“if you’re loved by someone you’re never rejected”
We all want the same things...... to love and to be loved.

O Tell Me The Truth About Love - Poem by WH Auden
Some say love's a little boy, And some say it's a bird, Some say it makes the world go round, Some say that's absurd, And when I asked the man next door, Who looked as if he knew, His wife got very cross indeed, And said it wouldn't do. Does it look like a pair of pyjamas, Or the ham in a temperance hotel? Does its odour remind one of llamas, Or has it a comforting smell? Is it prickly to touch as a hedge is, Or soft as eiderdown fluff? Is it sharp or quite smooth at the edges? O tell me the truth about love. Our history books refer to it In cryptic little notes, It's quite a common topic on The Transatlantic boats; I've found the subject mentioned in Accounts of suicides, And even seen it scribbled on The backs of railway guides. Does it howl like a hungry Alsatian, Or boom like a military band? Could one give a first-rate imitation On a saw or a Steinway Grand? Is its singing at parties a riot? Does it only like Classical stuff? Will it stop when one wants to be quiet? O tell me the truth about love. I looked inside the summer-house; It wasn't even there; I tried the Thames at Maidenhead, And Brighton's bracing air. I don't know what the blackbird sang, Or what the tulip said; But it wasn't in the chicken-run, Or underneath the bed. Can it pull extraordinary faces? Is it usually sick on a swing? Does it spend all its time at the races, or fiddling with pieces of string? Has it views of its own about money? Does it think Patriotism enough? Are its stories vulgar but funny? O tell me the truth about love. When it comes, will it come without warning Just as I'm picking my nose? Will it knock on my door in the morning, Or tread in the bus on my toes? Will it come like a change in the weather? Will its greeting be courteous or rough? Will it alter my life altogether? O tell me the truth about love.
WH Auden
We are what we love to read, and when we admit to loving a book, we admit that the book represents some aspect of ourselves truly, whether it is that we are suckers for romance or pining for adventure or secretly fascinated by crime.

Have you ever caught yourself staring at someone because you were curious about them and/or their situation? What did you do after they caught your attention? Did you introduce yourself and start a conversation? Or, did you just continue to stare?
One might say that I tend to stand out in the crowd, because of my visible tattoos and the fact that I drive a rather large pink power wheelchair. I have gotten use to people taking second glances as I roll past them. It’s a natural human reaction to stare at something or someone who peaks your curiosity. I’ll admit, that there are times when I catch myself staring at someone that catches my attention. Once I realize it, I might briefly smile, and keep on going or I will take the time to stop and introduce myself and talk with them.
From my perspective, staring only leads to wondering. The person staring wonders about the circumstances of the person that caught their attention. While the person being stared at, is probably wondering why that person keeps looking at them.
“Are they staring at my wheelchair?”
“Do they like what they see?”
“Maybe, they recognize me from somewhere.”
“They must like my tattoos.”
“Hell, they’re staring so hard, they must be jealous.“
Children’s curiosity is always intriguing to me. It always makes me smile to see a cute little face looking my way. I usually go out of my way to say hi and show them all the cool things my chair can do. Showing kids my wheelchair, usually gets the kids interested and they start asking questions. I then get to educate future generations on how a person with a disability is just like they are. We just might do certain things a little differently.
The next time you are out and about, and you catch yourself staring at someone that catches your attention, I challenge you to go up and introduce yourself! You never know what could happen :)
Some wonderful advise and a worthy challenge from someone i respect deeply. Thanks for the read @wheelchairwhit

Shane here! Let’s all be honest: being in love is GREAT. There’s nothing else on Earth like that warm fuzzy feeling of affection you get when cuddling up next to someone you love. That’s why Valentine’s Day is so amazing, it’s a day to show our significant other how over-the-moon crazy we are about them. That is… if you have a significant other.
This year, I’m thoroughly single (single tear drips down my face), and although I contemplated asking my cats to be my Valentines, I have a feeling their eternal fear of my wheelchair is going to create some problems in our relationship.
Instead, I’d like to spread some love this Valentine’s day!
The nonprofit organization that I run, Laughing At My Nightmare, is dedicated to helping people with my disease live more awesome lives. We give a variety of equipment grants for everything from medical equipment to ramps and technology devices. In 2015, we gave away 15 grants to 15 people. This year, we’re aiming even higher!
You can help by giving a Valentines donation this year! For just $5.00, you’ll receive a super-secret, super-sexy Valentine from Yours Truly. It took me hours to make, so please frame it or sleep with it or eat it so that it becomes a part of your body forever. (Don’t eat it.)
With your help donating and sharing this with your friends, I’ll be able to fall asleep full of love on February 14th, knowing that hundreds of you loved me enough to support my efforts to help others with muscular dystrophy!

Treasure in Jars of Clay
Paul says:
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you.

Like Trying to breathe with your head in a plastic bag.
yes, i'm trying my best. seems like this time last year, we were together, peaceful. its not that way now. I wake up everyday wishing things were different. I'm close to 30 now. in my late 20's being completely physically dependent on someone is so hard When on the inside, its the last thing i want. And when it gets held over your head by the person you have to depend on, it absolutely sucks the life out of you.
