uncertainty, getting the knack of relaxing in the midst of chaos, learning not to panic - this is the spiritual path

there’s a long-running trend of #relatable posts on tumblr about wishing you didn’t have a body, or at least not a human body – wanting to get a robot body, or to exist as a disembodied spirit, or to turn into a monster of some kind
and some of this is from disabled people and/or trans people who’re feeling frustrated with their bodies for various reasons, but a lot of it is also coming from able-bodied cis women
our bodies are the focus of so much male violence/objectification and so many gendered requirements, all media aimed at us tells us we’re naturally hideous, we’re expected to exhaust our bodies while on starvation diets and spend what remaining time we have on costly grooming rituals, men despise us when we aren’t attractive to them and prey on us when we are
so many of us are looking at this situation and saying “if that’s how it’s gonna be as a woman I’d rather not have a body at all, I want to opt out”

The difference between Christmas and now (~260 lbs to ~195). I’ve still got a long way until I’m where I want to be, but when I’m feeling discouraged I need to remember how far I’ve already come and that my goals are absolutely attainable. Also, there hasn’t been a “1” as the first digit of my weight since I was 15 years old, so this is pretty groundbreaking 👌👌👌
