MYSTIX LIVE @BACKROOMSESSIONSMIA THE FISH HOUSE MIAMI REVIEW
A review on my experience @backroomsessionsmia-blog at The Fish House Miami (click to go to their site)
As soon as my car neared I already saw cars spilling into the venue. The good vibes were emanating from The fish house. You could tell from afar that it was a full house. As soon as we got our parking spot I walked to the entrance and I was instantly greeted by @writtenreal she later on told me about her site which is a networking site for all types of artists, which is an ingenious idea. She was friendly and helped me find what I needed. They had people all around in case anyone needed help or wanted anything. The servers for the Fish house were super friendly and helpful and got every ones food on time. I recommend that restaurant to anyone in the westchester area. It’s really cute locally owned by really sweet people. The owners, Angela and Jose Rivero were really accommodating. I was offered free wine from Jose (after being ID’d obviously) and Angela bought one of my “Miami-Dade Artist” T-Shirts. I’ve honestly never felt so welcomed at an event. The owners of this restaurant really appreciate art and artists and I’m just in love with how nice they were. I was quickly accommodated with a Merch table by their lovely daughter Angie (@_luna_lunera) and her team at the restaurant.
The inside stage was packed, they were at CAPACITY. Luckily there was an outside portion of the event and a second stage and DJ which was totally awesome. There was artists spread everywhere talking and networking, I felt at home. There was a variety alternative type performers like @vivaliaviva dancing with flames. I also got to chat quickly with @lilli_futuristic who is a photographer/model.
Who I would like to collaborate with in the future.
I also chatted with @alohrachyrie who purchased a Bruja CD. She told me about her brand @thefollicle, she makes tye-dyed hand sewn hats.
It really inspires me to meet with other goddesses and hear about their art and what they do. I feel it’s important to give every goddess a moment to listen to their thoughts and what they are aspiring to do or doing. I’m a big advocate of PLUR! I’m glad backroomsessions provided the vibe for these interactions to happen.
Here is the VLOG and performance video I edited.
Thank you for watching! For more info on my stage antics proceed to read.
For this event I wanted to bring my art to the stage and display it as I perform since backroomsessions promotes and encourages artists to display their artwork on the walls of the performance room. I made this pyramid all by hand. Here are a couple photos of it in the process of making it.
I made this pyramid by scratch to take as an onstage display for my stones and CDS.The team from Backroomsessions let me build my backdrop stand backstage and accommodated me with the space and stool needed for my pyramid. The tapestry holder was also hand made by me. Below is a video on how I made it in case you want a display for your home or event.
The tapestry was designed by me and is for sale on my website MYSTIXOFFICIAL.COM
For this show I wore my Watercolor all seeing flower Dress from my clothing line SPELLS with a vintage screen print Jimi Hendrix shirt over it from when I was in a Punk band.
Overall it was a really beautiful experience. I have been sending out all this positive energy to the universe and was hoping everyone else will soon be on the same wave of UNITY. Backroomsessions was a lovely example of that energy. For this show I had my film crew (@therealtraumatize @freddystonez) to back me up and grab some photos. I’m really thankful of all the goddesses I met and my team who backed me up. Thank you!
