Sky Ranch Pampanga

For those looking for an adventure just outside the Metro, Sky Ranch Pampanga is perfect for you. Just an hour away from Metro Manila, lies on of the hidden gems of Pampanga.

How to get there: Take a bus ride via Victory Liner. There are several trips bound Pampanga, Bataan oor Olongapo which will pass by Sky Ranch Pampanga. Kindly ask the bus personnel to drop you off at SM city Pampanga. Once already inside SM City Pampanga, look for the Annex 1  Exit which will lead you to the park.

Activities and Rates:  Skyranch Pampanga offers 22 rides that can be enjoyed by kids and adults. Some of them are as follows:

Tips and Reminders:

The theme park opens at 3pm every weekdays and 12nn on weekends and holidays, and they closes at 12mn everyday. Skyranch has no entrance fee, so you may just wander around the park and take pictures.

Avail the Metrodeal Voucher Sky Ranch offers. They have a ride-all-you-can pass for only 280 pesos.

If you are planning to go during summer, don’t forget to put on your sunscreen. It could get really hot because this is an open area.

Main attractions of the park are the Pampanga Eye and the Carousel. Line can get a bit long for these attractions so bring your patience.

Deca Wakeboard Park

If going to Nuvali or Davao is difficult for you, you can try this place if you want to experience wakeboarding.

How to get there: From Manila, ride a bus to Angeles City. From there, you have to take the Friendship/Side Gate going to Baranggay Margot. It will take you 10-15 minutes to reach your destination. You will see the road going the Decawake Clark Cable Park on the right hand side. Head towards that destination and you will see the towering cable lines on your left.

Rate: Rates varies depending in the number of hours staying. Basic Equipment are included, but if you have your own, you are entitled for a 10% discount on any ticket you’ll purchase.

Puning Hot Spring

At the foot of one of the most destructive volcanoes of the 21st century lies Puning Hot Spring and Sand Spa, a lone resort that reflects the warmth of the thriving Aeta tribe.

How to get there: Commuters from Manila may ride any bus going to Northern Luzon provinces of Tarlac, Pangasinan or Baguio that passes through Dau. Some Victory Liner buses going to north make a stop there. Make sure that the bus stops at Mabalacat Bus Terminal. Get off in the terminal and ride a jeepney or tricycle to Angeles City and transfer to another jeep or trike going to Sapang Bato.

There are 4×4 jeepneys are stationed in Sitio Target, where guests can avail of the day tour package to Puning Hot Spring including the 4×4 ride, buffet lunch, entrance to the hot spring, sand steam, foot massage and mud pack for P3,000.00 per person, minimum of two.

It’s best to take the 4x4 jeepneys after a rainshower because the terrain will be extra slippery and wet. Prepare to get splashed on this bumpy ride—the muddy trail adds an extra kick of adventure!

Cottage/s is an open-air type, hence, guests are reminded not to leave all valuables unattended.

The Department of Science and Technology indicates that the springs have a 7.5 pH level, so it’s beneficial and not detrimental to the skin.

Guests are welcome to immerse themselves in the different hot springs, all filled to the brim with scalding yet relaxing waters coming from the thermal spring of Sacobia River.

SandBox Pampanga is an outdoor attraction that provides several activities for all ages.

How to get there: The place is also accessible via public transportation. From Metro Manila, you can take a Victory Liner bus to Dau either from Cubao, Caloocan or Pasay terminal. From Dau, take a jeep going to SM Clark then take another jeep to Porac. Your drop off point is at Alviera. The fare is estimated to be Php 139- 150.

Mt. Arayat

Mt. Arayat is an extinct volcano located in the island of Luzon with no recorded historical eruption. It is now considered as one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Central Luzon region because of its dominating presence in the mostly flat plains in the are.

