The sun rose over Eden. There was a chill in the air despite the summer sun. It was Reaping Day. All of the districts were abuzz with hushed whispers. Some with excitement and pride. Places where it was an honor to enter the annual killing games. It didn't matter whether you lived or died.

Other districts were full of fear. Fear they would lose a loved one, a friend. A customer even to those in districts where coin was hard to come by. The games were nothing but a curse to them. They could never be sure they would see those who were chosen again. No one could be. Such was the way of the Hunger Games. A yearly reminder that they were stuck under the Capitol's reign. Any attempts of rebellion, even whispers of it, would result in a bloodbath worse than the games could ever be.

Tread carefully dear reader. For this is your final warning. A story such as this can only be filled with heartbreak and agony. It is full of forbidden love in a place it should not bloom. Of death, of loss. Only one can leave the Hunger Games alive. No matter how much our protagonists shall wish otherwise.
