My kiddos need help!!! Please help the nonprofit I work find funds for the new school year. We provide a free school to a very remote part of Haiti. We need help paying our teachers and providing food, books, uniforms, and supplies. Please help spread the word or sponsor a child today!

Hello Tumblr family!
For the past five years BRITE (Bringing Relief Internationally Through Education) Incorporated has been making an impact in a small village named Rodaille near Jacmel, Haiti by providing free education and one free meal a day to 171 students. It has been a joy to help serve this community, sadly over the years it has become harder and harder to maintain our school as the needs have increased in the community. The 2013-2014 school year has proven to be a quite a challenge financially so much so that we have considered closing the school down if we do not raise the necessary funds for the following school year. We have been struggling to pay our teachers on time (if at all for the month) and have been unable to provide the essential tool for our students. We are reaching out to you as our support system for help! We are launching this campaign to raise $50,000 to provide teachers salary to finish out this year and for the upcoming school year, books and supplies for our students, housing for teachers, and supplementing food supplies when needed. Any amount helps and if you are unable to financially contribute we would still appreciate it if you shared this link on your social media or emailed the link to friends and family. WE NEED YOU!

Today is my first day of work! I'm so thankful that God provided and gave me a full time job with benefits. AND I found out that over the summer I get every Friday off but my pay doesn't change! How awesome is that?! #40daysofgratitude

Well I missed yesterday so here's a couple things to be grateful for today. The cutest note cards on clearance and plenty of friends to send them to and my awesome blender that makes the BEST green smoothies around. So I don't normally celebrate Lent, but it just so happened to come at a time when I was already thinking of something in myself I wanted to change. This year I'm going to take advantage of it and use this time to work on my character. I've been seeing a pattern of ungratefulness in my heart and I don't like it. For the next 40 days I'm going to deny my critical, selfish nature and find something every day to be thankful for. God is so faithful. My dad and I have both been unemployed for 6 months and it's been hard to find work. There have been challenges that we've faced and it was hard but also so faith building. He had an interview today and I had one last week, and I kept thinking of how awesome it would be if we both got jobs in the same week. For the past few days I prayed specifically that we would get jobs today so that we would know without a doubt it was from God. Well...that pretty much happened! I got an official offer and my dad was told today that he was the right guy for the job and is now just waiting on the actual offer. That may not be exactly what I had hoped for but I'll take it! Even just one of us getting a job is a huge burden lifted and I am so grateful. During those 6 months God always took care of us. We always had a roof over our head and cars to drive and food on the table. And God even made it possible for me to get married and still have my dream wedding despite the lack of jobs. Romans 8:28 is ridiculously true. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." He really is so, so good.
You know that saying, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder"? Well, it's really true. I'm not usually the type to miss people much, but boy oh boy have I found myself missing @jaci33 a lot lately. The week before she moved we went on a walk and found ourselves swinging like kids and it was great. I love the way God has molded our friendship over the years and it always amazes me when I look back at how much we've grown (thank the LORD). Thank you for always reminding me to be positive and for showing me what loving like Jesus really looks like. You are truly my best friend. I'm so proud of you and I love you!
Don’t equate the presence of God with a good mood or a pleasant temperament. God is near whether you are happy or not.
