#MYSTERYSOCIETY . . . is an 18+, literate, skeleton and original character, limited-run roleplay set at a secluded manor on the Welsh coast. Inspired by the likes of Ruth Ware, Agatha Christie, and Gillian Flynn, the story blends dark academia with tense, suspenseful mystery. Members take on the roles of academics, scholars, and influential figures summoned to the manor for a mysterious two-week winter retreat, navigating rivalry, ambition, and the secrets that everyone keeps. Every interaction, discovery, and hidden truth has consequences, and the manor’s true purpose reveals itself only to those willing to look closer.
Mystery Society is structured in phases: every season, members vote on the plotline, shaping the story together and deciding which mysteries they will face next. Once a plot concludes, a new vote begins, giving writers the chance to explore fresh suspense, intrigue, and danger with every cycle.
Next Acceptances: Tuesday, March 24th and Thursday, March 26th at 1pm est.
Today, we’re closing the doors on Mystery Society.
We gave this second run everything we could, but it never quite found the momentum or connection we were hoping for. Sometimes a concept needs more time, or a different shape entirely, and we’ve decided to step back and rethink what Mystery Society can be.
To everyone who joined us, contributed, and believed in the idea, thank you. Your presence and creativity brought something real to this space, even if it was brief.
This is not a farewell, just a pause. Over the next couple of months, we’ll be reworking our concepts and inviting you all to help decide what comes next.
We appreciate all the effort, energy, and heart you shared with us.
Private Charter to Nevern, Wales A short journey. One departure, All expenses paid.
Invitations told guests to arrive on their own. But the train has other ideas.
The Britannic Explorer is a restored luxury sleeper inspired by early-20th-century British exploration cars. It leaves London Victoria just after dusk. All Expenses covered. Mahogany corridors, brass fittings, and frosted glass doors with floral etchings set the scene. The dining car glows with linen and candlelight. In velvet-wrapped observation lounges, the countryside slips by, quiet as a kept secret.
The trip takes about six hours, with a private late night stop in Pembrokeshire before a car takes everyone on to the manor. Guests dine together.
THE TRAIN MANIFEST
The Britannic Explorer → Wales
A private Belmond-style train departs from London Victoria, its carriages dressed in polished wood and brass fittings, the quiet confidence of people used to exclusivity. The journey will take just under five hours, winding west through the countryside before cutting toward the Welsh coast. Guests board throughout the late afternoon; dinner is served as the light fades, and conversations begin before anyone admits they’re nervous. No one was told who else would be aboard. Of course, many recognize each other anyway.

Dear Guests, welcome to mysterysociety! we're so happy you're here with us. Please, post at least one open in our tag mysterysociety.open of your muse on the train. How they move around is completely up to you. Are they enjoying their time? Are they looking for more information about the invitation? Have they already started discussing academia? It's important to remember that the moderators view how two characters may converse in the way a butterfly take flight. Could a conversation between characters spark a series of events? Who knows.
