If a persons religious beliefs are “literal” and they take every myth in their religion as fact, that’s fine.
If a persons religious beliefs are conceptualand are by idea (eg this myth was an explanation of spring) that’s fine too.
If a persons religious beliefs are a mix of both conceptual and literal, that’s fine as well.
You don’t get to dictate how someone follows a religion. You don’t get to say “well actually”.
All types of religious beliefs are valid and should be respected.
As long as no one shoving it on people or using religion to discriminate against people or harm people, then it does not matter. It does not affect you.
Just saw another long post about how we, some Hellenistic pagans, are doing religion wrong for how we interpret myth. I blocked them but:
Again, read the above. As long as no one is getting hurt, who cares how someone worships a deity compared to you? I wake up before sunrise to thank Lord Apollon as it rises, but apparently that’s “not correct” as I’m “personalising gods”. But it brings me joy, and I feel like I am approaching my religious beliefs how I want to approach them. So who cares?
You should not get to dictate how I worship in my religion. I don’t get to dictate how you worship.
