As far as I can tell, Ken was originally meant to be the joke/bad route, you can tell because he was the easiest to woo and people were always like "shoot, I got flippin Ken. I wanted Castiel/Nathaniel." Hell, you can tell because of how candy looks in the illustration. It's always bothered me that there was no way Ken was going to be treated as a serious route unless he became "traditionally handsome", with sixpack steroid abs (let's not get it twisted, back then he was probably the only one who deserved them.) and suddenly higher cheekbones, etc.

But imagine if we'd continued to have the joke/bad route and with some slow burn, candy fell in love with her small, nerdy looking classmate who fought hard to be with the person he was sure was his soulmate. I think that would have been so cute! ♡♡♡ Of course change is bound to happen as someone grows, but not that much... ^^'''

this might be a hot take but i kinda wish to see castiel in a different part of the music industry. it's not that i don't think being on a band suits him or that it's out of character, but since he doesn't seem to want to (or is indifferent to) being on the spotlight, he doesn't like dealing with groupies, and hates being recognised and bribed because of his fame, i feel like the thing he enjoys about music is the process of creating and playing it

if that was the case, maybe a job as a lyricist or songwriter in a label or as a freelancer would suit him. of course, he could still play in his own band, the difference would be that he wouldn't have to deal with the exposure of being part of a famous band. yes, he might make less money, but i don't think he's in it for the salary

I agree with you a lot :) While I totally like Castiel being a part of a band and I think he really loves his job (apart from the disadvantages of fame and the most commercial part of the industry), I imagine him doing something more creative and taking on a more proactive role in changing the industry. Now that he's all grown up, I picture him opening his own indie record label sometime in the future, giving opportunities to young talents and looking for good quality music even if it doesn't fit in the mainstream commercial industry (especially because of that). A place where he can create freely without abandoning his dream 💕 Maybe he can balance both.

I also see him partnering up with Morgan, even Lysander if he comes back from the farm.

absolutely! i love him on stage too, but he could do great things in another part of the chain that is creating music. especially since he seems to have great music references, which implies some knowledge of the subject that might make him a good songwriter

i also thought about him opening a label or being at the top of one, but i picture that way more ahead in time. maybe a middleaged castiel who need a more stable job or something like that

and i love the idea of morgan and lysander working with him. i'm surprised we haven't seen interactions between morgan and castiel since they are in a similar career path
