JoeeBilli:
Paddling into your earstream, JoeeBilli eases in with a “smooth sailing” vocality that inspires his journey and the listener.
Lining his ducks in a row, he also makes sure to live up to the hype by crooning over an upbeat production.
In a whole JoeeBilli carries his laid-back demeanor in the songs that he creates (& in real life!)
Whether he’s talking about his latest love interest (You) or climbing to the top (Feel Like This) JoeeBilli is shore (ha-ha get it!?) to crash into his own wave of R&B.
Being one who believes in coming from nothing to something in this industry —California resident JoeeBilli dived into music head first with Earth, Wind & Fire(thanks to his grandmother.) Since his grandmother’s family is the Bereal’s it was easy for him to go to the studio & learn / watch these guys make NOISE in the gospel industry. According to Billi it was really pivotal for him ‘“I’ve learned how to create from them & the musicians at church. Essentially they showed me how to play, understand keys, timing & production.”
Before the clock stroke twelve, JoeeBilli then produced his first full body of work with a rap duo called ShaqnLivin. “The tape was 95% produced by me. I got a lot of independent experience & acknowledgment with that tape. “ Billi adds. ShaqnLivin then went on “The Ground Up Tour” with Marty Grimes & SNL, hitting over 17 states in a matter of 2 months & they were performing their songs in front of a wave of new faces each day. At the time JoeeBill was also djing music he produced for an artist he worked with for the first time “& man seeing people that don’t know you dance & vibe to your music was the best feeling ever!” he chimes in.
Adding on, JoeeBilli has also lapped his producing skills in a couple of songs. The list includes Set It Off & I’m Blessed off of Casey Veggie’s album Live & Learn, & In Between Us by Nipsey Hussle ft K Camp.
JoeeBilli has even worked with Tank, Siya from Sisterhood of HipHop & Vory, Bryson Tiller’s partnered songwriter for Don’t! (just to name a few)
The term JoeeBilli is actually an acronym of his government name (official much?!). Joee stands for Josh Over Everything & “Billi” in short, means billionaire. “Making music is everything to me” Billi says “It’s a good feeling when I’m able to really pursue an idea from start to finish & then have a final product. When I get inspired by a sound or a feeling I love to see where I can take it musically & actually doing it brings joy. Without music I wouldn’t be happy. I would feel like I wouldn’t have a voice to express myself. If that makes any sense.
Through his sound JoeeBilli tries to convey that Pharrell Williams vibe! “I use to love everything he produced & the songs he created as a artist.” The same thing applies with Kanye West. According to JoeeBilli “they paved the way for his sound & inspired him. If they could do it, he also believes that he can become a top producer & artist in the game.
JoeeBilli is also inspired by Tank, Jamie Foxx, Brandy, Usher, Joe, Carl Thomas, Chris Brown(“Yo” Chris Brown) Ryan Leslie & Avant. “Just having that soul means you can connect with others through your music. It means you can either help or comfort others through your sound.”
But really, all of you should expect many great things from this soon-to-be professional artist. He’s going to be on the charts/working with other artist on the charts, traveling & doing festival shows.
Make sure to stream his latest album, The Billi Show.
