There's an extra level of craziness to a deep part of caleb wanting to undo veths transformation and go back to when it was just him and nott bc objectively they had such a terrible time back then

Like they were starving and desperate and dirty. Social outcasts (especially nott for obvious reasons), running schemes and stealing just to survive but it was also a time when caleb had nott all to himself before the nein and before learning about veths family and that was enough for a part of him to want that back like okay man

There’s definitely something in Caleb’s mind where Veth is Yeza’s and Luc’s and the Nein’s but Nott is HIS and even if it’s selfish, part of him wants to go back to that. They found each other at their lowest and even if their lives were much harder back then, there was something special about the two of them just surviving together that he can’t help but miss.

What do you mean there was a room they could have gone to that was the river that Veth was drowned. And that there was a chance Caleb would have turned her back into a goblin for that encounter. WHAT

Why is so much of this targeted towards Veth, EVIL (but my angst loving self would have loved it I can’t lie)

Apparently it was in part because Caleb sometimes misses “the old days” where it was just him and Nott on the road.
