"My yesterdays are disappearing, and my tomorrows are uncertain, so what do I live for? I live for each day. I live in the moment. Some tomorrow soon, I’ll forget that I stood before you and gave this speech. But just because I’ll forget it some tomorrow, doesn’t mean that I didn’t live...

Hey here’s what you’ve missed out this week in Singapore (unless you went to the general market, then YOU-GO-GLENN-CO-CO). Last Saturday (28 Dec), I headed down to Gillman Barracks for The General Market at the U-Factory presented to you by Tyrwhitt General Company and The U Factory. For those of you who are new to Gilman Barrack, that’s the place where the legendary Ramen Burger can be found in this little island (That’s not the point). The U-Factory, is a platform curated by Underscore, an award winning independent magazine with content that carefully curates the best artists and designers in Singapore.
There were numerous workshops and talks down at The General Market. Crafters and designers alike line up at the pop-up store and as you can see in the pictures, I went berserk when I saw the Fabrix cases and carry-all tote bags. The Organisation of Illustrators Council set up their very own DreamInk, where many illustrators in Singapore gather to draw and sketch. I particularly love their sound inspiration room. I wished I took more pictures, but basically, it was a room with colourful speakers you can plug your playlist into.
Overall, The General Market was an awesome experience for any aspiring young artist or designer. You get to rub shoulders (unless you’re shy) with people like Michael Mindflyer, Jerry Goh, and Pat Law just to name a few.
Stay tune on this blog to check out more coverage on the best places to be at in Singapore’s Arts and Design scene!
Where is this!!! Looks so pretty
Caught in a tangled mess with Mr. Twisty Twist
Chinese New Year is round the corner which means…………… YES TWISTER FRIES IS BACK. Yeap that’s right, I am actually more excited over twister fries than the arrival Chinese New Year.
"I’m so sick of Twister Fries" said no one.
Twister Fries is one of my favourite from MacDonald, I really can eat it all day (if its not for the calories). However, human beings are really so fickle minded, after having so many days of twister fries, I kinda miss the normal straight fries again. Ugh human nature isn’t it, you only know how much something mean to you only when its gone. Don’t missed it this time round (available till the end of CNY) or the next time you’ll see it is literally next Chinese New Year.
I hope they will include twister fries a fixed item on their menu but then again if it’s going to be there all 365days, then there’s nothing special about it anymore isn’t it. Apart from twister fries, MacDonald have come up with many variations of fries over the past few years. Leave a comment and let me know which one is your favourite?
SEAWEED SHAKER FRIES
The founder of this week’s cafe shares something in common with me, and that’s probably made me want to write more about this place! Wimbly Lu Chocolate Cafe it is!
Starting of in the media industry, the founder of this homely cafe decided on a career switch, probably the best decision ever, or else how would we ever get to taste all these goodness!
Tucked away from the bustling crowd, Wimbly Lu is located in Serangoon amongst the terrace houses. The foreign inspired cottage styled cafe makes you feel like you’re at home! Make an escape trip with your friends, just a few hours, away from the projects and assignments. Just the trick for a good break to leave you with energy to take on a whole week ahead.
Scan through the menu and you’ll realise they’re all about desserts! They do have their savoury desserts for those who aren’t the sweet tooth kind of people, but for the majority of us, MUST TRY TO DIE FOR DESSERTS. Well even more if you’re a chocolate fan though, cause they’re most recommended would be their chocolate lava cake (that only costs SGD $6), one of the cheapest around in town. 2 other favourites would be their root beer float cake & their waffles! Root Beer + Float = Smart or what? Extremely unique taste!
Well if you’re someone who isn’t the biggest fan of chocolates, fret not! There’s Creme Brûlée & Bread and butter sticky pudding. Not as good as their chocolate dishes, but well worth the try!
I’ll favour the chocolate desserts for their rich taste and unique creativity (ROOT BEER CAKE), but we’ve all got our preferences don’t we? Check this place out soon!

Been here before and the root beer float cake is delicioussssssss *_*
Jake Evans, 17, said he had watched the Rob Zombie remake of Halloween three times earlier that week and felt the ease and little remorse of the murderer would be 'the same for me when I kill someone'.
I think this is a really good (and extremely disturbing) on how the media is an extremely powerful tool. Sure, we always say that we know it isn't real and it's just on TV but then things like this happen........ My heart goes out to the surviving members of his family I can't imagine how they're going to deal with this...
In a campaign video, Leo Burnett Change highlights the difficulties that ex-prisoners face when looking for jobs.
I was shown this today during Media Psych class and I thought it was very effective. Firstly, it was really clever to make use of the Youtube Skip Ad that everyone is so used to clicking immediately.
And also, the fact that every time you clicked it the ad changed and became more desperate added a sense of realness to it. The interactiveness and the idea itself tied in together very nicely, thumbs up for this I'm sure the point of the ad got across to many people.
The Book Thief - The Standover Man
This sister and brother duo have the most beautiful relationship in the world. When he says his life would be nothing without his little sister, you'll be moved to tears.
Chanced upon this on social media and the title drew me because it seemed pretty sweet. Love how her face is just like "what is he doing......" when he's crying and hugging her T_T he seems like a really good older brother.

Peter Jackson’s cameo in Bree from DoS and FotR
HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF YEARS HAS THIS MAN BEEN WANDERING AROUND BREE WITH A CARROT.
Don't you just love cameos like this? Another cameo that I really loved was Johnny Depp's cameo in 21 Jump Street, I would never have expected him to be one of the druggies?? Thumbs up
