MYRCELLA FINDS A GREAT DEAL OF COMFORT in the pleasant smile extended to her by lord willas tyrell. surely , the northern lords & ladies must feel rather uncomfortable with the entirety of southron court encroaching on their homes. a spectacle like this is sure to give some validity to their hesitance - the silly , frivolous princess , ill - prepared for a diplomatic voyage causing a scene in the courtyard. the gesture of the proffered garment warms her heart , and she has half a mind to politely refuse, not wanting him to suffer a similar fate . cautiously , she extends her hand and slings the fabric loosely over her shoulders. ❝ you are very kind , lord tyrell . you’ve saved me from both the chill and the ridicule. ❞ she laughs lightly , a means of taking ownership of her ridiculous predicament.

hello again ! it’s c , back at it with both literal & metaphorical princess myrcella. i also write wynafryd manderly ( whose intro isn’t showing up in the tags so i’m gonna post it HERE ) i’ve never written this babey but i’ve always wanted to so , again , bear with me. this is also going to be so long. i’m literally so sorry. give this a little like and i’ll approach you to plot !
okay , so ! i’m basing my portrayal of myrcella primarily off of the books , particularly because i don’t vibe with the general naiveté that we see with the show’s interpretation. while myrcella is centered in goodness , she absolutely is not blind to the world around her. she’s just susceptible to it in ways that she does not necessarily always see.
to the public myrcella is the daughter of robert baratheon & cersei lannister , though rumors of her parentage ( and the parentage of her siblings ) seem to cyclically circulate. we all know who myrcella’s father is , but myrcella DOESN’T . i personally thought the moment that jaime had with her where she confessed to always knowing in the show was sweet but out of place , and think there is more power in myrcella loving jaime as an uncle and trying to reconcile her own conflicting emotions about her ‘father’ robert.
myrcella’s family dynamics are varied to say the very least. she is the middle child of three ( joffrey and tommen being her brothers )
her relationship with robert is complicated , in the sense that she is duty bound to respect him but does not respect his choices or lifestyle , nor does she feel as though he holds any real love for her.
she absolutely dotes on tommen , and does her best to care for joffrey despite , again , not holding much respect for his opinions or manner. she’s also not even vaguely frightened of him , and that honestly makes her so powerful ?
she absolutely loves her mother. while she does not necessarily see all of the choices cersei makes and the way that she conducts herself , she adores her mother.
myrcella is said to have inherited “all of her mother's beauty, and none of her nature.” so she is in some respects very similar physically to cersei ( and resilient like cersei is ) but doesn’t have the kind of ambition or motivating forces / methods that cersei has. that stuff just does not register with myrcella.
she would inherently like to believe that people have good intentions , but really wars with that element of her nature because she knows that this is not the case. so her life is a constant battle of seeing the game played around her and knowing that she must take part in it , and wishing that life were simpler.
she , however , does have inherently good intentions . she is kind and just kind of radiates light .
she is also incredibly brave - she has to be brave because she knows that she is essentially a pawn. the princess of the seven kingdoms has a lot of political buying power , and so she’s just waiting for someone to use it . for that reason , she faces everything with intense courage. owning her life and approaching it with courage has also given her an intense confidence that does not necessarily come with the crown , but developing a very clear sense of herself.
she’s quick - witted and good at thinking on her feet , partially out of the necessities of the weight of her world , she’s also very polished and refined.
there ! are ! so many quotes about myrcella ! being ‘meant’ or ‘destined’ to be in a position of power ( queen , specifically ) and i think that this is absolutely true ! myrcella has the capability to be powerful because she is inherently good , and clear-sighted and without a lot of pretense , and while , yes , that makes her more vulnerable , it also gives her so much potential i just really love her okay.
TIDBITS !
while myrcella puts on a brave face , she is incredibly anxious ( and at times , angry ) about her future and knowing that she could be easily picked up and displaced at any moment should the political tides change. should she be needed in the game. so she doesn’t necessarily feel very settled in her life.
she’s capable of a lot of anger ( though she would handle it in more reasonable ways , but she’s a lannister at heart so . . . )
a little spoiled ! she wants very much to be humble but her worldview is really skewed toward luxury. it’s something she’s working on.
POTENTIAL CONNECTIONS !
political allies & court mentors - since myrcella is in a place where she has to play the game , cluing her in to plans that might include her or teaching her about politics& the more nuanced elements of court life would be greatly appreciated.
potential past romances - she’s such a romantic so i could see her having a sweetheart of some kind ( likely in or around the capital )
potential future & past betrothals - marriage for myrcella gets thrown around a lot and changes as the wind changes , so i can imagine that she’s been proverbially ‘tenuously’ betrothed before , and will be again.
real friends - give her some. true friends she deserves them.
‘false friends’ - it wouldn’t be terribly difficult to initially trespass on myrcella’s vulnerability and use it to one’s advantage. though she’d likely eventually catch on which could be interesting.
