Out Rescuing and Repurposing Great Design

Besides great music and flattering low lighting, nothing screams "it's going to be a swell party" like a signature cocktail, especially when it isn't served in a red Solo cup (there is a time and place for that, don't get me wrong).  This champagne and vodka mix featured some lovely red juniper berries and a soft sprig of pine.  I felt the spirit of the holidays in every sip and when the bartender pushed me out the door with a full one, glass and all, my ride home was hands down, the best ever (No worries, I was not driving - this isn't the 70's afterall).

The Hudson Hotel (NYC) converted their outdoor terrace area into a heated winter chalet filled with cozy blankets, rustic wood and lots of booze to keep everyone feeling "warm and fuzzy".

Just make sure when you check out the famous Starck designed library with its purple pool table and oversized domed lamp by Ingo Maurer, you don't smoke and you don't dance.

My sister found these vintage sterling olive picks at an estate sale and gifted them to me.  Picking the raspberries out of my cocktail instead of using my fingers (hello stained nail-beds) with these throwbacks to a more fab time in history, makes my night.  These puppies my be chinoiserie, but they are definitely not made in China.

My friend's cozy outdoor creation is one of a kind. An antique family bench, horse and british flag pillows (a nod to their upbringing) and a cat statue that has stood watch over her life for 30 yrs, gives it loads of charm.