Mt. Arayat TKO Quad Peak Trail. Unlike the older hiking trails, the TKO Quad Peak trail passes through all the four peaks of Mt. Arayat (North Peak, South Peak, Pinnacle Peak and TKO peak). The trail of TKO Quad Peak are both challenging and stimulating.

How to get there:Take a bus bound to Olonggapo for 120php at Victory Liner Cubao and ask the driver to drop you off at San Fernando Pampanga. From SM San Fernando, take a jeep plying Magalang route. From the terminal you can take a trike to the jump-off point in Brgy. Ayala, Magalang.

Tips and Reminders:

Don’t forget to bring. Liters of water though there is a water source available before the junction to the white rock and the summit. Mosquito repellent and trail food (power bars) are also recommended to bring. Bring also extra shirts.

Wear proper hiking attire. It would be better if you wear pants or at least have a pair of long socks if you prefer wearing shorts since there are paths wherein you need to pass by grasses.  Also to protect you from insects in the forest and avoid plants/branches to bruise your legs. It would also be much better if you wear shoes instead of sandals but make sure of the soles since the path is slippery. You can bring with you a warmer to protect your hands and a jacket to make you warm during the night.

Before you go on a hike make sure you are physically fit. Try to warm yourself up days before the trail by taking on jogging or exercises. This will help you flex the muscles so you won’t get surprise or have muscle cramps during the trail. Trailing to Mt. Arayat is quite challenging so you must be physically ready. Also should have a proper sleep is recommended before trailing.

It would be fun if you will join to a big number of hikers going to Arayat. Fees may also be lessen if your group is high in number.

How to get there: Take a bus from either Cubao or Pasay terminal and alight at Dau-Mabalacat Bus Terminal. From there, you hire a taxi book a Grab to Aqua Planet. Aqua Planet uses Radio Frequency ID Wristband for purchasing foods and beverages and gift shop items. This RFID is reload able in the RFID kiosk and at the rental counter.

Folding chairs, tents, umbrellas and complimentary lounges are available at the park on a first come first serve policy. Same goes with the parking space.

The Park has a wide area of parking space but go a first come first serve policy.

It is highly suggested to purchase your ticket in advance to avoid ticket queuing.

Bale Batu

You don’t need to travel far from North to South and vise versa just to see beautiful scenery. Just explore the nearby places and you may discover treasures.

Bale Batu, a pyramid shaped structure lying at the foot of Mt. Arayat, is a “hand made” creation of a local artist named Jesus Padilla, he spent more than half of his life building this temple using cement and pulverised mountain rocks.

How to get there: From Manila ride a bus going to Marquee Mall terminal. Then ride a jeepney going to Magalang. From Magalang town, ride tricycle going to    Baliti Gintung Pakpak then look for Bahay na Bato.

Activities:  Bale Batu is private property and not a tourist attraction. No other activity within the area other than picture talking. Every corner is very picture perfect.

Rate: A Php 50 is collected for Environmental fee to maintain the facilities.

Park opens from 8am to 4pm daily.

Commercial photo shoot needs an advance permission for the management

Respect the place. 

Vandalism, littering or any means of human beings indecent actions are prohibited.

Mulberry Farm Pampanga

Mulberry Farm Pampanga or the Wilson’s Instant Tree Bank is the First Mulberry Picking Farm in the Philippines.

How to get there: From Manila, ride a bus via Victory Liner or Five Star going to San Fernando Pampanga. Another option is from San Fernando Intersection, ride a jeepney going to Angeles and tell the driver to drop you at Wilson’s Instant Tree Bank or Mulberry Farm. This is about 20 minutes ride.

Tips and Reminders:

Mulberry picking is Php 50 for one small cup.

Mulberry plant is available for purchase. Price depends on its size that ranges for Php 150 to Php 2500. It comes with free fertilizer.

The farm is open only 6 times a year. These are the season that mulberry is available for picking. This is because mulberry can only produce fruits every 60 days by following their methods.

Best time to visit: Any time of the day as long mulberry is available for picking. Please check picking season.
