Warm and lovely
Pairing: Lavashipping with BrOTP Cole and Jay, Kai and Lloyd
Summary: Kai is warm, and Cole loves him because of it. Expecially after a day in the snow with his best friend

As soon as Cole entered, the beautiful heat of the room melted his bones.
-Brr, it’s freezing out there!-. Jay rubbed his hands against each other.
Cole rolled his eyes.
-Then why did we had to go on a last-minute gifts search all over the city?-.
-Hey! Not my fault you don’t put effort in making present! Or at least, you do just for one person!-. Jay hugged the bags full of gifts against his chest. -I did researches for all of these, for all of you, and I do not regret it! Jay Walker never do things by halves!-.
Cole signed in resignation. He loved spending time with his best bud, but sometimes he was really tiring. Especially since Nya’s present took all day just because the master of lightning couldn’t find the right color. Not that he minded that much, he was too looking forward to his own present under the tree. Knowing Jay, he was kinda expecting a giant chocolate cake.
Jay ran to his room, screaming something about having to wrap all the gifts and having almost finished the tape – of course he would forget something so important. Cole went straight to the living room. As soon as he opened the door, a wave of heat hit him. He sighed in relief. It was almost invigorating. But they didn’t have a fireplace there, how was it so warm? As soon as he reached the sofa, he knew why.
On the couch Kai was watching the television, wearing nothing but a black shirt with no sleeves – he just liked to show in everybody’s face how he was self-heated –, zapping with a bored look on his face. On his right Lloyd was snuggled against his side, sleeping silently, covered by a wool blanket. The green ninja looked incredibly peaceful, with those messy hair and a serene smile. It was a shame to interrupt that moment.
Cole fake a cough. Kai looked up at him and smiled.
-Hi, babe. How was the crazy ride?-.
-Are you calling it like that just because Jay was there?-.
Kai shrugged with a sly smile on his face.
-Take your conclusion.-.
Cole smiled ironically.
-It was great. Especially when Jay had a crisis because Nya’s scarf was blue sky and not blue lake.-.
Kai snickered.
-It’s not like my sis will love him less. I accepted that.-. He put a hand on the blondie’s back, shaking it a little. -Lloyd. Lloyd, come on, my arm is sleepy now.-.
Lloyd yawned, opening his eyes. He looked at Kai, then he noticed the black ninja.
-Hi Cole. How was the crazy ride?-.
Kai laughed.
-That’s my bro.-.
-Sorry to do this to you, Lloyd, but can I have my boyfriend back?-. The master of earth lowered a bit. -Please?-.
The green ninja pouted, closing his eyes again.
-But he is waaaaarm…-.
-I know. That’s why I’m dating him.-.
-Kinda hoped because that time I ate your stew without complaining once.-. Kai winked. -I was speechless, looking at you with that pink apron. That, or maybe I was just suffocating.-.
Cole rolled his eyes. He sat on Kai’s left, letting his head fall on his shoulder. Trying to find position he accidentally pushed the controller, switching off the television.
Lloyd looked at him. He sighed.
-I know where this is going. Might as well leave before any cheesy moment start.-.
-Like this one?-. Kai kissed Cole’s frozen cheek, snuggling his nose against the other’s. The master of earth let out a dreamy sound.
The green ninja made a sound of disgust. He got up, grabbing the blanket and making a cocoon around himself.
-I’ll just ask Zane to make me a hot chocolate.-.
-Don’t exaggerating, or Santa will bring you coal!!-.
-If it’s sweet coal, I’m cool with it!!-.
Kai laughed. And it was such a beautiful sound for Cole. Low but not too much, energetic but also peaceful, especially in these moments of tranquility. Most important, full of warm. If fire could talk, he was sure it would have his voice.
The black ninja looked at him, while wrapping an arm around his back. He got him closer.
-You’re a bad influence for that kid.-.
Kai shrugged.
-If he will become as cool as me, it will be all worth it.-.
Cole laughed.
-You’re such an egomaniac.-.
-I know, but you’re still dating me.-. Kai smirked at him. -So being an egomaniac and a bad influence definitely pays off.-. He looked incredibly content. Maybe that was why today was warmer than the other days. It was about emotions?
Cole didn’t care. He just hid his head in Kai’s neck.
-I still can’t believe how warm you are.-.
-Master of fire, duh. It’s not like it’s such a surprise.-.
-Have you always been like this?-.
-A human radiator? Pretty much. You should have seen Nya when we were little, always trying to sneak into my bed because it was warmer.-. Kai giggled. -Mom used to tell it was because my heart was full of kindness. Guess it wasn’t about that at all, huh?-.
Cole smiled, holding his hand.
-I don’t know. I think it’s a combination of both.-.
Kai blushed a little.
-You’re so sappy.-. When he stopped talking, Cole was already on him.
Kai’s lips were warm and soft. The most beautiful feeling was melting on them. Feeling the words they couldn’t tell, ‘cause they were both so bad at being extroverted. That’s why they always smiled. That was why they always looked exhausted after few seconds. But resting on each other’s forehead, lost in each other’s glare, was like never really stopping.
Cole was enchanted. Those fire embers were simply beautiful. When the black ninja fought against him at the temple. When he reached his true potential. When a little spark of joy ran through them that time Cole found the courage to tell him his feelings.
It didn’t matter the time. They were beautiful. He was beautiful.
-You’re beautiful.-. The words left way before he realized it. And when he did, the master of earth blushed so much he felt like the truest elder of the fire element.
Kai looked surprised. He smiled.
-And you’re amazing, Cole.-. Kai kissed him on the cheek. -I love you.-. He felt like blushing too. It was so hard, so embarrassing.
But for those two emeralds to shine like that, it was all worth it.
-I love you too.-.
It was warm. Warm and lovely.
