hey …. was gone for like almost a month oops but had to take a break with everything going on but i’m honestly so conflicted on the seunghan solo news like yes i am happy for getting this news of him especially seeing as he can still pursue his career and would be 100% supporting whatever happens in the future but this all feels like sm trying to do damage control and shut down the boycott bc they can see that it’s working, especially seeing how they mentioned his solo debut wouldn’t happen until the second half of next year which is so?? bc why announce it so early and genuinely what is stopping them from just putting him back in the group bc it’s not like they’ve never gone back from their word before. tbh feel like they’re either testing the waters like when they announced he’d be back to see the reaction to this news or they’re trying to shut down the boycott which i have to say pls pls continue with boycotting riize! ik that the majority of ot7s are split between supporting vs not supporting this solo, but even if you’re wanting to support seunghan’s solo, i am encouraging u to pls continue to boycott sm/riize especially since the promised debut wouldn’t happen until the second half of 2025, and sooo much can happen from now to then! falling into sm’s words with this announcement will only allow them to think their actions are okay and justified, and will only further them to continue this mistreatment of their artists— which i’m genuinely afraid will happen upon seunghan debuting as a soloist— so i strongly encourage everyone to continue to boycott bc we at least need sm to bring about some change to this issue!

thank u for all that ur doing for the boycott 🩷 im honestly feeling a bit scared because I feel like we're losing some momentum, I've seen a lot of skeptics esp on reddit, and people are falling into old traps with hints and stuff which is discouraging them. I rly don't want to lose him (even though I know that he probably won't come back) and I want to support particularly the briize who have worked so hard thus far as well.

seunghan's friend/friend of friend came to the protest and said that he had been practicing every single day for all those months.....I cannot let sm and ot6 stans get away with this without significant damage but I just don't know what to do? esp when sm is ignoring us and playing dirty.

ofc! i obviously want to try and encourage as many people as possible to participate in the boycott, especially with official riize content! also totally get how you feel with the loss of momentum with the boycott, i definitely have seen people begin to lose hope for any sort of outcome or action from sm on behalf of seunghan because of recent “hints” such as the weverse posts from anton and wonbin, but i strongly encourage and support people to not lose hope on this as i genuinely feel this could be sm trying to take control of the situation and prevent any further progress from the boycott. especially a lot of long-time fans of sm groups (specifically exo-ls) have said that this is something that sm would try to do for damage control! so i definitely wouldn’t try to overanalyze or look too into any “hints” that would lean in favor for ot6s as we all have seen that the boys themselves are for ot7 just from wonbin’s letter defending seunghan with his return, the ot7 love 119 choreo, the multiple “7” hand signs at events, and the fact that the boys were the ones who convinced and supported seunghan to return! with this, i would say regardless of this meaning seunghan returning to riize or not, i would say to continue this boycott just to get some sort of justice for him through some action from sm because, as you said, we cannot let ot6s and sm get away with allowing the idea that bullying someone out of their group is humane or morally correct in any way.

i will also be trying to share some more updates that i see especially on other ways to contribute to the boycott or any points of progress if anyone would like!

Hi hi same anon from before! Is there any specific action that we’re hoping SM will take in light of the boycott? Or is this one of those “we’ll know it when we see it” kind of scenarios? I know SM has announced the “legal action” they’re taking, but since most of us know it’s probably not sincere (and will take a long time to follow through with) is there anything clear that we’re waiting for?

similar to what the purpose with the boycott is, i personally feel like it’s very broad and mixed with what we’re hoping to get back from sm. i would say that i’ve seen a lot of people hoping that this boycott would bring the action of bringing seunghan back to riize (obviously this is very mixed because i have seen other people talk about how they wouldn’t want him to return if he would be facing the same negative comments from ot6s which i agree with— also with the rest of the members because of the recent behavior that “fans” have been showing towards them) but i definitely think that everyone does collectively agree that we all want some form of action from sm where they address/take accountability for the seunghan situation and how they did fail to protect him against the hate (as they DEFINITELY could have taken big action against the wreaths especially) which will bring a sense of justice to his situation. another thing would also be a combo of both of this which would be seunghan’s return to riize alongside action taken against the behavior of ot6s as they clearly haven’t stopped with just seunghan, as they are attacking other members as well (which i feel this would be the best outcome for this situation bc it not only brings justice to seunghan especially with the amount of work he put during his hiatus to return, but also ensures protection for the rest of the members and other sm artists)!

also i do know about the legal action notice that they released which feels a bit iffy?? just bc it was released right before the protests were to take place so i do feel like they definitely were trying to release some statement to get people to stop boycotting (which clearly had no effect) because i do feel like at that moment they did realize the effect the boycott was having on them, but this is just my personal opinion!

however, i do feel like other people may have other outcomes they hope for but this is just what i’ve seen from the majority!

hi! ik that a lot of people who are supporting this boycott obviously have their own separate reasons, but from what i’ve seen and from what’s been discussed, there is the bigger picture goal of getting justice for seunghan because of how he was treated within those two days of his return and how sm failed to protect him (which this also correlates to the hope of having him back in riize!) but also this goal does extend to the remainder of the industry as we all recognize that from this situation, sm essentially is setting the industry back with failing to protect their own artist, and with this boycott, there is the hope that this effort and situation gets more wide recognition which will hopefully put an end or at least make some change to the mistreatment that goes around in the industry with situations like this, especially in regards to the parasocial behavior of certain fans! also with this, from preventing the mindset that some “fans” may have that they can whatever they want by mistreating or bullying artists/idols!

