In 2016, the Sfumato Society deployed four of its finest specialists into the restricted sectors of the Paris Catacombs. Their objective was to locate [REDACTED], a site rumored to exist deep within the unmapped, and far beyond the public tunnels.

The Team:

Dr. Jade Ware (Lead Archaeologist): Notably known for achieving the 2006 discovery of The Lost Ossuary of Saint-Catherine. 

Dr. Muhammed Zafar (Geologist): Expert in subterranean structural integrity; tasked with ensuring the tunnels would hold.

Dr. Hella Pfeijffer (Historian): Specialized in forbidden sects and underground rituals.

Lloyd Catton (Technical Officer): Responsible for documentation and equipment.

The Disappearance: The group entered the network on [REDACTED] and were never seen again. No distress calls were received. Search parties found no physical traces, no bodies, no equipment, only silence.

The Evidence: Months later, a single damaged camera was recovered near an entrance shaft. The footage is fragmented but disturbing. It shows the group stumbling upon a gathering in a vast, unnatural cavern. They are not alone. The video captures figures in robes conducting a ritual around an altar. The audio cuts out shortly after a voice speaks a name that does not exist in any record.

What are your thoughts on the Wifies that became the director? I know it was driven by emotion (something you seem to abhor), but wasn’t he impressive?

Didn’t his power impress you? Even the slightest bit? Or does the emotion immediately negate any respect he might’ve earned?

What are you afraid of…? Common answers range from heights to public speaking. Or childhood fears of the dark and spiders that follow into adulthood. Then there are those that go quiet at the question who know that no one will believe what they’re truly scared of. Located in the quaint town of Duskview, Massachusetts, the Ambrose Association was created in 1844 by its esteemed founder Jacob Ambrose and is considered the laughingstock among the academic community. While its peers research practical subjects like science or medicine, the association is known for opening its doors to those who have experienced… The unexplainable. On the outside, it appears to be like any other academic research facility. Specializing in myths, legends, and the paranormal. Though many within its walls know that the reports they receive are far from fiction. Employees working in the library and intake may still hold a healthy amount of skepticism that the work they are doing is legitimate, but others in extraction and research know just how real the threats humanity faces are. And who knows what workers in the mysterious underground archives have going on. Some associates may find themselves compelled to accept a position with ulterior motives. To find an explanation for their own secret encounters that have left them scarred.
