fantasy au where Bruno is recruiting a bunch of truly insane kids just off the street is so dear to me. bbg everyone is confused. one of fugo's abilities is straight up called Hurl Through Hell. this is the craziest anyone's ever done it.

the gang's classes are mostly based on general vibes of said classes instead of actual stats. for example while wizard bruno and warlock fugo would mean that bruno has a higher intelligence score than fugo (untrue) and fugo has a higher charisma score than bruno (incredibly untrue), I think the classes themselves and their abilities fit the characters well enough that it works out. when has technical accuracy ever mattered in jjba

The idea of Bruno and Fugo kind of being a duo for a while is really intriguing to me. There's a level of intimacy and familiarity there, an almost-childish (especially because Bruno actually recruits Fugo when he's 17) camaraderie, that immediately changes forever upon the addition of a third member. And in my head Fugo isn't even good at harnessing his powers before he trains with the gang, so he really was a very odd choice as a person to bet on. Wizards and warlocks don't even have impressive battle synergy. Definitely a very soft-hearted and maybe a little bit desperate decision from Bruno, who goes on to generally be wayy more strategic about who he picks out.
