Sometimes I draw or paint on my desk and I had these random bottles of nail polish that I can’t remember how they got into my possession since I’ve never painted my nails. So I painted a holo glitter glimglam to remind me to just say “fuck it” and to get on with what I’m doing. It’s been very motivational.

That’s very nice of you to say! :) Thank you. But I will say it’s never good to compare yourself to other artists. I have learned that doing so will slow you down in your own improvement as well as take away from the fun of drawing. I will also state that I’m 28 years old so I’ve been drawing for awhile and it’s only been recently that I’ve actually started to like my own drawings, but that’s because I had to fight the habit of comparing myself to others or being too critical of my own work. I had to stop and remember that drawing is for fun. Once I did that it stopped mattering that I had 30 bad sketches for every 1 drawing I ended up liking. Sorry if this is a long response, I just feel very strongly about being nice to your own art. It may not look like others’ and it may not be where you want it to be, but so long as you’re enjoying yourself, you will get to a point where you can look at your own work and take pride in it.
