I live for ship names that describe couples
Maggie Sawyer + Alex Danvers = #SAVERS
C’mon, it doesn’t get any better than that!
"...fancy seeing you here." ( maggiiesawyer @ alex )
“It’s not what you think.” Oops! Soft chuckles slipped through curled lips as brown eyes casted downward —an attempt to hide her slightly flushed cheeks. She wasn’t even sure about what Maggie was thinking, but she felt as if she had been caught trying to sneak out in the middle of the night. “I’m following a lead, this seemed like a good place to start.” Not a lie… but she had also been hoping to catch a glimpse of the detective there.
It was difficult not to feel a natural attraction towards someone who was so genuine, clever… warm. She was used to deceit; it was part of who Alex Danvers was: small white lies, big secrets —hiding Kara’s identity, lying about her actual job to everyone, even her mother, being adamantly private about her personal life. Meeting someone like the detective had been refreshing, someone far from the coldness of scientific study, with a different perspective in life, a passion and a dedication that made you see things with new eyes.

“No, I do believe I’m quite sane. You see, I had warned the CDC about this, they thought me mad for believing that zombiism was scientifically possible, but who is laughing now?” He clicked his tongue considering his word choice. “Well, no one’s actually laughing, but I was right and they were wrong and now, I would be immensely grateful if you let me check your arm for any possible bites or scratches…”
@ofkaleidoscopes fell for it hook, line and sinker.
Jo almost immediately grabs Alex and cuddles into her. “PRECIOUS CINNAMON ROLL TOO GOOD FOR THIS WORLD” Jo nuzzles into Alex happily.
Lips pursed attempting to hide a smile that inevitably slipped through. “Are you okay? What’s this supposed to be about?”
That episode... gdi, it was so goooooooood! I’m a mess!

❝ So who are we going to contact today? How about China! Do you think their toilets flush in the same direction? ❞
❝ Unfortunately, our range is rather limited, roughly a 20 to 25 mile square ratio, we can maybe reach someone in Ohio. ---Actually... there is a very small chance that Coriolis effect might affect the water in sinks and toilet bowls, but it’s not entirely impossible. ❞ Thin lips curved into a mustachioed smile.
Phantom Zone City || Danny & Alex
His limit was hit, Danny couldn’t keep up with the amount of ghosts that now seemed to plague National City. Luckily he’d caught the majority of the smaller nuisances which drove the stronger ghosts underground. Likely not to be seen for some time. Which would give him time to get accustomed to being in his ghost form for longer periods of time. It had been years since he had sustained it for so long. This was supposed to be a quiet trip, not a workout.
White hair transitioned back into it’s black, green eyes becoming blue once again, and his suit disappearing altogether in favor of his civilian clothing. Just seconds and he was just another guy on the street again. Albeit a somewhat famous guy to be considered another Joe on the street, but this was better than ghost boy.
“This place is as bad as Amity Park used to be,” he mumbled. Danny took a few moments to catch his breath before realizing that someone was there.
“Um… can I help you?”
|| @ofkaleidoscopes ||
Strange activity had been detected by the DEO and they had identified an infestation of ghosts that had, quickly and without warning, taken over National City. While still fitting the category of extranormal, this wasn't exactly their area of expertise, but they had quickly put their best minds to work to search for a solution.
“Quite the contrary,” she answered. “I'm here to help you. Agent Danvers, Department of Extranormal Operations,” she said flashing her badge. Had this man been anyone else, she would have used her fake FBI badge, weaved some kind of lie to appease his curiosity and moved on to complete her mission. But he wasn't a civilian, so she had to be honest, it was the only way to set the foundation for the kind of trustworthy collaboration she was looking to establish with the notorious Danny Phantom.
“Our agency has taken notice of the gravity of this situation and we are trying to locate the source to put an end to it. With our resources and your skills, we can contain this together. What do you say, would you be interested in a symbiotic partnership?”
Swift feet stumbled to a sloppy stop almost as soon as the commanding voice called out to her; a swift curse escaping underneath her breath. Granted, this time she wasn’t to blame for the alarm that was sounding loudly from the nearby convenience store, but still… interacting with the police had never been something Kaneko enjoyed to do. She manages to hide her eye-roll before lazily lifting both hands up on either side of her, twisting on a heel to face the detective with a disgruntled frown.
“— I didn’t do anythin’.”
“Criminals will say anything to save their own skin, so we'll see about that.” She inspected the other's posture and facial expression; nothing about it screamed guilty, just annoyed, but she had to be sure. Cold-hearted criminals could be so difficult to read, even with all her years of experience, there was never a definite answer until all the pieces fit in together... but that didn't happen always. “Stand against the wall, slowly, not sudden movements.”
“Haven’t we all?” It’s voiced not in a comforting way but as a statement of fact, although there was still that gentle tone that accompanied it–quiet and soft. The last thing she wanted to do is come off as pitying as Kristen knew well how detrimental such a thing could be when in a position like Renee’s. No, she wanted to help, to support–throwing pity into the mix would only exacerbate the situation. “You’re stronger than that. You are stronger than your mistakes. Just know that.” A sigh sounded, gaze turned down to the floor to avoid the expression on the detective’s face as it worried far too much. Montoya didn’t need this on her shoulders. “Maybe you should take a day off? Go do something relaxing.”
She didn't like appearing weak before anyone, particularly not at work, but something about Kristen seemed to disarm her, allowed her to express her feelings, and she was grateful. “Can you believe that my idea of relaxation is solving cases?” She pursed her lips into a small smile. "Knowing that I can put an end to someone else's suffering, to right wrongs." Once upon a time, it had been drinking and popping pills, which in retrospect was much more detrimental, but less frustrating; she missed the numbing effect, but didn't miss the sorry excuse of a person her addiction had made her. “I can't even remember the last time I did something just for fun.” She took a deep breath and broke the funky mood with a little chuckle. “I don't even think I know how to anymore.”
“It’s not enough. Me being safe is not enough. That’s not going to help anyone.” The words tumbled out of her mouth before she could stop herself, silently cursing that rambling that had resulted. It sounded so pathetic but it was the honest truth in Kristen’s mind. “I’d take Falcone and Maroni back any day of the week. Organized crime? At least it’s got something going for it.”
A single nod in agreement; why did things have to get messier instead of improving? “Kristen.” She shared the feeling... nothing ever seemed to be enough. Working at the GCPD, aiming to keep people safe ---none of it was ever enough. Taking down an evil meant that three more would arise shortly after, the never-ending cycle of evil. “It helps me. I need to know there's still people like you out there, that not everyone is tainted, rotten.”