hi! i just wanted to come on here again to encourage everyone to please please participate in the boycott against sm! this doesn’t just help in getting justice for seunghan, but also helps in addressing and advocating the fan parasocial relationships & bullying/mistreatment issues in the industry! please unfollow all official accounts on all platforms and avoid streaming any official content and music— here is a link of someone who made mp3 files of riize music for the boycott & for spotify users, there are podcasts with the boycotted music so that we won’t give any streams to sm! also please sign this petition if you haven’t already, and encourage other people to participate in the boycott as well!

as much as it may seem like sm had no intentions of bringing him back w the szn greetings announcement & removing him from under the riize list on their website, there is so so much progress being made with this boycott!:

- our efforts have reached many kpop stores internationally, all of which have decided to halt restocking riize merch! this also include subk which is huge considering that they have collaborated with sm artists before!

- constant trends between the hashtags on twt

- we’ve gotten the support of plenty of non-briize kpop fandoms & non-kpop fandoms (arianators, harries, swifties, beliebers, etc.)

- plenty of large influencers and creators on youtube and tiktok speaking on the situation! there is also the spread in recognition of the situation overall across social media with many videos (such as evidence of the bullying) going viral!

- we’ve reached the recognition of others in the industry, such as a tweet that was retweeted by leeteuk (an artist under sm) & a tweet by jae (former day6 member) talking about the situation!

- i believe pineapple manager also liked an ot7 post on insta?? but pls correct me if i’m wrong!

- drop of riize twt followers from 809k to 730k & riize insta from 4.2m to 3.9m

- the petition has over 260k signatures

- we’ve gotten many big and well-known news sources writing articles on the boycott and the bullying situation with seunghan as well as regarding sm and their treatment of their artists

- tons of korean news sources have released articles on the situation as well as the boycott and updates on it!

- the naver article that covered seunghan’s departure was taken down!

- recent events of ot7 k-briize joining the effort (lots of have tweeted about the hope they have for this!) and organizing a protest outside of sm on friday, the 18th!

- i believe there have also been accounts of people on twt seeing some knetz/ot6s attempting to delete evidence and/or admitting to what they did which shows that our efforts are reaching them! (PLEASE correct me if this is misinformation bc my sources are a few accts on twt!)

please let me know if i am missing any other points of progress and i will add it!

if you would like to continue to make a change beyond unfollowing official accounts:

- if you have twitter (x), please please continue to share the ongoing hashtags we have for seunghan, it is important that we don’t let them drop!

- ALSO!! do not engage with any official accounts regardless of what they post, it will defeat the purpose of the boycott!

- regarding ot6 comments, especially on wv, do NOT interact with them, ignore them! ignoring will help prevent any traction towards their comments, and help increase our efforts!

- helping with funding for ongoing fan projects! one that i’ve seen recently is the sunflowers for seunghan project! this tweet has all the info on it if you’re interested!

seunghan i wish the world was kinder to u. hong seunghan who is nothing but kind to the rest of the world. hong seunghan who loves and takes care of his members so openly. hong seunghan who’s classmates and friends have had nothing but good things to say about him. hong seunghan who is quite literally made for the stage. hong seunghan who’s dream it was to be a kpop idol after his older brother got him into it. hong seunghan who started training at the age of 12, and worked for 7 years to debut. hong seunghan who was only an idol for two months and missed so many firsts that he deserved to experience with his members. hong seunghan who worked so hard during his rookie days to debut. hong seunghan who was wrongfully put in hiatus for having a girlfriend predebut. hong seunghan who, during his hiatus, helped out at his aunt’s restaurant. hong seunghan who wasn’t sure if he deserved to come back while on hiatus, but was supported throughout by his members. hong seunghan who was announced back after a 10 month hiatus, creating such a huge impact that multiple fandoms came together to celebrate. hong seunghan who, despite his and his member’s efforts, sacrificed his career to prevent his members’ careers from being looked at negatively. hong seunghan who is so loved. hong seunghan who did not deserve the hate and threats that he went through. hong seunghan who is someone’s son, someone’s brother, someone’s family, someone’s friend. hong seunghan who is human, and should’ve been treated as a human. hong seunghan who the world should’ve been kinder to. hong seunghan who i wish we could’ve worked harder to protect. hong seunghan, i am so sorry that you had your career and dream ruined like this, that you couldn’t experience all the firsts that you deserved to experience as a group with the members because ot6s couldn’t get a grip on their parasocial behavior. i hope that with this decision, that wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, that you are always surrounded by those who love you. i hope that you are okay and will be able to heal with time. i hope that you will always be happy throughout life. i hope that you will be able to live out and fufill your life to its best. i hope that you know how loved and cherished you are.

i have sm to say on this situation but i cannot emphasize how seunghan’s feelings and mental health is the most important matter rn over anything else. seunghan did not deserve any of this hate, he is a human being and he should’ve been treated like one, but instead he was bullied out of his group and deserves the biggest apology for it. seeing how he had to spend almost a whole year apologizing continuously for being a normal teenager, and it still wasn’t enough for knetz to the point where they gave him the worst treatment ever, worse than that given to the literal pedos and criminals in the industry, is so sickening. i really wish people could have been kinder to him and i hope he knows how loved he is.
